Well, they’ve been working on it since 2005. It was supposed to come out in 2007 but it kept missing deadlines. I don’t think the movie was ever finished by the time it was finally released in 2012.

there’s a huge joke in the industry that TV stars are several levels below Hollywood film stars
All of the cast for the most part are C-list or B-list actors
they got some A-listers like Ed Asner, Christopher loyd who were in their later years at the time and needed a pay check.

If you don't set up your character properly before putting on a motion-capture suit then the computer will simply transpose the data how it sees fit. It's not a magic wand. It's a tool like any other.

Apparently some films have some kind of insurance that if you're not able to meet deadlines and production isn't going well, the insurance steps in and takes over the film, every last aspect. That's what happened to this film. The production crew was snuffed out and the movie had to be finished regardless of how it looked.

Funny enough years later we kinda got a successor to this. Where a bunch of people who never worked in animation before made an anime called Ex-arm and it was “declaring war against all of the SF series around the world!!” It’s looks even worse than foodfight in my opinion.
