I’ve had many different jobs in my day
some were very difficult one might say
many hours of farm work were done in my youth
many other laborers you might call uncouth
for example I once set up pins in a bowling alley
handled two lanes at a time and couldn’t dilly dally
it sure was hard work for a high school kid
but the money was good for the hard work I did
on Sundays I would caddy at our local golf course
Usually I carried two bags and worked like a horse
we had many golfers from the Detroit area you see
but besides double pay I could play golf for free
however the hardest job I ever had it all
was working in the tobacco fields in the hot summers and fall
it was a dirty backbreaking job oh Lord
but it paid 12 bucks a day plus room and board
After leaving school no more manual labor I confess
I saw an ad in the paper saying become an officer in the RCAF
so I took the tests in the training for a year
and I earned the rank of flying officer give me a cheer
I remained in the service for seven years more
when I got out I workEd for the Canadian broadcasting Corp.
we were married then and decided to move to the USA
we were 27 years old with two kids on the way
well that’s about all I have time for now to relate
I had many more jobs after moving to the states - Hudba
This is awesome! I love the visuals.
Love it
What a life!
