I beat the pit as soon as I got Flurrie, before the Great Tree. Since they changed Gale Force to give XP, you just blow every battle, and since Fire Drive ignores defense, you can get the rest pretty easy if you focus on Superguarding. With Bonetail, though, Fire Drive was my only damaging move. I had to learn all of her SuperGuard times and keep one partner alive with Super Appeal P so I can keep refilling my FP. In short, I started the pit at 2:00 AM, got to Bonetail at 4 AM, and finished the pit at 6 AM Edit: And I went up 20 levels and reached A-Rank before the great tree

Once the mole stops spawning you’ll get an email that says there will be a new boss at the bottom of the trials.
If any of you guys are trying the pit before chapter 3, get Flower Finder, Power Plus, and 2 Pretty Luckys. Oh, and spam upgrade hp after getting fp to 30. Trust me, spamming Fire Drive costs a lot of fp.
Not sure if Alpha knows this but Powerbounce is stupid hard for no reason. Not sure if it's intentional or not, but your 4th jump is frame perfect, and then the timing goes back up to normal. I'm guessing it's probably to stop power lift/power bounce combos from absolutely decimating superbosses since you can easily clear 100 damage in a single turn with the right set up, but at that point I think if you can pull it off, it's earned lmao
It'll forever be funny that your reward for the game's toughest challenge is a shitty badge and a single star point. (Coins in the remake are sorta nice).
Uhh… I did this entire thing starting immediately after collecting the first Crystal Star. So I only had 2 SP, one reliable way to heal (Sweet Treat), and a fucking dream. I ended up doing all 100 floors after about 3 hours, which I’m pretty proud of.
I beat bone tail with only 3 hp, 0 zero healing items, and only doing about 7 damage per turn 💀 I had barely any star power to work with either. I’d use sweet treat but I’d constantly drop back down to 3 hp. If u don’t believe me, I can send whoever is curious the screenshot I took of my run through.
I just did this last night just before going off to the moon at level 26 with hammer only 10-12 damage per hit with two turns then up to 14-16 damage with power lift twice per turn just barely enough to do it

Gale Force gave XP in the original too. It's in Paper Mario 64 that the battle-ending moves didn't give XP iirc.
