  • Howdy folks and welcome, I hope this finds you well. Today I present something a bit different than my usual retrospective or review. My friend Elliot and I have embarked on the great journey from Madrid all the way to St. Petersburg, what we believe is the longest drive you can do in Euro Truck Sim.
What we didn't count on is how hard it would be without using the in game GPS and instead only use the in game map at rest stops.. this will be a long ride.
If any of this sounds good, buckle up, because this is going to be a road trip to remember.

Man, it's been 3 months since I finished my ATS 100%, and your video might be just the right amount of gateway drug to get me back into the swing of things with ETS 2. Don't do this to me, dad.

I’m waiting for them to release the whole US so we can do a cross country road trip. That’s amazing you did 100%, what was your favorite route? And car? Hehe I have no recommendation other than you doing what you feel is right for you : ) thanks for stopping by

@@Dog.Dad.Studios it was kind of a fever dream, so I can't really say I had a favorite route. However, the routes north and south of Montrose on highway 50 and 550 respectively are a nightmare to drive when you're lugging serious tonnage. When you're just cab and chassis, it's pretty nice.

    Hey great video :)
not sure if you knew this. If you press F3 you can hide the dialog box on your lower right of your screen. (Will make it more immersive for the no gps thing if you cant see floating gps close by :)
you can also increase brake intensity in i think its gameplay settings if you are struggling to see tail lights when they hit brake. (Will be useful also european trucks normally have very very good brakes)
if you did want cargo on future videos for long journeys you can use a tool such as ts se tool to create your own jobs so you can set the start point. And end point and what cargo it is.
If you are looking for a really incredible drive. And you have some money to buy every ets2 map dlc. I highly recommend looking into promods. Its 100% free and it adds a huge amount of the map to europe. You can also install part of the middle east. I done a drive from the top of iceland down to iraq and it took many many hours but it was incredible to witness scenery change as you cross the different countries i highly recommend. Great video was a lot of fun to watch and cant wait to see the next part!

Howdy! I can't express my full thanks in words, but I hope it comes across, I truly appreciate you taking the time to write all of this and help out with this information, not just for me, but anyone that sees this! Are the promods able to be used in multiplayer? That sounds like such an amazing experience, thank you for being comfortable enough to share it! Was that your favorite trip or was there another one that you liked even more? Next part should be coming out by the end of this week : ). Hope all is well!

@@Dog.Dad.Studios No problem :) yes promods can be used in multiplayer the only requirement is that anyone who wants to use promods will need to buy all of the map dlcs for euro truck simulator 2 and then they download promods for free. anyone in the multiplayer session needs to download it and own the dlcs aswell.
that was definitely my favourite trip I have ever done. you start in the snowy mountain roads of Iceland where there is ice on the road and blizzards to drive through. slowly making your way south and ending up in a desert with long stretches of road with no gas stations. It really is a trip worth doing. it makes you understand truly how unique each country is!
looking forward to seeing the next part and hope all is well with you aswell!

Sadly ETS2 - and ATS for that matter - spawn contracts in more or less random directions.
Meaning while possible cargo eastwards can be found due to the rather low level the target cities are limited.
It likely prolongs the journey they undertake by 50%.
Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, mind you.

to anyone who comes from one game (ets2/ats) and wants to play the other: you can literally copy the controls file from one game to the other. it somehow works
