- Age of overlord just dropped and I'm sill working and refining the best ways to play the deck with some of the new cards. Until that time comes, we fall back on the reliable way to play it.
I cant wait to share some of my ideas in future videos and introduce new cards into the strategy. Until then, enjoy the video and have a great day!

All that being said, with so many new cards that were just released, I can’t wait to share new theories and interesting ways to play Dark Magician in the very near future!
Not a DM player but I respect that your willing to do what you can to make an anime deck able to complete on a competitive level. I do same the same for Blue eyes (and been doing that for years. Changing strategies over the years that progressed) a fairly decent lineup it can fall prey to spell negate if you are turn 2,but all around a decent deck

Dark Magician as a deck might get more accessible soon as the new DM structure deck will be released in the OCG on November 11th in Japan (together with a Blue Eyes structure deck).
According to the wiki, it will contain many of the more expensive cards as Soul Servant and Magician's Souls.
Let's hope Konami also wants to earn some western money and will release the deck for the TCG, too.

Well if it's being released in Japan this month probably be awhile before it's released here in states. But apparently they are going to be doing it for DM, Blue-Eyes,and I heard possibly Red-Eyes too but I don't have confirmed sources yet it's speculation at this point.
I’d more be interested in new DM support cards. Like a DM equivalent of unicorn

Yeahh Matchie is Back! Been struggling lately with DM feel like most deck can break the branded and dragoon much easier then before im looking for something new and fresh make the deck pop again.
Working on some new theory! Once I have it in a place where I think it can be competitive I’ll be posting videos on it (combos, matches ect)

Awesome video I’m also a fellow magician player. I run swordsoul along magicians and it has done well. I’ve been able to push into diamond but beyond that I struggle going against meta decks.
P.s I call the deck dark souls thought it was cool 😎 😂

@@MatchieYGO I have yet to run it in locals but I’ve had success in master duels. With the unbanning of a few cards I need to revise it so it’s tcg viable but I’ll update you on that :)

I'm sure you've tested it but what are your thoughts in running 1 Oracle Mahad for that extra draw power with Soul Servant? I don't even know what you'd even cut for him with the deck space being really tight. Would love to here your thoughts on that. Thank you again and looking forward to your content.

Nice video again sir! You talk about SP:Little Knight having room in the deck, but when you have done testing with it how do you find it? I'm finding it sort of clunky to get into, or maybe I'm feeling hesitant to go into S:P as it usually means I'm not following the usual lines of play. What are your experiences like? Cheers!

S.P is just ridiculous… in the grind game even, just slapping it on board wins games by itself…. In this version of the deck, it’s def awkward because you’re fusion locked most of the time… I’ve working on a list to maximize its value in Dm

Yo Matchie, I'm from the ocg, can you provide a deck list targeting the ocg meta. I would like some tips because currently a bit stuck.
Duel Master doesnt have some cards and limited branded fusion. I had to do some improvising. I added a small bystial line up and Nadir. Also Because you can now search it i included Magicalized Fusion. How you using Schism without a way to dump a shadoll fission into the grave? The one monster dm also doesn't have is Quem which would had went in as well.
Also extra deck Chaos Angel you can get into with its full effect and well i put in Quintet as well (no dragoon on DM).
One last thing how do you spell your one syncro? I couldn't find it on DM
I have been doing a lot of messing around and taking inspiration from your videos and I have settled on that we just need to play as many power cards as possible. Currently I am on a DM, Branded, Cartesian, Adventure, DPE, Fenrir mosh pit. How you showed in one of your past videos how to fully use the draw power of souls with the adventure engine is for sure the best and then being able to draw into fusion destiny, fusion deployment, or branded fusion is absolutely crazy. Not much room for going second cards but I guess that’s what the side deck is for, good stuff man, appreciate all the DM content

What are your thoughts on using Diabellestar? You don’t necessarily need to use snake eye and can run Rciela and the trap card that works like imperm
I think it’s okay at best right now… I personally would only use it as an extender rather than using it to completely alter the way the deck is played

Absolutely! I think everyone already knows the basis of how this version of the deck wants to play… I’ve been working really hard on new theory (not as good competitively) but I want to get some footage of gameplay with it :) something fresh!

What strategies would you recommend for a master duel variant considering branded fusion is limited
I don’t play masteduel at all, so I wouldn’t be able to tell you with full confidence… but there are some amazing DM players out there who play MD.
A lot of people asking for MD content, so I’ll study up on it and make a deck profile one day.
Tenyi the Dracoslayer...is nice ...but the extra deck is so tight
Have you thought about running 1 rod & 1 keeper? Keeper is a great extender and can help shot gun deployment and fusion
I’ve tested keeper so much! Discard is incredibly steep, but it very good in “perfect hands” like it’s ceiling is crazy! It’s just a shame that DM needs all 5 cards to really push into difficult matchups

Just wanted to circle back and recount how duality has gone up in price because while you do call it a brick and yes it is if you dont open with multiple fusions, its an amazing card for response ive been able to avoid targets and attacks with duality as well as of course getting into Dragoon with it.

if anti spell is ftk isnt it better to side a little less spells, like evenly or something?
It's an interesting development. Previous lists went all in on board breakers over one-for-one negates, but that's been changing with each new list to where one-for-ones are taking back over. Goes to show you how important it is to prevent your opponent from building a board vs. trying to clean it up after it's completed.

Evenly and cosmic I think accomplish the same thing in that instance, however with evenly, I think it has less application going first
Did you also try spellbooks? I tried seeing if it could work but I dont know its potential.
I have, I think it can be strong but it’s only as strong as the cards you’re able to draw… I think it’s a little bit outdated as of right now.
But in the future it could see play, you just never know

It’s ok, I think DRNM is a bit better right now, lots of omni negates are making a comeback back in the format
i added 3 veilers in place of imperm(able to access the dark magicians more), replaced 3 droplets with 3 ash blossom, replaced a thrust with dark magical circle. deck is more fun. i can banish twice with rod to grab circle and fusion with dm to get chaos angel.
i added 3x Destrudo the Lost dragon frisson, 1 magician's salvation and 1 eternal soul + ancient fairy dragon to search village directly from the deck.
Rod + Destrudo = Ancient fairy dragon
that can always add Village. Also you can send Destrudo to the gy directly from the deck through Branded Fusion, and use it the next turn.
Any Ideas for playing Dark Magician with Synchro and Chaos? 👀
I’ve been thinking about synchro techs for sure! Something I’m always thinking about, but I have some spice coming soon!
@@MatchieYGOI tried to use the core from the Magician deck in combination with Ringoworm to special summon this LvL 2 Tuner :D
But its kinda annoying to find a way to play Fusion before i lock into the Ligh Dark Synchro Summons.

Going 2nd what would switch Village for?
Matchup dependent… but most commonly, I’m siding in the Thrust package usually, or Ash/droll
I love the staple ratio but i think we should need to play evenly/duster in side deck to clear r-ace backrow or if u draw imperm that’s ok great profile as always King👑

I’ve played with it in the early early days of the deck. I personally don’t think we need a fusion substitute, simply because we have access to all the materials we need already… but it is an interesting tech indeed

Awesome stuff as usual. Very surprising to see Forbidden Droplet make an appearance, but it's a card I've liked for a long time. I've also been on Metaverse for a while, for the reason you explained and also because of its synergy with The Dark Magicians (The Dark Magicians draws for effect on opponent's turn, draws Metaverse, sets and activates Metaverse to activate Secret Village). I've also advocated Dragon Knight in comments on earlier videos I'm pretty sure. It's a phenomenal Duality target. No it's not invincible without Eternal Soul, but it does provide a layer of protection for Secret Village. Questions:
1) You dropped the Accesscode package a long time ago, but you've also said Labrynth is a hard matchup for this deck. Do you not feel that running an all-fusions Extra Deck leaves you critically vulnerable to Labrynth (Dimensional Barrier)? The Accesscode package would also give you a way to play around Anti-Spell Fragrance.
2) I assume Sanctifire is in the deck primarily to summon Dragoon on the opponent's turn. How often are you actually doing that?
Pretty bang on about everything in your comment to be honest! As for dropping accesscode… I think the deck took a more fusion heavy approach which means we needed to maximize those targets and options more than anything. I still think accesscode and it’s package is insane, especially with like S.P little night in the mix
Sanc is just a great way to break boards going 2nd and can really be an impactful interruption going 1st. (Sanc reviving FOA, and using FOA to fuse your opponents monster mid comvo to make a mirrorjade, and then have a mirrorjade banish as an additional interruption) is just crazy
@@MatchieYGO could you walk me through how you're breaking a board with it going second? Summoning him properly, then getting him in the graveyard to summon back with his second effect seems very particular. Something like Fusion Deployment to summon Cartesia, Cartesia fuses with FoA in hand to make Sanctifire, summon Rod to center monster zone, search Secrets, activate Secrets to fuse Sanctifire and DM in hand for Dragoon in Extra Monster zone, Dragoon pops a monster, then tribute Rod, Dragoon, and two opponent monsters to Reborn Sanctifire. I'm sure you've got a better way of doing it, but that seems like it takes a whole hand and dies to one interruption.
How would the ratios change without thrusts?
You'd either add more copies of the cards you planned to search with Thrust or you would add more combo pieces to increase your consistency, like another Cartesia, Rod, or Soul Servant. You could even add something like Upstart Goblin.
Bang on comment ^ I think just maximizing the villages (removing metaverse) and talents, or playing handtraps / board breakers are good options too)
I'm think I may drop the dragon knight for a starslayer ty-phon. Thoughts?
I’d personally just play the Zeus package if I’m honest… but even then, you’re locked into Fusions most of the time, so I don’t see where it may come up enough to warrant that extra deck slot

Extra Metaverses or Talents. They are used to get into those flexibly, without thrust the deck isnt as consistent but it is what it is.

@@h2owiththepower 3rd Souls, a 3rd Servant, or even a 3rd Rod works. I was even thinking a 2nd DM. I'm cooking up a based list for DM that runs the Diabellstar stuff, a small Kash Engine, and a bunch of Rank 7 plays that abuses Ebon High and Ebon Illusion. Just waiting on the weekend. If it doesn't work out, im switching back to branded lol.
@kazuma6154 that does sound epic let me know how successful that is. I'm trying to stay budget friendly and I already own the access code stuff so I'm probably going to take out the 1 winda, the lulu and the Master of chaos for dharc, selene, and access code

What do you think about Chimera DM? Both pretty small engines with a lot of space for nonengine?
I’ve seen a lot of lists online and from other CZcamsrs… I think it’s alright. For me it’s just 2 engines that work completely separately, there isn’t much synergy there outside of “I do chimera stuff first, then I do DM stuff”
@@MatchieYGO yea I figured. The only thing I could really see is DM could give you a lot of draw power, which chimera fusion and guardian chimera will appreciate

so sad to hear runick didn't work out, and in my time playing it, it was extremely bricky with even minimal dm input
such a fun deck when it gets going, then your opponent opens with ash and imperm and you kinda just cry
I think Runick does work, but it is awkward and very difficult to play… I just think it’s not there yet, but I have plans for it. With some theory I do think the deck can see play
By playing 1 copies of DM & DMG you embodies and keep the spirit of Yugi "The King of Games" and "The Master of Magician", while if you run more then 1 of you essentially embodies Arcana instead, that's why i really likes your lists, and don't mind with the branded package because Yugi deck is a Pile Deck aswell.
This is doesn't matter for competitive and most player, but for me it's different.

Matchi where no one else is navigating you on dm because we are full of fake dm players I was the 1 guy that warred you what would happen and I seen you lose to exactly what I said you would...
Here are the weakness.....
#1 village... Find the out to the link dark. Charmer or you will keep losing. This is a rookie issue...
#2 dm banished.. you can fix it with the servant shuffle it back in..
#3 Bystial is excellent for backup....
Anything else you got it..
Remember what you lost to before it will happen again just fix it ..

You see the dm community says dragoon wins all your duels thus they trick every one.
In reality dragoon is trash to tier 1 and 0 players... 5-10 negations per turn against you now a day's is normal like I said back in 2022... Matchi is simply making dm strong... Finding the out to charmer and adjusting to the banish of dm and of course a bit of an update should bring him back to where he left off. His duels how why he lost he just need to get the out and that's all...
I know people are attacking him because of the branded deck and said it's not dark magician..
But.. his doing some thing no one else is doing.
His not crying about anything and his getting it done. I respect that. Unlike you millions of fake players that cry and complain and the solution is fake cards that don't exist.. matchi is on the right path...

@@RyanAtlus 🤦 🤭 you guys miss understand..... Ycs profile come after a 1st place deck has won. Afterwards I duel them with a budget dark magician deck that is 4 years old. You can see the duels on my channel. Some decks have 5-10 negations per turn but I find a way out.
None of my cards are strong I purposely built my profile to insure I never win but ..
I win a few duels here and there.
No hands traps no Kaiju nothing strong ..
Afterwards these decks and cards are given away for free to my subs to help the community. Matchi like any one who plays in the ycs are called top tier players..
I'm a budget rogue player.. meaning at the bottom of the food chain...
