This may very well be the most difficult project I’ve ever done - thank you SO much for watching. It was a really astonishing journey that stretched the limits of what I thought I could do. I hope you enjoy.

Sorry, Babish.
Good Mythical Morning, please hire me.
Thanks, Chelsey.
As per usual my biggest inspiration is Bobby Duke Arts, in everything from my style to my efforts. I feel compelled to note that I’m so influenced by him. Check out his work if you somehow haven’t already; it’s simply astonishing.
Thanks for watching! - Zábava
There's something really heartwarming about seeing a toy that was most likely very dear to a child being treated so well and cleaned up.
Beautiful comment.
😘Yes -and than she become so beautifull after the work. ❤❤❤
So nice to look at.
Or no
Like, i has some toys and i didn't like playing because i had no Friends as a kid
Might not have been very dear to a child, though. Many children receive toys they don't really care anything about.
@@polarisedelectrons true, but this doll looks like she's been on a few adventures. I'm sure another child loved her after.
"I, however, will be as kind as I can be."
**Proceeds to take out knife**
Lol
Hey you stole my comment 😂😂😂
@@Yaya-dm7ww ....
I did?
Exactly!!!
I know, I literally said, "wtf? no" when he did that
Can we just Imagine this doll was alive, in the beginning going “oh I’m ok the sooner I get thrown away the better” then getting taken apart going” yea I will never be pretty again tear me to pieces” then seeing herself in the mirror with beautiful skin and a outfit then bursts into tears going “ thank you thank you so much!”
Why did you made me cry.
Thanks I'm crying
there are good people in this world after all
this is pixar gut punching, happy but emotional teary eyes level
Pixar could do a short on that.
Imagine in 100 years someone restoring this doll again
😳🤯🥺💗💖💕
🤯🤯🤯🤯
Doll of Theseus
That would be surprising
"I restored a restored nearly 200 year old doll | Mary Ann Effenbee 1928-2021 (Auction is LIVE)"
I think its gonna be wild
I was enjoying the video, but then you started talking and I was like “he has a fun personality” and THEN you did the Babish thing and I died and went into another dimension. I loved this video so much.
Let me know when you return from your dimensional trip!
I died as well xD
I disagree. Give the guy a break
What Babish thing??
@@sandragraves1177 they are saying they enjoyed that portion.
You did a beautiful, fantastic job on this poor doll. It brought tears to my eyes the way you restored her like she was just bought off the shelf in a high end doll shop. Thank you for giving her back her dignity! Bless you, Sir for all you do in restoration. We need more people like you!
You even gave her, her voice back! Have to admit dolls scare the crap out of me but you did a wonderful job and if it is haunted I am sure the spirit is happy! Lol
From one self-taught doll clothes tailor to another: Heat fuse hem tape. Especially the kind with a paper backing. It will keep you from pulling your hair out. If you ever decide to make clothes for smaller dolls, hemming stuff by hand can be... challenging.
Thank you so much!
"Stitch witchery" has helped me with many hems lol
@@Faesharlyn and is super fun to say.
@@duanemadeit9460 Also for styling hair- a round metal chopstick, heated up with a flat iron, makes a perfect tiny curling rod.
Knotchs and reliefs also help
Omg please do more old doll restorations
Its ok I colect them
I however will be as kind as I can “proceeds to start cutting it apart” 😂
It do be like that sometimes
I’m sure the demon who lives in the doll really appreciated the makeover. 😉 loves the video! From ugly doll left in a box for hundred years to pretty doll every collector would love.
Thanks for the likes!
Hi I am a doll doctor from the Netherlands, I am currently retoring a doll from the 1930s and it is giving me a lot off brain trouble. So glad I found you on CZcams so I can watch how you do things, learning a lot. Thank you!
I also restore dolls from the 30s, it's like having your own museum inside of your home.
Going from the Insider version to the full version makes me appreciate the restoration even more. While I liked the professional tight-knit kind of video Insider released, I much prefer the humorous, whimsical and artsy side you bring to the table. Plus your spin on Binging with Babish was hilarious. Can't wait for the next video!
I kind of died a little when you brushed out her hair. Overall really neat thanks for sharing!
It was pincurled so you're supposed to brush it out
@@user-wc5kd7ti5u yeah but youre meant to style as you go..it was the only part of the video were I just felt like 'no! 😱'
I loved this whole process, but brushing, cutting, and styling her hair while she's dressed in her lovely new outfit -- why?!?! :-)
I hope the doll was nearby as you were swearing while sewing. That's just a really amusing mental image to imagine a little girl just sitting there as their parent is swearing up a storm-- as they stare all wide eyed and smiling.
Oh boy, did you bring me back to my doll-making days in the 80s. I made both porcelains and compo dolls and loved every minute of it! So sad that popularity and places to go to do this are all gone. No supplies anymore either. Wish it would come back!!!
It's a shame. I wish I could have made my own custom dolls out of porcelain or composite.
Настоящий мужчина, может ВСЕ! Даже ювелирно отреставрировать 100 летнюю куклу самостоятельно и сшить для нее наряд! Браво! У вас волшебные руки!
"Is the specimen ready for cleaning?"- Geri 1999
I can picture Duane saying that decades later when he's 75 and still doing this
By then he’ll be restoring stuff from nowadays! 😆
That scene has probably shaped me into what I am today, I just finished fixing a pull string doll
"I'm not Russian, I'm Italian" has me in tears, I already love your content and this is my first time watching lmfao
I love stuff like this..like so much. I saw this on Snapchat and immediately came here to watch the full video.
I saw this on snapchat too!!
Saaaame!!!
Same!
Me too!! Just subbed:)
Same here, I swiped away and lost the video on snap and was so mad, but I’m happy I was able to find this channel. :)
A hard core heavy metal guy lovingly repairing and making cute pretty twee dolls., with hearts and flowery clothes....
You're messing with my head !
😄😄😄
Mission accomplished

😄😄
As a collector of old dolls, thank you for saving her! Fabulous job!
I fr jus came from the insider on snap XD Luveeddddd it
Darling, you are getting my like just for the Edna impersonation!!!
No capes!!!
The babish bit went on for a perfect amount of time, it was absolutely hilarious
I don’t even like dolls, and yet I started crying at the reveal
Bravo! Fabulous job--may I suggest a book called "The Dolls Dressmaker" which has all the basic patterns and directions on how to make different outfits from basic patterns. Also, Tulle is your best friend when doing those tiny seams. :-)
She's darling! Those pink knees are killing me! Loved the raspberry tea dye!
Very good job! Her outfit, her lil pink knees, oh, she's sweet again!
I love seeing doll restorations, it makes me so happy to see a worn down doll be brought back to life ❤️
Also that pink wood filler was like magic omg
watching you fix up old toys reminds me of being a kid, dirt poor, only having my parents' broken old toys or cheap dollar store dinosaurs to play with, and eventually learning i could "doctor" them when their legs snapped off or the fabric tore. mom collected different fabric then never used any of it, and i had access to this, needles, thread, glues, all the very very basic things to (very poorly lol) fix them up with, but no one to teach me how to do it better. i would try to make clothes for them, even. no matter the species. even the reptiles and frogs.
im still dirt poor and took up digital painting/illustration instead because its practically free to do in supplies, and im almost 30 now so i havent doctored a toy in a couple decades, but boy this really made me remember how much i actually enjoyed fixing them up, even if they only had literal unmatching-but-close-enough-colored patches sewn on them or obvious paint blobs. its cool seeing you do what i didnt realize still immensely satisfies my brain, only 100x better
edit, forgot to mention that i appreciate the fact the thumbnail for this isnt photoshopped or misleading to hell and back.
She just gorgeous, it’s so wonderful to be able to put something like this back to it’s glory. I have a few dolls that need this type of TLC. You are very talented
C'mon !! He deserved more viewers and subscribers. Because his content is so satisfying.
She's so pretty. I can imagine my grandparents playing with dolls like these
I love how you're having a conversation with a doll😂🤣... I'm sure more of us are doing this during shelter in place due to Covid.

Волшебно! Вернули к жизни куклу с почти столетней историей! Это замечательно! Респект мастеру!
Theatrical creator as a day job? No wonder you're so good at sewing, because that clothing blew my mind. Mary Ann has STYLE. Love your sense of humour and love seeing someone's once-loved toy get the care she deserves.
Lovely job on the old doll brought back to her former glory! Heart warming too and precious to watch a pair of large man hands carefully and gently working on this pretty girl!
I adore the Effanbee dolls, my grandma gave me recreated Patsy Ann for Christmas in the late 90’s and I cherish her to this day
I half expected them to say:
*This is Mary Ann, and she is haunted.*
You made an old lady cry 😊 All i could think of was the little girl she originally belonged to and what she would think if she could see her today. What a precious work of art.
Thank you for watching!
I restored a Mary Ann in 1993. I was so proud of her. I don't know where she is now . Her mom got her from her mother. Thanks for bringing back memories. You did a great job. My name is.Pat Napper ,"Pat's Doll Hospital. Closed on 1994
This was really fun! I laughed, I cried, i even shouted "oh no!" Reading "human hair wig" and seeing the glue gun.
A rollercoaster that brought us into the station with a gorgeous glow-up for this lovely little lady
Thank you so so much for this heartfelt comment!

1928, that was the same year when steamboat willie came out.
🤯
@4Freedom4All 1927 was when talkies began with "The Jazz Singer."
@4Freedom4All True.
yep that was almost 93 years ago can you believe it
You know something's real good when it feels like a 5 minute video rather than nearly half an hour. This was beautiful to watch. The whole detailed process was amazing.
And I'm assuming the doll has been sold since the page isn't up anymore. Hopefully he gave it to a museum or something where they could've set it up for display. Plus, I think he would've received much more for it.
Thank you so much. It went for $300 and was quite a hard sell, believe it or not.
@@duanemadeit9460 Congrats! I'm glad you received something for it. Keep up the great work, sir!
Brought back memories of Grandma at Christmas, placing four dolls for her granddaughters lovingly in a row.
Beautiful man I’m sure the original owner of this doll would be happy that their doll got brought back like new.
There is just so much skill involved here. I absolutely love that you restored her and also made her an outfit! What?!
I know it would be almost impossible, but imagine finding the original owner and returning the refurbished doll to them!!! 🥰
No matter how creepy some people will say this doll is, its wholsome and amazing that you fixed her up and put so much love and care into her! It makes me smile 😁
Well that was amazing. Gotta say, I was giggling when you “worked” on her hair. And you have yourself a new subscriber ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so much for bringing this poor doll back to life! I can feel tears in my eyes now 🥺🥰 you have golden hands
Muuuuaaaaahhhh flatiron for the Seams on doll clothes GENIUS holy cow ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
“I’m not rushin’, I’m Italian” 😂😂😂
I love these old dolls. I think they look so pretty when someone brings them back.
Seeing you Customizing and restoring toy is so relaxing. Once your videos end, I always play them again, and again and again.
You really were kind to this sweet dolly. She was so raggedy! Probably from being well loved. I enjoyed this so much. You've got big heart, sir!! And when you started talking to and cursing out the sewing machine, I was in love, lol! MS Made It is hilarious too. I subscribed in two seconds😊
Wow… the transformation is amazing. That doll was once loved by a child and the years were certainly not kind to the poor doll. You made her look like she just came off the assembly line in 1928. Well done
Please do more vintage doll restrations I would love to see
This is so amazing! You gave this little doll her dignity back.
This dude making the clothes, reminds me of a dad making his daughter a dress for school. I love it.
Oh my goodness, I'm blown away by your craftsmanship and attention to detail!! She's absolutely gorgeous now...I hope she went to a good home and will have a chance to live her best life 💕
I have a feeling you're channel's going to blow up, man. This is the first time I've watched any of your videos, and I can tell you've got what it takes.
Amazing! You are incredibly talented!
C'mon Rhett & Link, hire the man!
It’s all I want 😂😅
This is probably my favorite restoration of all time.
Little Mary Ann, full of the wonder of coming back...
It’s lovely to see what must have been a treasured possession brought back to life with such skill and care, well done👏👏👏👏
I admire you working on fun side projects like this, and I love that you are achieving your acting lifestyle. THAT'S AWESOME 😲. YYYYYAAAAASSSS. I love acting too but it's a struggle with depression, anyways KEEP GOING MY MANSSSSS. When life shuts a door...open it again. It's a door. That's how they work.
I love Efanbee dolls, my grandmother used to get me a new one every year. They were from the 80s. Watching this made me cry in the beautiful memory of my grandmother. She was a classy lady I miss dearly. The tears were good ones though, you did a gorgeous job in the restoration!
My first time! You are so talented step by step and the History of this beautuful doll. Your a doll ! I wish you luck and blessings. It was a blessing to watch your skills you are changing the world and reminding all of us the past and how we need to take responsiblity to preseve beautiful things of our past and to remind us of what a wasteful society we have become and to do something about it. You have opened the eyes of many through your vision of this Beautiful Doll. Thank you.
I so appreciate your kind words and support, Dianne. Thank you.
Found you on Snapchat and had to look you up! Love watching stuff like this.
Edit: having watched this all the way through, you did such a great job! I had no idea how much went into restoring things. And you did it with so much respect to the original. Also a man that can sew?! Call me 😂
I don't know why, but there is something so sweet and endearing about the care and effort you put into making her whole again. Also bonus points for your sense of humor, that earned a sub. And then I about died at the Babish homage. This was a fascinating and satisfying process to watch, thank you for sharing! (Also, I hope she fetched a good price at auction!)
I honestly LOVE how this was a painting tutorial, sewing tutorial, cooking tutorial AND hairstyling tutorial all in one. 👏🏼 We love a multi-talented king ✨
Lmao this video was so fun to watch 😂 Thank you!!!!
Thank you for watching!
She looks beautiful. Watching you restore her was in equal parts relaxing and fascinating, thank you for this amazing video.
Duane, This is so beautiful! The reveal made me cry. Such a talent you have. I subscribed.
Cheers
I don't think I've ever thought so many complementary things about someone in such a short period of time. Great video and I'm amazed that this isn't your profession. Very impressive. thanks for spreading joy.
You are probably the few people brave enough to restore an old doll.
honestly tho im not complaining i like dis stuff
OMG, the absolute skill of this man!
You’ve made this baby doll so happy to be loved again!
She is beautiful. I am in awe of your work. Your craftsmanship is outstanding. She went from being old and tired to young and revived. I love the detail that you used, even down to her hand made clothing, just outstanding. Please keep doing this. And I will keep watching.
Wow, just Wow! You restores a piece of history with care, skill and attention to historical detail. I wonder just how rare this doll is, and if restoring it will appeal to collectors Any idea? Great impressive work.
The doll turned out beautifully. I hope it goes to a loving home
Techniques vary but the less you do to an antique composition doll the better. I agree if badly damage you have no choice but to do a full restoration though many collectors prefer as little repairs as necessary. Keeping all the original parts and not altering it will allow the doll to retain its full value. 2nd best doll collection in the State of Arizona in 1981 so I do have some credentials.
Totally mesmerised watching you, she's beautiful 😍
You did a marvelous job on that doll! She's adorable.
She is so beautiful! Did not exspect such beauty.
Wow, she's gorgeous, fabulous work!!
beautiful it shows that we can take old stuff and restore it back to what it would have looked like back in the past all those years ago ands from back then playing with old toys and dolls of how they were played with back then :)
I have a question about the stuffing: does it go "bad" after a certain amount of time?
Sometimes! It depends on the stuffing. The more organic it is, the more susceptible it is to that. Like, a lot of older dolls will use things like wood chips, sawdust, or different kinds of seeds or ground meals.
This is so beautiful! Bring her to life again. :D
That Edna Mode quote was ICONIC
Imagine the little kid that probably adored that doll is in heaven staring down and seeing their dear doll having life again
I thought about this a lot, actually. There was one night I nearly broke down in tears over it.
I have watched this at least 10 times
I loved this!.I love seeing dolls brought back to life.You're a genius.🥰
The Babish segment was spot on and not too long. But the Joe poem made me literally LOL. Excellent work!
The collar is typically done using a thin cheesecloth as the lining ~ cut one collar, one lining, stitch all along the outside (right sides together), trim stitched edge to just under 1/4", & flip inside out ~ smooth and iron, voilá, your collar is ready to be attached to the coat.
I have to say though ~ for not being at ease with the sewing, you did an AMAZING job! And her hairdo, hairbow and slouch hat just took the cake!
Very nice
