Fantastic YAL, I certainly didn't get any sleep either on the journey its only around 1.30am-2am Perth time when you land in NZ at dawn so its taking the red eye experience to the next level for sure as opposed to the usual Perth to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane! Whilst the hard product is lacking a little with the older Wamos aircraft I overall really enjoyed my experience and thought the crew was great and worked well with what they had. Luckily my hotel let me check in early soon as I got there around 9am so after a few hour sleep I was refreshed enough for the rest of the afternoon ahead! It's going be interesting when Batik Air start flying the route soon on a 737Max from August 24
(bizarre I know but Batik are using it as a pitstop from KL to Auckland! not too sure they will have many customers keen to fly 12
+ hours all the way on a Max from Malaysia to NZ but who knows!) hopefully at least it brings some competition to otherwise an expensive premium you pay for the direct flight from Perth!.

Funny, thing is I saw that exact aircraft while plane spotting in Perth, and vamonos is a mexican airline!
It's a very nice aircraft, however the aircraft is under a Spanish registration, not a Mexican one

Thanks for showing that this is the NCK aircraft, I wanted to see the seats… I have the 6A-6C for a future fight, Are the seats comfortable? I’m in emergency row so I know it’s good space for legs but not sure if it worth it the upgrade to business 😅
Depends on which direction you are flying AKL-PER go eco, PER-AKL go business
Very informative, thanks. Quite a long journey... Small suggestion: Slow down the camera in the lounge to view food options, buffet...it seemed like twice the speed and not easy to focus on ptions available.

Outsourcing is quite normal at present .Fly some routes on Qnantas and your actually flying Finnair

I’m pretty sure it’s not first time air New Zealand has used wamos air on this route and it’s disappointing it always seems to be Perth which gets the bad products.
I spotted this flight several months beforehand and I knew I just had to get onboard so I picked Feb 5 , little did I know I was extremely lucky cause had I chosen a date a week earlier or after I would’ve been stuck in Auckland
It was hi-fly from Portugal they used before.
The reason for selecting Auckland - Perth - Auckland is the the flight time of 7.5 - 8 hours
It allows the foreign aircraft and the crew only requiring approval for operating in one overseas port. But also keep the one aircraft on a full operational day.
@@kieranmacdonald83 yes but that comes with a cost to passengers as the air New Zealand Dreamliner provides a much better product.
