    Hello,
    Thanks for the route. Planning to take this route to North Goa during August 15. This will be my first time to Goa by road. The less the ghat section, the better. Two questions:
    1. Is it fine to travel during August 15 (I am fine with few places being closed as leisure is the motive).
    2. The name of the ghat via yellapur is Arbail ghats, right?
    Also, planning to come back to bangalore by thia route only.

    • @NH-2-NH
      @NH-2-NH  Před měsícem

      Hello,
      1. As long as you don't mind rains and few closed places Goa in Monsoon is a bliss. However, 15th August being a long weekend there could be some weekend crowd from Bangalore / Pune / Mumbai. Safety wise no issues at all.
      2. Yes the ghat section is Arabail ghat section, it is the mildest ghat section you will encounter on your way to Goa. You can take it eyes closed, just watch out for potholes as rains would have taken it toll on the roads.
      3. After you merge onto NH 66 at Ankola it is smooth sailing all the way till North Goa, except a section which goes through Madgaon city otherwise it is a bliss to drive on NH 66. Beware of the speed interceptors though roads are very good so you will be tempted to stretch your car's legs however exercise caution.
      Enjoy your trip.
      I just concluded a monsoon trip to Western Ghats and returned from Goa only via Mollem route. That route is in a bad condition around 25-30 Km stretch is not good.

      One more query. While returning from Goa you took the Molem route by which I believe you took the Anmod ghat section. I was thinking to come back via Arabail ghat - Yellapur only. I understand it will be a long route and I am planning to halt in Chitradurga for the night and start from there next morning for Bangalore. Any suggestion/advice on the return would be really helpful. I will come back from North Goa only.

      You can take the Abarail ghat route again while coming back no issues at all. It is longer but less twisty and as it is NH better maintenance than subsidiary highways of NH.

      If I am not wrong Amboli ghat route is slightly longer. Also, as it is monsoon time roads could be tricky at the ghats so whatever route you take drive safe.

    Hello,
    Hope you remember me from my previous comments on this video. I was planning to take the same route you suggested. However, I got the recent news of Kali bridge being broken in Karwar causing a road closure from Karwar to Goa. Can you please help me in this regard please? Will Anmod ghat be a good option at this time? Kindly refer to my previous comments as well and help me with a solution. Thank you so much!

    • @NH-2-NH
      @NH-2-NH  Před měsícem

      I do remember you there are hardly any comments on my videos :).
      If you are going towards North Goa the overall distance from the point you exit and lets say Candolim in Goa is around 160 Kms.
      You can divide this section into 3 parts
      The first 50 - 60 Kms while going to Goa absolutely fine you can take it anytime good roads.
      The last 60 Kms after Mollem police check post are also very good, that leaves us with around 40 Kms.
      In these 40 Kms you will find patchy roads for 5-10 Kms so you need to be careful. Keep the speeds slow, it is not as if the whole 40 Kms is bad some sections are bad.
      If you have a sedan or a low ground clearance car you just need to be extra careful.
      Also, leave Bangalore early so that you can cross this section during the day time. I took this road on 22 July so this is as latest update I can give.
      If you watch my Goa to Bangalore video I have taken the same route the bad patch sections are still there plus a few more due to monsoon.
      Leave your worries aside it is definitely doable.

      Thanks a lot man. Will now take bangalore - Dharwad - Ramnagar - Anmod ghats - Calangute. I have a hatchback, so will be extra careful on the patchy roads.
      Also, your videos are really interesting as you give information that is absolutely needed. Thanks!

      Hello,
      Hope you're doing well. Just came back from goa and it is exactly the same situation of the road as you mentioned. Few kms before Molem were very patchy. Also NH48 is going through a lot of work here and there for patches. Had to make few diversions. Otherwise, it was a fun and scenic drive. However, weather in Goa was hotter than expected. So, could not do much in terms of sightseeing.
