Hi! I live in ⬆️state SC. Years ago my gardener told me to put a package of powdered dry milk in each hole before planting the tomatoes. I began doing this & have had NO blossom end rot since I began this practice. Thank you, Mr. McC.!
Such a beautiful garden from a beautiful lady with so many blessings. Keep growing 🎉
Hello you are my favorite gardener above all. I have a small garden also. A lot smaller than yours. I purchased the calcium antacid, Tums like from dollar tree. I’m going to crush a couple of tabs and place in the tomatoes bags. Someone said low calcium causes blossom end rot. I’ll see how that works.
Yes, Low calcium and infrequent watering causes blossom end rot. 🤦🏽♀️
nice to see a video
Good Morning! I’m glad you’re here!
Hi Asia, I am in The Greater NYC area zone 7B as well. On G. Pilarchik's channel, he discusses that paste tomatoes are more prone to blossom end rot. I am growing 2 pastes varieties both have blossom end rot. Happy growing!
Hi! 👋🏾 o ok that’s good to know. Love his channel. I hope yours and mine regulate a bit. Happy growing to you as well!
My paste tomatoes do the same 😢
@@jesswelsh9838 If you grow in bags or containers, try adding garden lime to the soil once your tomatoes start producing. Blossom end rot occurs in pots most times because once the nutrients you added in the beginning, are depleted, the plant roots can't forage for nutrients like in-ground plant roots can. Hence, you have to add garden lime and fertilizer periodically. Tomatoes and peppers are heavy feeders.
@Zora87Peace I'm growing in ground, I fertilize with a 4-4-4 NPK grandular once a month and liquid fish emulsion once a week. My soil is probably funky, though. I will get the lime, I didn't know about that, thank you! 🙏
Hey, Asia! I love, love, love your channel! I have a question that has plagued me since I have been gardening for years. How o on earth do you keep your nails so beautiful and garden? I used to get mine done regularly but digging in the garden always took its toll on them. I would love to get back my nice nails without giving up my gardening because that will never happen. Keep growing! ❤
I love how healthy your garden looks. Don't like spiders. I don't kill them in my garden but remove them. Arachnophobia here😂. But sometimes they crawl right back in the next day. Then they gots to go for good. Here we get some beautiful colored ones, so when it finds its way back after I gently removed it the day before, I know we are having a disagreement. I refuse to be run out of my garden. I used to but I'm getting stronger each season. You had a spider web on your left hand after you left the spider area. The light kept catching. I kept searching you for the spider that weaved it😂. You go girl. I wish I wasn't so scared.
Oooo Asia, my favorite way to eat fresh green beans from the garden is to blanch them in salted water, drain them, then throw them in a warm skillet and shake them around with some butter so it sort of emulsifies, squeeze a little lemon on them, and sprinkle with pepper and parsley. So delicious! I also had a lot of big harvests and smothered them in bacon drippings, bouillon, onion, and garlic powder until they were almost soft and then froze them in quart bags. When I want to use them, I dump a bag in a skillet and simmer them until most of the broth cooks out. Delicious and super easy side to have on hand! Everything looks so good! My garden in 9a is on the downhill slope but I’m steadily replanting stuff!
Yummy to both recipes!
That sounds so delicious
Asia, I love your humour & really enjoy your videos. Your garden looks very healthy & you've got a selection of peppers there, enjoy! I can remember when you were transplanting your seedlings & look at you harvesting now, isn't that wonderful. You inspire me. Take care.
SHALOM. I LOVE YOUR GARDEN GLOVES. YOUR GARDEN IS INSPIRING.
Good Morning! Thank you! I appreciate that!
Welcome home I don’t know if I spoke before but your personality is infectious. But I love the realness. That me all day everyday. I always wondered if there was a gardener like me. So watching you is like watching myself. But of course you are cuter lol thx for sharing. Keep juggling that schedule. Wish you could come to NYC and help me with my garden. But I know that’s just a dream. Blessings
Tomatoes need Calcium ,Calcium Nitrate or a quick fix is a handful of Lime in a bucket of water and water the plants.
Tomato tone is wonderful it's full of calcium
I'm in zone 8b SC. I started growing my squash upright by tying them to bamboo pole, and that has worked a lot better to give me squash and prevent the dreaded borer. I also interplant chives and potted mint to disguise them further. So far so good.
Thank you so much for being so bright!
I planted some honey boat squash, can't wait to see if it grows.
Girl no way those peaches would survive in my yard with the ongoing squirrel wars!!! 😩🤪 You are so fortunate not having to deal with that menace! 💜🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I would say a couple days at the most. Once they start to ripen, it goes pretty fast. I have the Florida King and the Harvester! Garden is lookin lush and beautiful as usual! 💜
Honey boats, I bet you can still plant seeds, they would probably grow fast too now.
Hello Asia! You have the most amazing things growing in the garden! I enjoy watching everything grow!🙏🏽💜💜💜🫂
I wait until the first week of May to plant outside too! Bc I'm from Cincinnati so you never know when our next frost is gonna be! 😂
Very enjoyable garden tour. 😊 Nothing like home grown.
Nicely done Asia, your CHICKENS must’ve been dying for some of those harvested herbs and vegetables trimmed to eat … plz give them some greenery’s to munch on so your eggs quality can be excellently delicious ❤🙏🇨🇦
Hey girl, I have missed you. I love your channel. You inspired me to do more and feel more comfortable on my channel. You are so smart!
Hi Asia, happy to see ya🤗
My bad they're called arm sleeve's they are beautiful seen them on Amazon again love your content and Videos.🎉🎉😊
I am excited for my garden. I had bought some shishito peppers plants from Ace Hardware and I picked some of the peppers that had grown too long on the plants and were starting to dry out off. And now I'm having them finish drying outside in the sun so that I can have my own seeds for next year and not have to buy any plants. I am too excited. I had bought these pepper plants because of how much you rave about them, so I really wanted to give them a try. I have more that are starting to produce and this time I'm going to try them in a recipe.
Hi Asia! I’m Aisha (pronounced long ‘A’ - sha. 😊) Glad I came across your channel. I have a small raised bed backyard garden in Georgia with red clay and rocky soil. I’m eager to learn in order to grow and expand my garden. Thanks for all of the your tips!!!
Hi gm we are here getting over hurricane Beryl this morning we are getting rain and wind but they said the worst has pass that’s great, your garden is looking beautiful veggies, fruits and flowers marigolds are gorgeous I get some but not those kind that you have I wanted those, beautiful, my tomatoes not one on the vines girl I keep planting and planting just to get some lol. Have a wonderful day
Your personality and your garden are everything. Love seeing it. :) I'm starting my urban garden up again after neglecting it for like a year and a half lol Wish me luck!
Hi Guys..Watching this vid..11.30cst. Peace to you Asia. The garden is looking lovely. Hearing about the blossom-end-rot issue and reading some of the comments. I'd like to add that "blossom-end-rot issue is usually indicative of a lack of calcium. You can add that by always rinsing your hen and/or duck eggshells, baking them in the oven (at 250) for about 20-25 mins, then grinding them in a seed or coffee grinder, sprinkling them around your tomato plants and watering them in. Since your plants are already growing you can take the finely grown shells and mix them with warm water in a blender..let the mixture sit for a couple of hours or overnight (allowing the calcium to leach into the water) and then pour it around the tomato plants and water in. We've had success with this method. This is an organic way of course, but you also buy a fertilizer with added calcium. Oh!..Also, when you initially plant out the tomato seedlings ..mix some of the ground eggshells in with the soil and then plant. Chances are you won't see this issue anymore.
Hi casual, I'm in zone 10. I put some gypsum in container or soil when transplanting tomatoes to prevent end rot. That part seems to work so far!
Love your videos! I'm excited to see you use some of your plants medicinally. I'm thinking of making some teas and I'm researching some easy recipes now. I'm terrible at actually using my harvest other than the easy stuff we munch on. Thanks for being so chill and relatable 😊
Thanks for sharing!!!! Your garden is thriving!!!
Hey! Blossom end rot is due to a lack of calcium in the soil. Love the garden tour, it looks so full and lush
Hey there my fishing and gardening friend. It's called Blossom End Rot because yes, the Roots can/are not able to absorb the nutrients it needs to prevent diseases. In this case, it's Calcium. Dried Egg Shells that are powdered and mixed into the soil at the root area will show Immediate improvement. Pleeeese try it. It's better than losing some more tomatoes to find out what is happening. Thanks for reading.

I bought some terracotta garden spikes from Amazon to use with my many many wine bottles. 🤣 I haven’t used em yet because I’m still building beds. That might be a cool option for supplementing your sprinkler system. Or the hole poke style drip system with juice jugs or soda bottles. 🎊
Your garden looks gorgeous as ever. I love to see all that green. Those pink cornflowers are gorgeous too. I think that is what they are called. I want to grow those next year. I am laughing at you because I said the same thing...I am not pruning anything this year, LOL
Luv the sleeves, where you g get t them from❤😊
Thank you! I got them from Farmer’s Defense. These are the best I have had so far. They fit well and have holes for your thumbs.
Good morning!!
Good Morning!
Bugs, I have seen people using a hand vacuum to capture then dispose of them. Its on my list to try!
Asia, awesome garden. I just purchased raw land in the Ozarks, and I'm going to implement some of the things I've learned from you. ❤❤❤
Looking great, hon 😊
Love your content, sis. The plants that look terrible will make a come back soon.
Hey DMV neighbor I’m coming over there with my basket 🤣🤣
Lol hey! Come on!!
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead 🥰🥰🥰
I’m really excited to see if your grapes mature !,there’s so many clusters on my vines but they aren’t maturing . Google keeps saying it’s because I didn’t prune the vines back , so we’ll see . . The Japanese beetles are also devouringgggg the leaves so I’m jealous to see your leaves full & un touched lol
Your garden is beautiful (as always) ❤🎉
Girl your garden is beautiful I live in Texas and I lost cucumbers and all my squash to the Heat😔
Oh yeah, sun golds r the bomb. And plentiful
Love your garden, happy gardening 😊

Hey Asia you have a very beautiful garden very great job
Thankyou for sharing. Love your garden ideas.
I’m going to need to start when you start. My garden is behind.
Also Asia look out for a gift on your Amazon list.
Hey girl, hey~! Speaking of squash, I have goats and somehow there is a volunteer squash growing in their pen 😮😂. By the way, I’m not far from you also 7b. Happy growing and love your channel 💕
add a little epsom salt around anything with blossom end rot.....it will help give the plant magnesium and calcium and will allow the plant to pull up nutrients better....not much, a tbsp per plant is enough :)
I love your content🥰
Hello Asia get tums and put in the dirt of that plant and water it should work right away
Hi Asia. I'm so jealous that you're able to grow the blue butterfly pea. Mine would not germinate for me and tried all the things; soaking and scarification. 😢
They offer GREAT health benefits, so I really wanted it. Happy growing friend, your garden looks awesome!❤😊
🙋🏾♀️Grest Day🌞Miss You All 😎 Great to 👀😎👀 you BACK

I’m in NY n I’m having the same issue with my Roma tomatoes, they have blossom enrot I pulled out the bad tomatoes and I fertilized the pot, mine is not about the water I think is calcium so I added calcium.
Calcium Nitrate, or quick fix a handful of lime in a bucket of water to water.
