Fight for this country? What country? Whose country? Whose institutions? Whose traditions? Whose values? What collective memory?
I grew up loving this country only to see it betrayed, given away, destroyed by a sick, self-satisfied, cultureless elite.
Islam. The answer is most likely you would be fighting for a future Islamic state of Britain.
And we would be fighting to protect our Government, politicians, Mp’s, Government in waiting, the hierarchy and the Elites, only to keep them where they are in the positions that they hold and to protect the powers that they have . When the “War” is over, if we are lucky enough to have survived that war, We would be chucked back on whatever scrap heap they dragged us from to fight the war for them and when it’s all over the Government, hierarchy and the Elites can then return to selling us all and our country even further down the river until this country and our way of life, culture and values no longer exist and it’s no longer recognisable as the England and the United Kingdom that it once was. In effect, this has already happened, but they’re not done yet, they want to go further and war will be used as a weapon to do so, they will kill the people, destroy the country and rebuild it as they want in their image.

The US was spawned by Britain, our national language is English, and the founding fathers were influenced by English (and many other) thinkers, so it's not really a surprise. I think the US isn't as far down the path as the UK.....it's sad to me though, as an American who has certainly some Scottish ancestry and maybe English too.

Sorry mate. I have been a soldier, a police officer and a civil servant and in each job I watched the establishment dismantle the hard won, carefully crafted and brilliantly organised systems created over a century and a half.
As a soldier I was made redundant as a result of defence cuts
As a police officer I watched an institution respected by the majority of the population smashed to pieces by the McPherson Report and the Home office Madarins bought and paid for by the Blair regime and now rightly despised as jackbooted cudgels of social change
Lastly as a civil servant battered with ‘diversity’ courses and watching barely capable people being promoted as a result of their protected characteristics

The country I grew up in and loved no longer exists. My hometown, Prestwich, four miles north of Manchester was a beautiful place and, in less than a century, Paradise was lost. Largely untouched by the blitz suffered by Manchester we had so much to look forward to. We had a town hall in lawned grounds, rolling parklands, well maintained parks and extensive woodlands. We had a police station and policemen we knew we could call upon for help, but the days of Dixon of Dock Green are long gone. We had fire and ambulance stations, a reservoir and a local newspaper. We could always see our doctor and he would come out at night if called to do so. Homelessness was unheard of as prefabricated houses were built. We had local hospitals and a goods yard at the railway station. We could cross the main road with ease and shop at a multitude of local shops owned by people who knew us. Our mothers could let us as children wander off through the woods and fields without fear of molestation. Then came the motorway, the beech trees were chopped down, the wildlife disappeared, the shops morphed into supermarkets or became tattoo parlours, fast food outlets or charity shops. I hate what has happened to my town, consoled only by the fact that, at 85 years of age, I won’t have to endure it for much longer. My father survived Dunkirk and he would turn in his grave if he knew what he fought for. The youngsters of today have grown up unaware of how hideous life today is in comparison to the idyllic life I had. I am an old (very old) soldier, and I was very proud to serve. Fast-forward to a totally different country now, where I have now become a second class citizen in my own country. I certainly would not sign up today, not a chance! They could always try a certain religious group, who seem to get much more respect from officialdom than I do......

At 69 years old, I have never felt so despondant of how things have got so bad. There is nothing whatsoever to look forward to. The government openly despise us, we are over run with immigration, I see families and communities in total desperation, relying on food banks, unable to heat their homes or losing their homes and anyone claiming benefits being accused of being fraudsters. An NHS in total crisis, anyone of pensionable age is a "burden on society" and industry left to rot.
Margaret Thatcher once stated that we working class people are "the enemy within" and that is exactly how this government see us today.

To clarify, Margaret Thatcher had planned to say that militant miners and the Labour party were "the enemy within", stating that the Labour party had been "hijacked" by the "enemies of democracy" (look up Frankfurt School). Not a fan of Thatcher as she's a quasi-conservative, but it was Blair who swung the country far to the left and a subsequent conservative not-conservative party which carried on his underlying policies.
