  • This is a common problem for the touring series, 3 and 5 series when the glass hatch stops working due to moisture getting in to the micro switch and causing it to stop working.
    My dealer would charge me 150 euro to get this switch changed but you can easily buy one for like 2 dollars and then change it yourself now that you can open the hatch. Or change out the diversity antenna which also includes opening the glass hatch.

    Hi. Really thanks from Slovakia! This is much better as cut wires, or disassemble half of car, when you are not sure what really is broken. How me right now. I was not sure if switch is broken or something other, and now I dont hawe another new switch. So for know what is broken, this is fully proffesional and elegant work !! Thanks and have a nice day.

    Thanks very much.
    I couldn't get the rear window open, the key didn't work, and I was driving myself crazy to open it. Watching your video I figured out how to do it, I also managed to repair the key, in a very simple way, with a piece of electric wire. Looking forward to buying a new key.

    What about opening that split window when boot lid is out from the car? :)

  • @lux-3001
    @lux-3001 Před 3 lety +1

    Or, you just remove the wiper with the glass closed, pull off the switch, cut the two wires, peel off some insulation and join them together and it will pop it open. The button is broken and you will be replacing it anyway. ;)

    • @autoagge1015
      @autoagge1015  Před 2 lety

      Only works if the button is the problem, often it’s the wiring in the hinge or a faulty diversity antenna, both requires opening the glass hatch

    Hey! Do you know if all E91 have this bootable window? Have to change the whole tailgate and it's hard to know if it'll all fit or not, when looking at spares.

    • @autoagge1015
      @autoagge1015  Před 2 lety

      All E91 (wagons) have the bootable windows, it’s the same window on all models. Make sure you buy from the same car you have (pre facelift or facelift)
