As someone who really enjoys this movie when a lot of other people I know don’t. I really enjoyed this video and you gave me so much to look out for on my next rewatch😁
I've never heard any genuinely well-founded criticisms of this film. Some of my friends complain about the two leads not being great singers, but that doesn't affect me. They're good enough for their roles. I've had people complain that they shouldn't have cast two white leads? That to me seems viciously racist. Some say that it "steals" too much from old movies, to which I'd say... yeah? That's the point.
@@thepositivepictureshowI’d also say that them not being the most amazing singers is also the point, its supposed to be realistic so that you could see yourself as the one in the movie singing (although i would say that they are actually very good singers soo i dunno?)
Have you seen Chazelle's unofficial trilogy "Whiplash", "La La Land", and "First Man"? They all examine the same theme with subtle but important differences.

@potatoatwork2795 yeah definitely. In order to create a finished product that people would actually watch and be moved by, I have to pour my entire heart and soul into it. Which isn't easy. Nor is it quick. But I appreciate the support nonetheless!

Great GREAT video. The end was fantastic. I feel like that could be its own video just describing the questions that this movie poses
i loved the ending of the video. ambition and love go hand in hand with arts and you have to sacrifice so much for a future. great video !
