  • Will it Run? Will it start after sitting for 25+ years? In this video, I go through the equipment required to get old trucks, bulldozers, dumpers or tractors running after they have been abandoned or left sitting for many years.
Hopefully it will give the viewers a bit of a behind the scenes look into what goes into making these videos, and might give everyone an idea of the sorts of things they may need to take when rescuing an old machine in the middle on nowhere to do up or use on their farm. Thanks for watching, Bruce.

Hi Bruce , as a volunteer fire fighter I would recommend you always carry a fire extinguisher. It’s too late looking every where for the extinguisher we you really need it.

The most important tool Bruce takes with him is his knowledge and wisdom.

When I was Bed bound recently with a bad back I could have done with that siphon hose on my bladder, bloody brilliant.

You like to be prepared just like me when you know you're going to work on something you haven't any knowledge of its current condition. Very smart, indeed. I'd rather be over prepared than underprepared any day.

Title of video should be: "essential items for a field diesel mechanic"

Light the torch and press down the silver button on top. Locks the trigger.

You're becoming increasingly more relaxed and confident on the videos Bruce, great to see the progression and hope your fantastic channel continues to grow apace. Good to see your recovery from the op going well too.

I find for quickly tying up electrical cords or bundling objects together that a good product is Velcro One Wrap tape. It is a single reusable tape which binds to itself, so you only need to wrap it around any size object and it will keep it bundled together. You can cut it to any size, so you can wrap a 10 cm length a few times around a few wires, or you can wrap a 2 metre length a few times around a bundle of timber posts to keep them together.

Thanks Bruce! Now I know what to put on my shopping list! It was a great idea to put such a video together instead of the usual 'will it start'! Hope you're still on the mend! God bless mate! Oh yeah, thank you nameless Camera man too! It's great how Bruce gives you due credit and acknowledges your contribution to the production of the chanel! You guys are great Australians!

Hey Bruce I wanted to point out on the torch head with the auto ignition there is a button that you can press after you light the fire that will keep it on and running. It's the little round metal button right above the yellow flame trigger.

Hey Bruce, that mapp gas torch, if you pull the trigger and light it then turn the yellow knob it will lock the trigger and you won't have to hold the button.

Glad to see you are recovering from surgery. I also work on equipment for a living in the United States and it's interesting to see that our tool kits to go out working on the road are all very similar. It's always nice to see other tradesman explain their different tricks.
