This is great and I can’t wait to see your new one. I’m building my son and I a massive mountain and underwater base and wanted a auto-sorting storage room that auto smelts, or distributes curtain items to villagers that craft them into there “end” form but this is great for my starter category list!

Currently working on the dolphin sorter for 800 items. It's going to be around 3300 chest but this world was still really usefull to me! Helped me a ton for visualizing it all. Cause well the excel from storage tech is kinda overwhelming

I thought I had a lot of "Too Lazy" chests having five of them. But in the same area, I have four chests for give aways to our community chests, and 10 more chests for items on other levels of my basement/storage area (to put away later chests) and empty shulker box storage. I manually sort everything because it's a chill and zone out thing for me, and sort of relaxing. I just dump my inventory into my 'sort later' chests, and then when they are full, sort away!
My basement has multiple floors (10 levels). Level 1 is most used items like all the stones, gravel, dirts, wooods, tools, armors, mob drops, foods. Level 2 is all the colored items along with sands, plain glass, clay, brick, and plain terracotta (because I need those to make the colored items). Level 3 is my head room (the server I play on has the head drop mod thing from vanilla tweeks), and levels 4, 5, and 6 are themed storage (nether, end, water/ice. Level 7 is my auto smelter room and I don't currently have anything on levels 8 and 9 (made for future updates). Level 10 is over flow/over stock.
I really think my color area (level 2) will be getting a make over as I never thought of some things like candles and banners being sorted by color. I don't mess with banners much, so never thought of sorting them other than throwing them in a chest when gifted with a banner, and just started using candles.
Anyway, I like the way you sort/organize. There are some chests full of stuff I just don't know where to put them, so I'm curious to see everything with the download. I have a feeling I'm gonna get ideas and everything is going to get a make over, especially now since the world goes way lower than what I had to work with back when I started playing on this server 7 years ago.

I've built a multi-item sorter following a tutorial, but they don't show a good way to set the filters. This world download will help immensely! You rock my dude, this is awesome.
So, im looking forward to your survival series. I found you when i was lookin for a wayto organize my auto sorter, i figure im going to try and keep to to 100 chests. Each type of wood, growing blocks, ore, stones and building blocks, mob drops, usable items and regents, and utility items.

Could you build a massive storage room/treasury style castle build and then fill it with tiny auto farms that feed into the system and fill the storage? Never seen anyone do it and it would make an amazing video

My second issue is I farm in bulk and need a massive storage solution to handle it. It must auto sort bulk shulkers of same and misc items, loose items, and have tons of storage so I can fit everything in one place.
I also feel this comment! Misc stuff drives me crazy because I just feel like it doesn't go with anything (not wood, not stone, not nether items etc).

I have scoured the internet for lists of items and suggestions for organizing and here is exactly what I was looking for, only better since it gives me freedom to customize it in an easy way. Good idea to solve the item problem! Simple but something that doesn't yet exist. Kind of... Very smart!
I personally have my own strategy. In my Enderchets are 27 Shulkerboxes filled with items, sorted in their categories. I barely need any others then those. I have set up a multi item Sorting System (V4 theres a yt tutorial) but before that all items are forced to try to go into the Shulkerboxes of my e chest. When I sort items, I take out all the Shulkerboxes and put the on the hopper wall.
Interesting set up! I'm actually thinking about using that v4 item sorter in my hardcore world. You like it?

I put WAY more down than is necessary for a standard storage room. I wouldn't advise the entire 276 double chests that I laid out so 472 chests in total. Start with 60 to 100 double chests and go up from there.

Hear me out. Take this concept and automate it with redstone.
100%, get the too lazy chests, hook them up with Redstone to at least partially automate it, and have the more miscellaneous items go into a semi sorted too lazy chest, so it would automatically sort basics like ores, the basic stones, basic woods(the logs) and similar, no need for it to auto sort into let's say the random jukebox or tnt you might find out there in the world, stuff like that no need to automate
