The most clutch shot ever.

The organization was disrespecting Ray so he bet on himself. Just a season later the Celtics blew up the the roster and shipped everyone out... including KG and Pierce.
exactly
Ray Allen being out is one of the reasons why
That Ray Allen move goes under the radar compared to LeBron and KD leaving their teams.
Ray wasn't nearly the star Lebron and KD were.

Happy to hear man 💯
I remember that whole season before he left. They were trying to trade him for O.J. Mayo to the Grizzlies. ..Man “ F” the Celtics … they ain’t loyal…ask Isaiah how loyal they are.
King of the 4th was totally different Boston saved him from sac stop the 🧢
And Kyrie 😢
@@dtippitt2what did they do to Kyrie? Kyrie walked and and acted like everybody owed him something. The team always played better in the playoffs when he was on the bench.
Ray was trded for OJ mayo and then the trade was nixed. Strike 1.
Ray lost his starting spot to avery bradley. Strike 2.
Ray was beefing with Rondo. And neither kg or PP told rondo to chill out and respect ray, their supposed brother. Strike 3
During the offseason that last year, they bring in jason terry. Who had very similar skill set as ray..which would lower rays minutes even more. Strike 4.
Yea ray couldve told kg and pp what he was feeling if they were truly close but Ray had every right to leave. Boston shitted on him first
Agreed
Dirty Danny Ainge
They still talking about this 😂
Ray Allen did a KD before KD
He was 36 tho
No he didn’t at all because Boston didn’t want to resign Ray!!! After he waited for weeks for a deal that’s a lie!! He tells his story on ESPN live!!
Nope Danny ainge tried to trade Ray behind his back & play with his minutes & role.
KG and Paul were hurt cause Ray was looking for homes in Miami while playing them in the playoffs before they lost. If that doesn’t show he was checked out I don’t know what does. He was also turning 37, so his role should have been reduced, just like it was in Miami. He could have communicated properly. That’s all.
And the fact that the Celtics hated the Miami Heat more than any other team.
And the fact those Celtics were one of the last teams of the old school NBA v new school NBA Heat who everyone hated, due to their main guys being a bunch of prima donnas.
@@kanajingly8957 I was with you until prima donnas. They’re just elite athlete who want to win, I don’t have the head space or want to judge them by personalities that people like you and I have, that’s not basketball.

@@kanajingly8957 But why do you care so much about another persons personality that you don’t know who plays a sport for a living? These are elite athletes, all the greats have egos. No need to judge them through a distorted lens.
Draymond was stuck in his head for a minute after he said don't do the same with klay 💯 im a bron boy but most definitely they gotta finish together ✊🏾🖤
As a Celtics fan, I don't think anyone should blame Ray Allen for his decision. When he left Boston there were a number of major factors involved:
1. His relationship with Rondo was irreparably broken and it was clear that the Celtics were all-in on Rondo.
2. Boston had just drafted a guy (Avery Bradley) who was already starting to eat into his minutes a bit.
3. He'd always been a bit of the odd-man-out, even fans could see that he just wasn't the same as KG and Pierce. Not lesser, but just a different personality type.
4. Allen had always had a major fear of being traded.
In this case, Allen's normal fear about being traded was very well justified. Everyone in the organization knew that he and Rondo wouldn't co-exist well together for much longer. The Celtics already had Allen's 'replacement' in Bradley. For Allen, he just wanted to make sure that he could control the destination he'd be traded to. It wasn't about money for him; it was about security choosing his own future. Can't fault anyone for that.
They didn't want to replace him, they actually offered a 2 year deal for him to re-sign with the team, and offered him more money than Bradley or Terry.
Bradley didn't get his money until after the big 3 had been broken up, as he was still on his rookie deal.
Ray may have had a fear of being traded. But by that logic Kg and Pierce as well as Rondo all knew their time was coming as the Big 3 were aging. Rondo also had been offered in numerous trade deals throughout the years, including one for chris paul, yet he even admitted at one time that he wished to finish his career as a Celtic. In the end, Rondo, KG and Paul chose to ride it out to the end given their loyalty to one another as teammates and a special bond that they had for each other as well, which still exists for them to this day.
They also were solely dedicated to toppling their rivals, over their fear of being traded. Ray was always going to be a piece to this puzzle the following years. However, he chose to jump ship and join the rivals to ring-chase.
@@kanajingly8957 Don't let facts get in the way of a good story. People don't care about that stuff.

@@kanajingly8957dirty danny Ainge was going to use that contract to trade Ray… history showed Ray couldn’t trust him anymore
@@MrDiMES123 What the hell are you talking about? Ainge was committed to re-upping for another last hurrah that next season. There's a reason why KG and Paul won't traded that season while they had more value, because the original strategy was for the celtics to reload, not rebuild.
I hate people who don't research or have amnesia or have cognitive dissonance and just spew crap.
They'd reduced his minutes and weren't running plays for Ray, to that date the greatest 3 point shooter ever. Man wanted to win and be a key contributor, KG and Paul being goddamn babies about this. History shows Ray did the right thing.
Facts. Before Steph was even thought of Ray was considered the best shooter ever
Of course he did the right thing for his family… but what PP was debating was Ray didnt even reach out… he just up’d and left
You clearly didn't watch the video. Paul never said anything about his decision, he just didn't like the communication from Ray. He just left his teammates without saying anything..
@@wheresbigtunez1123also Pierce fault that he couldn’t see the obvious discontent. With Rondo freezing Ray out and beefing and KG not doing shyt. Ray was disrespectful & did his Celtics teammates dirty, he could've gave P & KG a heads up. I was hurt for the Celtics
P & KG should’ve stood up for him when he was in trades & getting reduced minutes
@@Rodricktyrone Pierce was in trade rumours himself, and Avery Bradley was was outplaying Ray on both ends of the court, and the Celtics needed anything they could get off the bench because their bench couldn't score for shit that year.
That's why it made perfect sense starting Bradley over Ray Allen, given that Bradley was so much more effective as a 4th or 5th option with the starting unit, rather than as a 1st or 2nd option off the bench who couldn't create an open shot for himself to save his life.

Let’s not forget Ray only left because BOSTON decided to pay and bring in Jason Terry. It was a slap in the face so he slapped y’all back
It was actually Avery Bradley you were close though.
Right Danny Ainge was/is a snake
He was losing his starting spot tho Avery Bradley. Jason Terry was going to be the back up PG. Ray was still offered a 2 year deal higher than Miami's offer. The Courtney Lee trade was made after Judas betrayed us
Do they ever get tired of talking about the same stories!!
And they traded him oj mayo but it got waxed before it was completed. Boston/ainge was already moving off him and PP & KG weren’t standing up for Ray. But wanted him to kiss the damn ring. He said F that & got his own ring. 1 more than both of em 🤷🏾♂️
Is not Ray fall the Celtics what it to trade him or keep him they was playing mind trick with him the owners not the players the players wanted to keep him all day is the owner fall that why he left 😅

Doc tried to have Ray come off the bench behind Avery Bradley… Ray did what he had to
The organization shouldve did ray right then 🤷🏾♂️
So you know it’s a business, They don’t wanna give him what he wants and he leaves! But yall mad like yall forgot it was a BUSINESS decision😳 pull ya skirts down
If you actually listened to Ray he was complaining about not getting enough money and not a big enough role.
Two things he got less of by deciding to sign with Miami.
There's a reason Pierce and KG and Rondo decided to ride it out as long as they could with Boston, and why Celtics fans gave KG and Pierce massive love in their return to the Garden the following season.
@@kanajingly8957 Back then anyone would’ve taken a lesser role and less pay to play with that Miami team. That was also a business move
@@jjerkin1496Yeah? Then how come KG and Paul Pierce or Rondo didn't choose to take less and sign with them?
You don't join them if you can't beat them. That shit never used to happen until KD started that crap.
Second of all, what you don't understand is that, in that 2012 year, the Celtics took the Heat to 7 games, without literally having anything off the bench.
Jeff Green was supposed to be the final piece needed for the bench unit to get the Celtics over the hump, but went down with heart surgery at the beginning of the year, which fucked things up, couple with Avery Bradley who was balling that year, getting injured during the Philly series.
So don't give me crap about the Celtics not having a chance against the Heat that year, given that they were up 3-2 against Miami n the Eastern Conference Finals, and still had a top 4 defense in the league that year and always played Miami harder than practically every team in the NBA at the time besides the Spurs.
@@kanajingly8957 because they were already key players in the chip they won in Boston! Ray wasn’t a part of the clique
Kd to the warriors
Yea Ray Allen did the celtics dirty that year! Crazy things is their families were friends so that was dirty
That Celtics team is going to b*tch and moan about this until they’re gone
Don’t do what? Go to another team and win one more chip? Nah Paul buggin again 😂😂😂😂
Just 1 but he buggin fasho
By that logic Paul could have left or KG could have left and just ring-chased.
The fact that he left for a rival they lost to in 7 games, who they hated for years, made it all the more traitorous.
Particularly when he was giving bullshit reasons for leaving, such as needing an expanded role or not being offered enough money. Something he actually got less of by joining the Heat.
That whole Celtics cast were weirdo’s. The Celtics had rays name in trade rumors for like two seasons. At that point, ain’t no loyalty, that’s a grown man, he can go to whatever team he wants to, same as they would’ve traded him to whatever suited them best. Point blank, the run was already over.
Everyone was in trade rumors including Paul
@@BoosterGoldEarth6 no
Yeah sure does go under the RADAR WHEN A 37 year old joins another team…..
Why does Paul Pierce think that another grown ass man should run his business decisions by him first? Pierce didn’t have any power to change Ray’s situation, so speaking to him beforehand would’ve been pointless.
Believe it or not friends/family have influence in other peoples lives, he’s not just some random dude.
i love Paul but he´s a liar ...He knew that Ray would be in China before he went because Ray was there every year and got asked if it´s ok to book Paul and he said yes ...That´s why Paul was super friendly over there but when the event was over it was back to "we hate ray" ...He´s the captain and he was ok with Rondo banning Ray from the reunion .
And i dont want to hear about respect when they knew it was beef with young Rondo ... him and KG never did anything to make sure the locker room wasnt as toxic . Rondo,KG and Paul grew closer , Ray decided to step away and not attend any of their events because of it (and the constant trade talks )
KG was my favorite basketball player but when he was carrying on with all of his antics to Tim Duncan so extreme that basically his lips covered Tim Duncan's lips. Look for that video. Tim Duncan was like okay you want me to react then I will react because this is crazy. I said nope I can't do it, I love talking cray cray but this dude just went crazy and I actually think he head butted him
wtf are you talking about? They’re talking about ray allen not kg.
That's because KG plays basketball by going emotionally nuts to hype himself up for a game like he hates everything. Tim Duncan on the other hand used a totally different approach to dominating basketball. Both styles worked for both players, so I can't knock either one of them for doing what worked best for them to perform in games.

lol i love how he compared it to Steph, Klay and dray. Lmaooo Paul yall only played together for 3ish years😂😂😂😂
They were actually together for 5 years, and every year they were consistently considered as a championship contender, and were favourites to win the NBA finals on many occassions, plus they had a miraculous comeback into the 2010 finals, coupled with a miraculous comeback in the 2012 eastern conference finals, and they also were part of the biggest rivalry in the NBA at that time.
They are also responsible for reviving a franchise to a level of relevance not seen in over 20 years. Due to their contributions Boston has remained consistently competitive ever since 2008.
They brought old Celtics fans back into the NBA, and attracted new fans to the league, and were one of the most hype teams ever in NBA history.
Plus they had one of the most iconic player introductions ever and they represented the battle between the last of the old school NBA (pre 2003 draft NBA players) vs new school NBA (2003 draft onwards).
Because of that team alone, Boston now consistently ranks within the top 5 of fanbases within the NBA. And that particular team is still loved by more Celtics fans than every subsequent Celtics team.
So you might want to re-think or better yet understand the context behind what you are stating.
@@kanajingly8957 you just sound like a typical Celtics fans lol. Nobody is discounting that. All i am saying is that Paul always tries to force himself in situations that are bigger than him.
The fact is they got traded to eachother, so 5 years isn’t quite the same. And they didn’t have the same level of success, and the warriors have been together for 12 years and STARTED a dynasty, not revived one. Plus the warriors won way more and were massively more relevant for a longer time. I’ve never seen anyone ride one championship for SO long. They’re all annoying. Doc, Paul all of em

He whined and complained about being in trade rumours, even though Rondo was in a trade rumour every year since the big 3 got together, and Paul Pierce was even in a trade rumour for Mehmet Okur and a pick that same year.
Plus Ray took less money for a lessor role to play with the Heat.
By that logic Paul, KG could have as easily left the Celtics to ring hop. But they chose to stay and battle it out till the end.
