A few added tips: I have a custom button for crop mode & I re-mapped the record button (as I use the shutter button) so that I could get one more custom button! I toggle between manual and aperture priority with the exposure compensation dial all the time. Great tips!
Setting the panarama crop in a memory is a fun idea! I'm definitely going to try that.
It’s very refreshing! You still have to manually crop in Lightroom to 21:9
Just discovered your page and have learned a ton! Now using the same memory recall settings, so appreciate the tips!
Glad I could help you out man. Thanks for watching!
This video was perfect timing for me. I've just ordered an A7Cii and 50mm 2.5. My decision to go for the A7Cii was mostly down to the awesome content you've produced on this channel. I'll get the 24mm next but need to wait a bit to soften the financial hit!
Honestly, thank you for producing some incredible work and such useful videos.
Hey thanks for watching man! Enjoy your new camera :)
I haven’t figured out a good solution for the 3rd custom dial spot on my camera. Loved the tip!
Glad I could help!!
Gonna get out there and take more photos!!!
Thank you for your tips and videos, always a pleasure to see them.
The a7cr has 8 fps, do you feel the lack of the 2 fps compared to the a7c's 10 fps or do you not consider it a lack?
Thank you buddy
Do you have a video on how to save custom settings to the “1, 2, 3” options?
I could make an entire video going over the custom dials and their usefulness!
Appreciate the work and effort, lovely photos and very inspiring. I purchasedan a7cr after watching your recent videos. I have a question: the camera makes a noticeable vibration and wobbling sound when turned on, is that normal? Its like a kick inside the body. Or should I get another copy?
I think it's normal :) something to do with the image stabilisation turning on
dylan!! could you make more chill photowalks? i absolutely love those videos that you made!
I’ve been trying to make more recently. Next video will be a Photowalk! The goal is to have at least every other video for the rest of the year be a photo walk!
Thanks so much for your videos, I finally found a way to take widescreen photos. But I found that when I connected the memory card to a computer to read it, the photos displayed were still in full-frame proportions. Is there any way to directly record widescreen photos?
There is not, just apply a 21:9 aspect ratio to your photo in Lightroom and it will match!
I found myself using the auto mode (A7CII and A7RV) most of the time. I'm lazy...LOL. The out of camera results are pretty good to my eyes. All I do in post is play with contrast and such. These new Sony cameras are pretty amazing.
Haha you’re not lazy… you’re smart!
Thank you for the video. What lense have you used when recording this video?
35mm 1.4 GM!
My biggest question since I got my 7CM2 is how to get rid of that “Sel. Focus Point On/Off” text on the screen.
Hi quick question: got my a7cii now :) but hesitant between either a second hand sigma 35mm f2 or the sony 35mm f1.4 GM as my daily driver for street, environmental portraits and travel. Which one would you pick if you'd had the choice?
Honestly for everything you mentioned the Sigma 35 f2 is perfect. I’m currently in the process of selling my 35mm 1.4 GM because while the image results are perfect, it’s just too heavy on the A7C for me personally
@@DylanBlackburn yeah I might be too focussed on wanting the best, could better spend the extra money on other lenses :) thanks
@@editsbydaan6048 yeah I would put that money toward another lens or another day or two of travels!
composition > the fact that you know the way to setup your camera(so you can use auto). These days every camera you could pick is decent and you need to know only few basic stuff in order to shoot, more important is the composition... that's why there are good photographers that use only an iphone.
Agreed!
Yeah like those iphone "photographer" only show up 10 images per year and they become "pro" why other took milions show like 50k photos and you guy just "meh!"
I’m ur biggest fan
Crazy, I’m your biggest fan
I'm still trying to figure out the A7CII..I need to shoot low iso which means I need fast shutter under studio lighting ..but then it looks too dark..
Sounds like you need a brighter light!
@DylanBlackburn I have 2 light boxes.. just got the 90mm sony lens today.. still trying to figure it all out 😆
I wish i could set a priority for what it overrides in darker settings... Or just *not* have it override ever, actually
Also the only time I shoot iso 100 is when I'm scanning film 😅
I agree. Don’t understand why it’s not an option
Hello! What is that silver thingy on the bottom of the camera? It looks sick!
It’s the silver baseplate by Smallrig!
@@DylanBlackburn It really does compliment the silver variant camera 😮
@@pasionreinereliazherg.5767I agree. I immediately bought it once I saw Dylan got it for his camera
@@pasionreinereliazherg.5767 I think it’s a must have if you have a silver A7CII or R!
I have the black body and I use the silver baseplate. I don't mind the color at all.
please show us u photography settings? raw, PP, creative look etc. I'll wait -_-
I mention and link multiple times in the video to my videos going over the exact settings I use! Toward the beginning and end… or just go to my channel hahaha
The aspect markers don’t translate to the actual photo. They appear to import as normal aspect ratios
Quite an effecient video.
Hey now, efficiency is key lol
