    Quick question for your guest speaker:
    How often do you see someone in your company working as SDE1 who is from a different engineering discipline (e.g Mechanical)
    If yes, how did they make their profiles competitive enough to make up for their non-IT background?

    • @faizm4765

    Bro What is your preferred language when it comes to DSA ? I'm currently in 4th year, I only know basic python, and I'm planning to learn DSA. So many people insisted me learn DSA with C++. But I'm completely new to C++. What's your opinion on this?

    • @faizm4765

      I use C++ but it's totally just a preference because I'm used to it. You can choose anything you feel comfortable with to start. Python is also totally fine for DS. For CP it might be a little slow but for interviews totally acceptable.

    • @faizm4765
      @faizm4765  Před 2 lety +8

      Definitely you're eligible to apply and the best way to apply is try to get a referral. If you dont get a referral go ahead and apply yourself. Always keep an eye on its careers page. Now ho to prepare. First get comfortable in a programming language like JAVA or C++. Then to study Data structures go ahead with youtube resources like Pepcoding and Techdose. If you are interested in more structures and courses, you can buy PrateekNarang course on Udemy. Its cheap too. Even whatever course you buy refer Pepcoding youtube channel too. They have DataStructures covered in 3 levels. Start with their level1. And most important, practice a lot on Gfg to begin with. Dont think about time or how long will it take. Its a compounding process, in early days it will take time but once you get the feel after a lot of practice it will be more fun and quick to grasp new things.

Actually I had my 4th round 9 days ago and I am yet to hear from them. My last 3 rounds were good but in the last round, I actually failed to code the most optimized soln but gave him the approach. The companies check your problem solving skill not how advanced algorithms you know. Just be confident with what you know and solve problems. The problems will only teach you the type of algorithms you need to know for cracking interviews.

      As I said, I couldn't solve the last tree question. Maybe due to that or some behavioral question. I asked my feedback from recruiter but they never responded back.

    Hello sir, I have completed my b.tecb from ECE now i am thinking to prepare DSA can u suggest me only this very course will help me through getting job or do I need to go for something more.... And after DSA what about projects, I mean as u said practice from gfg but I want to know for projects coz I haven't done any Such project earlier, to kya company projects wagera nhi check kregi, and I haven't done internships in this sector, so is it matters to them and yes after learning DSA what are the positions for which I can apply? Plz clr my doubt If possible attach ur mail id so that i can clear all my doubts whenever I feel

    • @faizm4765
      @faizm4765  Před 2 lety

      Definitely keep practicing questions of DSA, it will help you to clear online round and interviews. You might mention 1-2 projects in your resume, it will look good and give you something to talk about in your interviews. Most importantly you will get a feel of building something (no matter how simple or basic). For begining, you can refer Pepcoding Web development videos. They have covered MERN stack along with good projects. So you can follow that along with DSA. Intenship not much required as now you are passout and will be applying off-campus. As far as positions are considered apply to openings freshers. For more doubts you can reach out to me on LinkedIn.

      For practice I prefer Leetcode and gfg. And for video solution to the problem, usually I go to pepcoding. Others like Tech dose and Aditya Verma are also very good.
      Tip: even if you are able to solve the problem, do check out Leetcode discuss section. You might learn something new.

      Try and revise what you already know. Don't start a new topic in detail just for interview sake. Go through gfg interview experiences and archive. Go through the problems you have already solved previously and examine their time complexity. And finally wish you all the best 👍
