    I think i'm going to pick this up for my makeup kit. you're right about not wanting to rub your hands all over a clients face. I think most people will be impressed that I have skincare brushes and I love adding those special little steps that people in general don't do for themselves.

    • @Msleonoraful
      @Msleonoraful Před 6 lety +4

      Katie Hart I disagree as long as your hands are clean it feels really nice to have someone rub cream in your face. Nothing is relaxing as skin on skin

      Leonora Nicol Most people I know wouldn't want their face being touched by the bare hands of a stranger for many different reasons. I'm immune compromised so I can understand that end of it...I do my own makeup and if I need someone else to do it, I bring them my own products. I also live with and have worked with people who have OCD, some of whom won't even touch ME. It's very courteous for OP to think of what their clients may like and to give them options.

      I was thinking the same thing about the set for my makeup kit. I especially liked the moisturizer brush and lip exfoliator because it didn’t look too harsh. I wonder if something like cinema secrets brush cleaner can clean the brushes since they are bristles instead of natural or synthetic hair.

    The exfoliating brush reminds me of the concept of dry brushing your body to get rid of dead skin. Also, I've started using a small flat foundation brush to apply masks and it's amazing how I can apply the product more smoothly and get in smaller areas like around my nose. This set is pretty unique!

      Yes! It much more easier with a flat brush and a lot less messier. I hate rubbing off face masks from my hands especially peel off ones. They are so tacky when wet.

      @marianniezayas1531 Před 6 lety +1

      Also, I usually apply my masks & face products at my makeup table in my room. When I use a brush I don't have to go into the bathroom to wash my hands before applying the mask (Just to make sure my hands are sanitized before touching my face) and then after to get the goop off.

    Using a brush for moisturizer is great for those of use with redness. I use less pressure with a brush than with my hands. I have been using a flat foundation brush for this. I think Real Technique is on to something. Thanks for sharing!

      My deem who diagnosed rosacea recommended a damp sponge for foundation, washed between uses with soap and warm water and air dried. She said fingers or brushes were okay, too, but to go by what is less irritating, and sponges are usually less so if used with a bouncy feel. She also likes that they take off excess product and even the coverage for rosacea. I asked her if I was still okay with brushes around my eyes and she said basically I should go by what works and doesn't irritate.

    • @zimm2295
      @zimm2295 Před 6 lety

      Lisa R That makes a lot of sense, now that you say it! I'll need to try that out, since my skin gets red super easily from any pressure involved with applying skincare. Just need to decide if a flat foundation brush or one meant for skincare might be better 🤔

    For me, the thing is that I would have to fully clean those brushes every single day because it's super important to me to make sure my skincare routine is very hygenic, especially because my skin is sensitive. So applying moiturizer with a brush that has old moisterizer still in it is a bad idea and I really don't have the time or the patience to fully clean such a brush every single day. Hands work better; so much easier to just wash your hands.

    You should try blending moisturizer with a beauty blender! Holy crap it absorbs so much less than my hands do. My hands are so dry that I think they absorb most of my moisturizers but ever since I started using the BB, I haven’t turned back! Especially for SPF, I think it applies so much more evenly. My night cream I tend to like how it feels on my hands so dampening the B.B. isn’t a priority for that, but for day cream, it’s essential for me lol

    I can see why this would be beneficial for a working makeup artist, but I don't think it's necessary for the average person. If fact, I prefer using my hand to apply skincare. Now that I'm in my forties my hands need the same treatment as my face, neck, and décolleté . I rub in the excess essence, serums, extracts, oils, and moisturizers on to the back of my hands, so no product is wasted.

Anyway, I guess these products are out there. Shoutout to real techiniques for getting it out to the masses and making them approachable and accessible. Side note. If you shop the sale I'd love to know what you pick up. I have stuff in my cart but haven't checked out....so much seems like it needs to just be moved, but I wonder if there are any gems we're missing.

    I think I'd really be into this set. Need to look for this @Wal-Mart. Thank you for making this video Emily! The cooling ball or he under eye has me intrigued. At 40 now, these items can be helpful but now must haves. A definite fun idea. The dry facial brush is cool too!
    My husband got me he mother load of sheet/facial masks for Christmas, from Target and Ulta. I used one of the "hydrating" sheet masks from Burts Bees last night. It was so nice! Those suckers are cooling too! My hubs said he learned a lot in Ulta about hylaronic acid and what other ingredients do for the skin "I got a little inservice" from the sales associate at Ulta and even another customer was helping him out. He said he asked her "What's a Tony Moly?" He is too cute. He said he searched the store for the last Mario Bedesco drying lotion in the plastic bottle, instead of the glass bottle, he did find 1. I would inevitably break it and be upset. He said it was kinda funny all the significant others wondering around looking for different items on their lists. Very sweet that they helped him find things I had written down.

    The version of this set we have in the UK is slightly different. The eye roller is so good, the mask brush is useful, but we had a blending sponge with its own stand, and a bottle scraper to get the last bits out of the foundation bottle etc. So all in all a useful set and good value about 8 pounds. The eye roller is definitely my favourite. Happy Birthday Emily.

    Mary Kay has an eye cream where the product comes out of a cooling tip. They recommend putting it in the fridge to make it even more cooling. The tip is quite a bit smaller then this Real Techniques one. It does feel good under the eyes.

However, I’m just coming out of a bad cold and tried those gel beads face mask you can use either cold or warm and it really relieves the sinus stuffiness also ordered a diffuser that changes color from Amazon $35.00 and found so helpful besides, smells great adding oils and looks pretty too in the bedroom. :)

    I have an older version set of this - it had one of their beauty sponges, the eye roller, moisterizer brush, and a kinda flimsy what looked like cutical stick that was evidently just for picking up product from jars (which is more hygenic so I do appreciate just don't actually use) and the roller ball is so so so nice!!

  • @wirinaholstein4076
    @wirinaholstein4076 Před 6 lety +1

    If thinking solely about how to get most effect out of skincare, by using hands you warm up the product a bit while applying it to the skin. The warmth will open pores slightly and the molecules of the skincare ingredients that are small enough to cross the skin barrier will be absorbed better and therefore you will get better effect of the product by using your hands to apply. But if the skincare comes in a tub and you don't use an applicator but dip fingers into the tub then the product will break down faster due to exposure and bacteria from your fingers. That means the product won't be the same nor have the same effect al throughout using it up.

    That was exactly what I thought when I saw that eye roller ball thingie - it would feel so good when I feel that migraine coming on, dabbing some cold oil around and massaging it in with that sucker! Those flat foundation brushes are great for masks, but I definitely like warming moisturizers and stuff up a bit with my body heat while I'm working it in.. seems like my skin would just absorb it better. It is a nice thing for MUA's doing others skin prep stuffs, though!

    Def going to buy it. However, I think the second brush I will be using it for face masks that come in a jar. I have no problem with applying my moisturizer with my hands but face masks are too messy sometimes so I think it’s best for that. The first brush looks fantastic for dry brushing your face and using it as a draining massage tool, if you know what I mean.

    Well I believe in skincare brushes, but I simply buy a few extra softer $1.00 & $2.00 FOUNDATIIN brushes from ELF or a dollar tree makeup section and buy the elf foundation brushes to apply my face creams,and face mask, (no I don't buy elfs mask brush for 5 bucks).
    (Of course I will dip My CLEAN BRUSH IN MY JAR, better then fingers in jars).
    I use less product, because it's the synthetic elf foundation brush, it doesn't absorb product like a natural bristle brush would. Plus I think I get better coverage. If you want to buy an extra elf synthetic concealer brush for eyes creams you could, I still might, but I can still use my foundation... Keeps my products cleaner and less germs on my face..Watch how many things you touch to get to makeup table after you wash your hands..doorknob, drawer knob etc...you will be shocked how many things you actully touch after you Wash your hands, and before you apply products to your face.. so yes I have about 10 extra elf foundation brushes in a cup strictly for my face cream, eye cream, face sunscreens..
    I gave done this for about 2 years now, and I swear I get less breakouts.
    And the brushes of creams are so fast and easy to wash out each week..with soap and little bit extra warmer water.
    And I'm ready for new week..I'm going to buy a few more..because I'm better at washing them every week and a half. Do I need those other brushes..No, absolutely not.
    But I think, especially if you have break outs, you should use brush to apply creams, plus keep fingers out if jars. but I just like it better, and it just seems better, I'm used to doing it that way, it feels natural.. Try it out, its worth it.

    As a Master Aesthetician, I have always used brushes for skin care and a separate beauty sponge for moisturizer. These look perfect so many multi tasking purposes . That dry brush would be great for an exfoliation product pair. I would put the eye roller brush in the fridge in a plastic bag for deeper cooling effect. The lip exfoliation brush looks like it would be good for blackheads on the nose as well. The other brush is perfect for masques, serums , chemical peels etc. Just have to see how they hold up being washed + sterilized. And for that price I could buy 2 sets.. or more for the price of one of my brushes ..Thank you for sharing this awesome find. Heading to Wal-Mart tomorrow... xoxox

I finally got it in Nov and that piece alone is worth 20 bucks. I used mine with Clinique and IT under eye cream....LOVE being able to REALLY get the creams and hyloronic acid smooshed into all the fine lines too...for an extra boost dip it in a glass of ice and dab it off and roll it on. I think that cream/serum brush might be nice for applying masks. The dry brush I would be interested in, since my skin gets flaky. That roller would be nice in the morning...maybe get a glass of ice water to put the thing in when it starts to get warm?
    I wonder if that little lip brush would work on my face when I've just put on foundation and realize it's clinging to a few flakes. Seems like that wouldn't mess up the rest of my makeup as much as it does when I have to go in with a warm, wet washcloth to scrub off flakes that "appeared" when I put my foundation on.
    This seems like a "spa day" kind of kit to me. I think it would be a fun gift idea for anyone who enjoys taking bubble baths with a sheet mask on. I wonder why this wasn't out and hyped for Christmas...? Maybe it was and I missed it.

    My top 3 brushes in that is the roller ball, the one use for primer and the lip scrub brush. The dry exfoliate I am kind of iffy about.
