You are not only a good and successful Captain, but a good narrator and a very good person too. You remembered all the people who helped you in your journey. You explained your struggle for getting a good job despite having good academic records in a very nice manner. Without a good recommendation, it is very much difficult to get a job. This is true for all the professions not only for the merchant navy. I was feeling as if you were telling my own story (though I am in a different profession and not successful as you). So many similarities between the citizens of two different countries!!! I was just thinking then where is the difference!!! Anyway, best of luck and wishes for a long and successful career ahead.

Captain Saheb, You story of struggle is very much similar to every individual who has neither experience or reference. It is the same story here in India as well be it shipping or for that matter any line. The degree certificate as you rightly said is nothing but a piece of paper. Very evoking video and story indeed. Thank God you are through with all the trouble and the best part is that you are making life of new sailors under you a better one. This is humility at its best. Pray Allah to give you long life so that you can groom many more good individuals under you.

Hi capt, assalamu'alaikum. I'm faesal from Indonesia. It was a great to know your journey from the beginning to your position now and the obstacles you faced. It was so motivating. I almost had the same journey after my graduation. I came on the first on my batch, but struggled to find job. Almost a year i was trying to find the job. The obstacles were the same with your. Eventhough i passed their test, i didn't have any chance cause i didn't have any experiences. Your story realized me that with the hardship will come ease. And in my first contract as officer, i had no big salary (or at least standard), my salary was quite less. But one thing i realized, sometimes it's just not about the salary, met someone who really care with me, who wanted to share their knowledge and experience to me, guide me and respect me even I was a fresher at that time was precious. And just like your story, it motivated me to do so to other person if I'm getting the higher rank on ship. Thank for sharing your story and experience which i feel resonate with your story. Bahut sukriya.
