Aaron, you have no idea how much respect I have for you! I listened to every word that you said attentively. You have solved what is the biggest question, "What is the key to happiness". It is not money (funny coming from an investment banker) it is finding what you want to do and finding the ability to have free time to pursue your passions. Dont have guilt over it- you deserve it! i always tell people "its not about the money, dont make it about the money. Get into something you are PASSIONATE about, bc, When its a passion, you eat, drink & sleep it." your brain will be thinking about it 24/7 even wen you dont think your brain is thinking about ALL aspects. your success will come & the money "follows" success. And it wont feel like work!

You are also correct that time freedom is the ultimate goal. I retired at 31 from the NFL and aside from tending to my kids I’ve enjoyed time freedom for the last 11 years and it is the holy grail.

It’s no blarney that Madeleine is a paragon of positivity. Not only is she one of the most charming people we have ever met, she sold our home in just ten days! I’ve been a subscriber to your channel for awhile because I love all the action filmed and narrated with such a calm and laid back attitude and no machismo. My favorite videos are the ones filmed in the mangroves - even after 38 years, I still find it incredible that trees can grow in salt water and the mysteries of the abundant life that resides within them. If you inspired even one person to get out of their rut and start living their best life then you've done one hell of a good deed. My story was figuring out how to just move to Florida and buy a house and a big boat as a single man. It took me a good while and a lot of work but I made it happen and am happy as a clam. I have a decent home, two boats, two motorcycles and no woman dragging me down :)

You may know my stepson, Kirk Dudley. He lived in the keys, lobster fished, crabbed, worked at AT&T doing cable, and had a small charter business. Unfortunately he passed away last year. He was a good young man. RIP

I've always said for years that Key West will be my end destination. The lifestyle just calls my name. As a current boat captain in Miami, watching this video convinced me of my dream even more. Keep it up brotha. Living vicariously through your content in the meantime 🤙

This is awesome. Showed up on my feed today. I was miserable living in Michigan and on one October day in 2001 it snowed sideways and that was the earliest I had ever seen snow. I packed my stuff and quit my job and was down the road the very next day. Blah blah wound up hitting every boat on Charterboat Row until I finally got my shot. 17 years later and totally blessed I got married and moved away but those 17 years fishing on very busy boats and living my dream is another example of Aaron's adventure and proof it can be done but also like he said it comes at a cost. 75 to 80 hrs a week is a grind nobody other than a guide could understand but I wouldn't have traded it for anything. Good stuff man!!!!!

I've only started to watch this channel and have enjoyed your content. I only recently experienced Key West and can attest to how difficult it is to start a new beginnings in that region. Most young people we ran into held 2 to 3 jobs and shared an apartment away from the area they wanted to be. But what I saw was a lot of determination and love for the area. If you want something you truly want, then there is going to be a lot of hard work involved. It can be done. Just take a look at Aaron. Cheers. Oh, keep up the great content. Man I really glad I watched this video. I started watching your videos because I love to hunt and fish and love to watch fishing and hunting shows. I’m from Northeast Texas. My wife and I started a wild hog processing shop. We are just starting out. Business has not been very good. I’ve almost closed it down. You gave me some hope to keep it going. We have been struggling to get our name out there. I work at sawmill full time. This video has moved me to keep on pushing. Thank you sir.

I went fishing with a guide in Key West several years ago. Him and his wife vacationed KW every year from NY, on a trip back home they came up with the idea about walking away from their corporate jobs and moving. He said they found a rental house and purchased a older model jeep in KW. Sold everything in NY, moved to the small rental house in KW, he is a guide and his wife is a bartender, said they couldn't be happier.
My wife and I go to Marathon from NC every year on vacation, I rent a canal house and take by bay boat. I work remotely as a sub-contract architectural engineer, from time to time we discuss buying a house in Marathon FL and just sale our house and land in NC, head to the keys.

Brother the biggest shift for me personally was the mindset. That allows us to create the life we want. Time is more valuable than money and I know we all need cashflow. Great job brother. I came across one of your videos awhile ago and found that it very entertaining. But more than anything, your lifestyle is kind of what many of us fishermen would love to have, its paradise on earth. Your right though, from watching your videos we think that all you do is go out and have fun everyday and we don't realize the hard work it takes to make that happen. My nephew just moved to Florida from california and he has the same attitude as you and his dream is to fish and live a life where he is surrounded by adventure and fishing! I’ve subscribed to your channel simply because I enjoyed your chill attitude…no noise, no hype…just a normal guy sharing his life story (so far) with the world. I’m born, raised, and live in the middle of the USA.. it is beautiful and I am grateful. However, I do enjoy a trip to the ocean on occasion and the one and only state I’ve visited to do just that is FLORIDA! ❤️

I watch this channel every day when I'm not dispatched to wildfires and it's the only thing that calms my mind down I think it's something to do with how calm you are and how knowledgable you are. I also really like how you treat your friends and family, if I ever come out to the keys I will definitely be giving spearfishing a try just to see the Key West Waterman Aaron Young!

Aaron, loved hearing your story! Super transparent, and your story really reflects in the videos you put up. It is no small feat to maintain your work ethic in the keys, while I have met plenty of people of varying degrees of success there over the years. I have met an equal or greater amount that just scrape by and job hop from place to place. It comes down to work ethic and vision and you really have done it, good for you its super impressive! Hopefully, you will keep the content coming.

Congratulations, man! Honestly happy for you, as a fellow Florida Native I get the dream of living in the Keys/Key West thing. Kinda like most people's dream of moving to Beverly Hills and having an insane amount of money I guess.
Growing up in Miami I spent a lot of time fishing, diving and hunting in the Uppers, back in the 90's. Got too crowded for me. West Coast Florida shark tooth diver now. Best wishes.

Wow, your story is similar to mine, well some aspects. I met my wife 7rs ago in Cape Coral. She is literally like your wife, so positive and I am certainly the negative one but we balance each other out. She does real estate also and has helped us move several times and believe it or not we are moving again, back to Florida. We both have a love for fishing and everywhere we go that is always our top concern. My story about moving is to long to mention but we both see it as a journey so far. I will be in Florida in a month and we are considering a vacation to the Keys, if money permits. We have seen a lot of hardship since Covid began and we are hoping to put all of that behind us. I appreciate your story and honesty, I think good things happen to good people.

Cool story. The American dream is alive and well for anyone that is willing to work for it! I just closed on a home in KW a week ago, and I had the pleasure of working with Madeleine. Loved this video bro. Only started watching your channel recently and can"t stop watching now. I recently got my first boat about 7 months ago, something I thought I could never achieve because of all the negative comments from family members and certain people, as owning a boat here in Trinidad where I live is quite expensive. But I always say, "when theres a will, theres a way" and well, I found a way. Now I cant get out there enough, any time off Im out there fishing or exploring. Anyway, love your videos, keep them coming ! Dibs on bottom! lol
