Early in the game, to make incidents easier to deal with, build rooms in a zigzag pattern: on one column, build rooms on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc. floors; on the next column, build rooms on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc. floors, and so on. That way, no room is adjacent to another, so incidents that could spread won't spread. Also, triple-length rooms have tougher incidents than double-length rooms, which in turn have tougher incidents than single-length rooms. So don't build triple-length rooms until you have at least 18 dwellers to fill up triple-length power, water, and food rooms.
Best tip ever to save junk and caps. In the endgame the only weapon u really need, is dragons maw, for exploring. And vengance for quests. And the only clothing u need essentially is the one that gives 7E because it allows u to create the best dweller
On a new build I hit my first radscorpion attack and lost my ish. I remember a playthrough where everyone caught radiation and it literally spread throughout the vault and i couldn't keep up radaways
Lmao same, I have like a area far away from my active floors, which is just storage. And radscorpions, always spawn there using up so much power and it's just so annoying to get rid of, cus it takes Mt dwellers a million years to kill.
If the rooms aren't connected fires don't spread. When I used to play this I had all the rooms disconnected so things don't spread. If an emergency happens I just clear all the people out of the room and it goes away eventually.
I came back to the game after 7 years, because I missed it, after watching the series. I'm playing Survival mode and lost 5 dwellers so far, 1 of them, unfortunately, was a legendary (she got killed by a rad scorpion on a quest). My Vault is ok, after getting 2 dwellers killed by Deathclaws attack, I've rebuilt the 1st floor with 1 space rooms only. It's easier to heal dwellers. I don't have much 3 space rooms anymore because fire and rad scorpions are hard to deal with. All my idle rooms like storage and bedrooms have one void to other rooms, to avoid spreading incidents. Now I'm training perfect dwellers and I'm very cautious about quests, because one slip means RIP.
just so you know, endurance is completely useless when the dweller is level 50. endurance only adds max hp each time when leveling up. so a level 50 that leveled up with 1 endurance is going to have significantly less hp than a level 50 that leveled with 10 endurance. the only you would still want endurance on dweller after 50, is 11 e because then they dont take rads in the wasteland. other than that its only useful when under 50. im not good at explaining, but theres that wonderful youtube series called smth like "fallout shelter vault log". anyways, cool video.
You miss the one most important thing, that the first 2 floor of the upper vault should have 2 elevator that dont directly connect to the rest of the bottom room, so whenever there is a deathclaw/alien attack they will always use the right most elevator and down to the most right second floor. This ways you always put your strongest dweller in that room (usually nuka cola room). That ways the deathclaw will always dead in that room and no one died. Make the first 2 room of the first floor empty (i put barrack and overseer room there). It makes your game wayy easier since you can predict where the attack wave would travel.
The system I have works flawlessly, 2 gaurds and 6 others working in a power station. The attacks never make it past the second room, but even if they do, they ALWAYS go to the far right elevator. But your method sounds great too!
The risk of getting death claws more often is a risk I am willing to take. In just a moment I can send out several dwellers to the wasteland, have them collect thousands of caps, and return.
I send out scouts regularly usually the rookie* will spot a deathclaw if course I utilize them with t25 armour.and if they are a successor it just means I'm keeping deathclaws at bay
I don't know if this work or not: I would equip my dweller with any E clothes whenever they're leveling up; so the LVL icon appear and I just equip it then I change again according to the room Stat.
I'm the dummy who just started this game. Thank you SO much for updated information. I'm subscribed, and can't wait for more. I'm literally trying to rebuild my vault to follow your lead.

Can anyone help??? I can see Dogmeat in my inventory but when I select a person in my vault to assign him to it's not there. I can see my Alien Drones, but not Dogmeat.
Personally I never guard the door or upgrade it so the event is dealt with as fast as possible because they get in quickly then you have a elevator, a three wide and a two wide, don't upgrade those two first rooms ever as doing so makes the room deeper, meaning attackers take longer to kill. I want attackers getting straight into the first three wide where a team of 6 destroys them. If they make it through, usually only deathclaws can, to the next two wide another team of 4 awaits. I tend to arm those 10 with plasma guns
I found information that when training a dweller to 10e and equipping them with 7e, when leveling up, their maximum health will increase, is this correct?
Yeah I got destroyed when I didn't take care of a thingy thing and yeah and now I'm trying to rebuild and I'm kind of getting close to where was that before but still not really
How was you able to go 3 across under your vault doors? Deathclaws never make it past the first floor, and Radscorpions have never been a problem for my vault, down the first room they in. No one has a weapon under 11 damage. Mostly flamethrower, Gatling lasers, and plasma weapons. My 9 mission members have Max, Strength, Intelligence, Perception, Agility, and Luck. 4 of them including Sarah Lyons have power armor. Three Dog runs my radio station. The other 5 also have Max charisma like him. Any one new go to a training room first

End game vault… from the entrance build to the right.. place elevator then build rooms all the way to left.. elevator.. right left right left.. and top rooms are best ur Strength rooms like power… so it’s ur strongest characters and the zig zag prevents bad guys room reaching dead ends then running back they through rooms they just came from.. aka unnecessary down time.. so basically “crowd control” set up to force mobs to never back track on rooms…

Hey wastelord im having trouble maintaining basic resources like food and water. And I struggle moving my super dwellers (my best dwellers) to an area where my vault is being attacked at. I have trouble with mole rats because once they spread to another room I start to lag and I cant move my guys at all.
Make sure you are building enough production rooms to keep up with a growing vault, also it seems like your device may be older as you mentioned lag, perhaps you could move your saves or start a new vault on a different device? A lot of the time, resources just need more storage, in other words, more production rooms.
@@wastelordslegends I recently just improved my vault by adding more nuclear reactors and gardens, but even with 6 maxed out nuclear reactors AND power generators my energy is only 25-30% of its maximum capacity.

I’ve been playing this game for 2 years. It’s so empty. No quests to have fun with anymore. I know there are quests (like the one with Luc the Human) but I don’t have it for whatever reason. All my dwellers have atleast one Special stat maxed out. And my explorers are pretty much inhuman. This game has so much more potential, just needs a sliver of attention from Bethesda
in my opinion , not the best way to build. On every level there should be a big 3 section room in the center, filled with maxed out dwellers , to quickly react to any type of emergency ,on the SAME level, and not to be drawn from another. Store rooms can be put on the side or, you can put it on the bottom, separating with several empty levels from levels with actual dwellers and resource rooms...that will help if some bottom rooms will catch fire(only rooms close to emergency one will catch on fire and buffer zone will save your base), bugs are a joke, i dont even react to those...after spreading into 3-4 closest rooms they just disappear, molerat same, radscorp is a pain but only costs energy...if appears on the dweller levels - it's dead, on the bottom - just pay with energy. Entrance - lift-3 section room with maxed out dwellers-living room 2 section , why this is important...when you are attacked by strong enemy it will go - entrance(battle if defended) - pass on lift(if not killed) - 3 section room(main battle) - 2 section empty room (if not killed) - back to 3 section room(usually last battle) - and only then of not killed it will breach elevator room and move down to next level...if you put elevator room in the end there is a possibility that surviving enemy will breach it in the end of the first floor. This helps best when your defense is not top notch.

For easier incident management training rooms can be left at level 1 3 wide, it'll take a bit more time but you can worry less on those rooms
