    Very clean articulation, very musical performance. Now come on, folks, you can certainly step up the frequency of your videos a bit! Will we have to wait two years for the next one??

    A wonderful perfect performance that proves that conductors (of most orchestral compositions) are superfluous :-)

      Actually i'm pretty sure some musician is leading the performance. There has to be some kind of guidance, always. Maybe the figure of the conductor is not strictly needed always, but it's very important that there's somebodo to follow to. I tell you this from my performer experience in jazz orchestras and ensembles (where we ussually play without a conductor).
      Also, the conductor it's not there only to "conduct". He's also placed in the right place to percive a good balance of the ensemble, and therefore he can make corrections in the music, such as speed, dynamics, etc... Better than a performer can do.
      Not to mention that the conductor is not playing an instrument when music is being performed, so he can focus all of his attention to leading, and as I said, percieving things that can be improved or made better in the musical performance.
      So, do you need a conductor? Not necessarily, but I defenitely would't say it's superfluous ;)

      @@mikelgabiolaleniz I’m with you. Blowing in a loud piece like this gives you a distorted impression of the sound in front. Someone has to play the judge and captain of the ship.

      Given the complete lack of any apparent audio recording equipment, I'm going to guess that the audio we heard is not actually the audio from what we saw. I would hazard a further guess that what we heard is a recording made in a studio...probably with a conductor or other leader.

    Why do the trumpets look different

    • @Baribrotzer
      @Baribrotzer Před 2 lety +5

      They're German trumpets. German trumpets, as used in German orchestras, are sideways and have rotary valves.
      Also, German clarinets have slightly different fingering, French bassoons are different in a number of ways, and Vienna French-horns have odd double piston valves.
