- Steve Earle & The Del McCoury Band perform "Carrie Brown" live at the Farm Aid concert in Tinley Park, Illinois on October 3rd, 1998. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Del always looks like he's just enjoying every minute. And the music is stellar ! Thank you Steve Earle and Del mccoury for making the world a better place.
Unbelievably good. I'm pretty sure there are thousands out there that have no idea just how good this live recording is. Brilliant vocals and astounding musicianship. :-)
... and the way they just integrate this one-mic-problem into a sort of dance AND get the sound just right and fade out at the end! Geniusses having a good time!
Even Del couldn't tame Steve. Two great talents.
No kidding. Both such phenomenal musicians and both completely different in demeanor and form. The partnership was so cool while it lasted, but it was bound to explode.
doesn't seem like 20 years since i bought the mountain. still gets a play every now and then. still brilliant.
No kidding I thought the same thing today. How time gets away. I was so excited to get that album.
All that sound through a single Mike. Love the choreography around the Mike!
“I shot him in Virginia & he died in Tennessee!” What a lyric! I feel like I witnessed this murdered in State Street in Bristol outside the Paramount Theater.
Love Steve Earle. Love his style and voice. I bought CD The Mountain and every song is fantastic. I've been an Earle Fan since Guitar Town. I've been to 2 of his concerts and they were just fantastic. Thank You for posting this.
Marlene Phillips been hooked on Steve since the same album. Definitely a part of the soundtrack to my life
I've loved Earle for 30 years. And my 10 year old daughter loves his music as well. I've seen him many times and have taken her twice. Hope we get to see him many more times.
Love this ...Steve awesome doing bluegrass..he should do more country and more bluegrass
Such a great album
The best in the game today
Fantastic song. Two thumbs up. Enjoy this song.
Best version.
Steve E. Looks so handsome in his suit coat..
genius! Thanks for all the good work!
I love steve earle, and think he has a great voice. But McCoury's voice is so sublime, that think even vocal harmonisation with McCoury should be avoided.- Tho im sure many, and probably Mr Mccoury himself, would disagree. Personally, i think his voice is the most beautiful singing voice of all time.
But it all adds up the sum of sweet, sweet country music.
Peace.
Good song
Nice song!
Holy smokes!
Steve looks like he was suffering the same as his late son R.I.P love to you Steve and see you next time your in Perth Scotland
"I shot him in Virginia, He died in Tennessee"
I love steve, but ...anyway just beautiful
Thought this was a scene from Tommy Boy for a second.
Back away from the mike, and the song fades out. That's wild.
Will you play something with patty loveless and Travis tweet as a duet.
5 STING BAN JO
Well, Steve, I'm gonna have to give you a thumbs up despite your wacky politics.
