Welcome to my Loungefly Loki mini backpack update. Previously, I had uploaded a video where I reviewed what I suspected was a counterfeit Loki backpack. Since then, I have acquired an authentic one, and due to some shipping problems (likely because the company was running a sketchy business), I still have the fake bag. With both of them in hand, I decided to make a direct comparison video for you all to see the difference in quality.
I was lucky with this situation in that I was able to get my money back fairly easily. That is obviously not always the case, so I wanted to warn others to be careful buying online, make sure you're buying directly from Loungefly themselves or from an authorized reseller.

Loungefly has now added Loungefly crowns on their rivets on the straps in an effort to deter counterfeiters. I got the newest version of their Loki backpack and it is awesome

check the tags in official Loungefly bags. The tags, even though I find them annoying sometimes, help to authenticate the actual bags and they are always on the insides in the main compartment and they're kinda annoying and obnoxious BUT they have things written on them to help authenticate the bags from the counterfeits. If these tags are cut, shredded, missing, or even poor quality and sus looking, that's another way to tell if you have a official Loungefly product or not.

Oh dear! I'm glad this video was able to help save you from the headache of getting a fake, and having to try and do a return. Keep an eye out on Amazon, I've heard of people having some luck on there recently, just check on the seller to make sure they're rated well.
I literally just got one of these bags and can't even tell of its a fake or not, the bag is staying in pretty good shape basically no dents on or anything, but the tag and plate on the bag both have the old heat symbol instead of the crown. But the inside has the marvel logo like the aethentic one but it came with paper in the pocket and not foam so I really don't know.
The OG Loki was made both before and after the Funko takeover, so you'll find them with both the heart and crown logos (I have heart too). If you'd like, feel free to message me photos of your bag on Facebook or Instagram and I'd be happy to take a look for you :)
Where did you purchase the counterfeit bag?
It was from a seller on eBay. I buy a lot from there and usually don't have any trouble, this was a rare case of a bad product for me.
Do you know if the Sequence Disney loungefly bags have the stretch string for the tags too? Someone is selling multiple on Facebook and Iâm not sure itâs real. This person sent a video and itâs in a plastic clear bag with the tag held by the plastic (the same one as the fake one in your video)
Many real Loungeflys have the plastic tag, I was only referring specifically to these original Loki bags when I mentioned the string tags. We noticed that the real ones primarily had string tags versus the fakes that had plastic tags.

Hi there! When I made this video, you could easily find bargains off of second hand sites. However, with the recent boom in popularity, Loungefly bags are now much harder to find at discounted prices, especially older bags that are popular (i.e. Loki, any bag that has the original heart logo versus the new Funko crown logo, etc.). You'll have better luck with newer releases by using coupons and buying directly from major retailers and small businesses.
If you watch sites such as eBay, Mercari, and Poshmark, you miiiight get lucky in finding an older bag for a good deal.

I have a question regarding the metal loungefly logo on the front, all of the loki bags I've seen online have the one with the heart in front of the logo, I can't even find any with the funko change. Are some bags produced both ways?
I would venture to guess that the bags that were produced right around the time when Loungefly joined Funko might have a mix of the two logos. Loki was/is super popular and a lot of them were made, it's not surprising that some would have the new logo versus the old. I'm fairly confident the 2nd one I received is an authentic bag with the new logo.

It's definitely a hard one to find and you have to be quick when you do see one for sale, I know a lot of people are on the lookout for it. Loungefly is releasing an updated Loki design in the near future if you can't find the old one. :)

You would have to be very careful buying from sites such as ebay or AliExpress as counterfeit Lokis are very common from there. I have heard some people are having good luck buying the Loki that is listed Amazon, so it might be worth a try! (Make sure to check if they offer free returns to save you trouble in case you do end up with a fake bag.)

I have a lounge fly that has a tag inside, that says it is a limited edition, and it's got where it's supposed to say what number it is out of 1000. But there's no number printed first to show what number it is. It's a blank spot. I have a little mermaid, that is made the same way, but it actually says that it's like 67 out of 1000. Could the first one that I talked about be a fake? I got these from a deceased friend sister, so we have no way of asking where she got them. Thank you.
Hmm... unfortunately without actually seeing the bag, I cannot say much. Perhaps they just missed putting the number on there? The best I can say is that there are NOT a ton of fake Loungefly designs, so it's very possible that it's a legit bag and the missing number is just a mistake.

Unfortunately I do not know the market over there very well, the only shops I know of off the top of my head are Get Ready Comics and GeekCore. Even then, OG Loki is an older bag and not really sold anywhere anymore.

Seems like most people are getting the real Loki from this seller, and since it's shipped with Amazon Prime, you should be able to easily return it if you have issues with a fake.

Do you think all the backpacks that carry the Loungefly logo with the heart are fake? The originals are all simply written with Marvel loungefly without the heart in front of the label?
The original Loungefly logo has the heart with "LF" in it. The newer one with the crown over the "y" is their new logo since being bought by Funko :)
I bought a Disney stitch mini backpack 2 years ago at a comic convention. Mine has the loungefly logo with the heart glad to know mine is not a fake. My bag is still in great condition just gotta clean up the straps themselves.
From what I can tell, the fake bags didn't appear until more recently (~1 year), so hopefully all the ones from before then should be fine. We're catching more and more fakes being made (original Thor, Ghost Mickey, Halloween Snacks), so please keep an eye out!

Does Hot Topic sell real ones ones or are they off brand??
Hot Topic does indeed sell legit Loungeflys, they just usually stock more affordable ones with leather plaques versus metal ones. The quality is a little lower, hence the lower prices.
The placement of the Loungefly metal nameplate is also not done very well on the fake.
Oh yea, most of the fakes look VERY obvious. Unfortunately I still see them pop up for sale every now and then.
Not all the bags have the material strings, some of mine came with the plastic and I got them from lounge fly.
I probably should have specified that it was these original Loki bags that had the string tags and the fakes all had the plastic tags. Many other Loungeflys have the plastic tags, yes đ
Where did you get the fake bag?
I got it from eBay, lots of fake Loki ones on there.
I recently bought a Marie bag from Amazon and I feel that it isnât authentic, it does have the crown on the tag but the material feels like styrofoam, itâs paint on its eye was scraped off, it has scratches & crumpled in the front and back, a little bit of staining, and the stitches just doesnât look like it was done well. I was considering repairing it if it was authentic, since they are now out of stock, but if not, Iâll be returning it and report it to both Amazon & Loungefly as counterfeit.

That's when you know a company has made it right? When someone cares enough to copy them đ The good thing is that you don't have to worry too too much as out of hundreds of products, we've only seen a small amount of fake Loungeflys.

I finally posted it on Facebook and my Instagram after keeping it in its original box since December 2019. I posted it and someone PM on Facebook and said sweetie thatâs fake. She showed me the real pictures and your video. I was mad, but nothing I could do about it. I really didnât know they had fake bags out there. So I immediately checked all my bags.
Ugh, that's awful! Unfortunately scammers count on people not knowing that they even need to be weary of counterfeit bags existing. I posted a couple videos recently with updates on which bags are being faked if that helps you at all.

Hot Topic bags are authentic, but some donât have the details such as side pockets, inside pocket, and the straps are different.

I saw loungefly on Walmarts website would they be legit?
It's mostly likely from a 3rd party seller, just on Walmart's website. I would suggest being cautious ordering for that reason.

I would be weary ordering from AliExpress as they are notorious for having counterfeit Loungefly bags. I would be more inclined to buy from Amazon as long as you check on the seller's ratings. Using Prime is good for returns too in case you run into trouble.

The string on the tag alone wouldn't necessarily be a sign of a fake bag. Which one are you looking to get?

I will say that we've never seen fakes of those ones, and some bags do have the string tags, it's just these Loki ones don't have it on the tag on the front pocket zipper.
How can I know if the bag I am buying from Amazon is a not a counterfeit before purchasing from a seller?
My best advice would be to check the sellerâs ratings and where theyâre shipping from (not some weird address or from out of the country. If it says China, good chance itâs fake.) I wouldnât worry too too much as there arenât a ton of faked designs, Loki seems to be the worse offender.

I know for a fact that not all bags from Amazon are counterfeit, many are actually smalls shops that are approved to sell Loungefly, they just also sell on Amazon. As of right now, we have not seen any fakes of any of Iron Man bag, there are just a lot of different versions available.

I have also seen a website that sells fake Disney dooney and bourkes bags. I clicked on the CZcams video that was shown of the bag on the website. I contacted the youtuber to ask if the bag was real and she stated that she bought hers on the shop Disney website. She had no idea her video was on there. Obviously the price gives it away since the real cost about $289 and the fake was $49.
Ugh, that's just awful! These scammers will use any tactic they can :/ I ran into someone trying to sell a very obviously fake Loki backpack this morning on a popular buy/sell website and had to quickly report it and let others know to not buy that listing.

It's not really sold in stores anymore unless you get really lucky to find a random one. Best bet is just look on sites such as eBay or Mercari and hope someone is selling theirs. Just make sure to ask them for close-up photos so you can see the details and check for fakes.
I think sideshow.com is having a pre-order for a loki loungefly backpack but I don't think it's exactly the same but it's similar

I know some don't mind counterfeits as long as they look good and are cheaper. However, they're often similar in price to the real ones, because people don't realize they're getting the fakes đŹ

Oh wait I see it, for us ORIGINAL OWNERS of Loungefly⊠lol they tried to copy the Loungefly logo from 6-7 years ago. If you donât believe it look for the creator of Loungefly⊠and their original work, they lost their copyright. Loungefly was bought out right for $22m
Yes, I know about Funko buying out Loungefly (this video was uploaded a couple years ago). This Loki backpack was released with both the heart logo from before the buyout and the new Funko crown logo afterwards. The counterfeits have all had the old logo from what I've seen.

It's a hard one to find, sometimes you can get lucky on Amazon, but make sure to check if the seller has good ratings on there, and use Prime if possible to make returns easier in case you run into trouble.

Where can I buy a fake bag
Ebay ones are notorious for being fake, so be careful of ones from there, especially watching out for where they ship from (China is a big no-no). I saw a couple get fakes from Amazon sellers too, so make sure to check who's the seller on there too.
I tried to order this for my wife for her birthday coz she LOOOOVES these back packs and they were sold out at the time on the actual loungefly website so I risked it on another website and got a knock off. I was pissed. So if you see a site called toygameshop.com stay away. Donât order ANYTHING from that site!!
