Smart Plants: Analyzing the Results

This is the fifth in a series of animations that introduces the scientific method using a real-life example: roots in your backyard growing around water pipes. We will now analyze the results of the second experiment testing the refined hypothesis.
Together with the other animations of the pathway, “Rooted in Science: The Scientific Method and the Senses of Smart Plants,” this video guides the learner from a real-life observation, to a current discovery in plant science, to the question, “Can plants ‘hear’?”.
By applying the scientific method in an intuitive and logical way, anyone-even those without any scientific background-can arrive at a conclusion that scientists have published in scientific journals. This pathway’s videos are interconnected by a single narrative and are intended to be followed in a chronological order.
