December 1980 I was on a cargo ship anchored at Visakapatnam India , my father got serious , I tried my best to arrange a visa but no chance. Luck was against me. My father expired without me knowing exactly what happened , and then I had to go via Calcutta port to Singapore and left ship from Singapore. Arrived home three month after the death of my father…still missing that time…will never forget it.

My father spend 35 years on a ship. He stuck in war for the first time for 6 months, 2nd time stuck in war for 22 months. He was sailing both times when my grand father and grand mother died. My mother died after 1 year of his retirement. Because my mother suffer extra ordinary because of his job. That's why me and my brothers didn't join the merchant navy.

That's true before covid we can chose date and flights ✈️ But after covid there is so many borders restrictions we have to wait flights availability and covid results. From south east Asia 🌏💕
Very well said I grown up like that when we need him he was in ship.back of the days there was no mobile or Internet. Other dark side is you donot get ships frequently. What ever he earned by the time he get next ship all finished. There is not alot of ships .
I m working in aviation ALHUMDULILAH very happy our field is more best with facilities but yes we are not getting much salary like merchant navy but good
