1.25 speed and the deep voice combined with the VHS effect made it become an Analog Horror about the last broadcast of Rhodesia national TV with the combat footage looped

Mukumbura base callsign was Oscar Alpha, if I recall. My dad's stick was stationed there for a while, revved often. I can still remember his voice, faint but unmistakable, over the radio "read you fives, stand-by".. Still haunts me. Like the whine of an Alouette, or the thudding of a Bell chopper, the peppery smell of cordite. I scattered his ashes along the Zambezi north of Chirundu

I was in Mecumbura ( on the Portuguese side of the border). We use to trade goods with Rhodesians, specially Manica and 2M beer. What made our life miserable there was the weather (flipping hot), land mines and the ocasional ambush. The enemy was weak but treacherous and persistent. The Rhodesians would join us on patrol sometimes, I guess they were bored. They wanted action but that was nearly impossible since “gooks” were always on the run. We could not identify a peasant or a terr. All he had to do was hide his ak47. We all listened to LM Radio. That was 50 years ago.
