Dylan Talks Tone Recieves Commision From Some Of These Links - Zábava
I think Dylan got it right. My biggest strategy for avoiding parameter paralysis is start with my base tone. For me, that’s a bit of a moving target, that’s usually the AC15 basic tone or the Fender Princeton. Then I add one effect at a time experimenting until I’m sonically inspired.
This is why I like my NUX MG30 there aren't hundreds of amp models and effects. It has a relatively small selection but does them well
It took me a while to settle on 4 settings I liked for my spark devices. I don’t ever open the app anymore. I start messing with options and think they sound good at the time but then the next day don’t like it. I had my Boss katana so screwed up from adjusting options on the computer I finally just did a factory reset and traded it in.
I liked the Yamaha DG Stomp. Good amount of options without being confusing.
I stick with one type of tube amp which is tweed style and Strat and Boss overdrive pedals. It sounds like a boring 1990s rig but after trying many options, I was very surprised that this “boring” rig sounded the best for me.
Why is that boring?
Tweed amps are great, strats are popular for a reason and Boss is known for great overdrive pedals.
The only thing that might be boring is what you choose to play; you’ve got a great starting point for something interesting. If you’re waiting for inspired gear to inspire your playing you’re doing it wrong
@@honkytonkinson9787 I didn’t mean that it’s literally boring. I meant that in today’s modern world, it may be considered generic. I tried other gear but in the end, the Tweed amp, Strat and Boss surprised me as my favorite that I love the most
@@ramencurry6672 ah, gotcha.
I’m probably boring too. I have a tweed vibrolux clone, with a strat and a Les Paul. I have a bunch of pedals but I usually just do overdrive.
I think a cure to GAS might just be finding a tone that you just can’t stop using!
Im on a train to London, this uses my time travel, very good listening 😂
Option paralysis for sure. I have a Mustang IV. Too many options. I start out using a Line 6 M13. Add, subtract and change effects to a song to where I like it. I will then switch to my pedalboard to tweak what I want.
Having no money helps when making decisions
Some of us Gear Nuts have spouses that can prevent "Option Paralysis" for us in advance by taking away our credit cards... and that's one more reason to own God and Silver folks!
Too many options and too few small makers are known. To the op, never more than 3 fx at once.
I own 40+ pedals, I have a collection set up that is pretty sweet
