To run a PB in Boston says a lot about your fitness and what you can do on a flatter course! A great training block and a great race, congrats!
Congrats, that's a huge improvement. Would be cool if you made a "How to" video about creating a training plan (10K/HM/M...?), for example number of runs/mileage by experience level or target time and what kind of runs + maybe some workout suggestions as well as cross training. It's probably a lot but could be a series also.
Only short of asking him to coach you
@@killian7120 A video or series like that could actually be a great way to attract potential coaching clients. Good idea đ
Congrates for the great time
Paid off the hard work
Keep up the good work
Dude this madness, I remember watching your first few videos a few years ago and to see how you have progressed is just phenomenal. Good work sir!
Itâs great to see the marathon executed so well. Iâve seen other race recaps from super strong runners and it seems they often get sucked into âstaying with the packâ, then paying for it later. Benâs disciplined decision to hold back and run his own race clearly paid off!
Thanks jeff! I think i had the bad run i had in Valencia in the back of my mind. Such fine margins and im glad i made that decision in the moment.
Congratulations, you deserve to be proud of Boston, the long hard work and commitment was all worth it!
Thanks zensei!
Well done Ben, big congratulations. Love your amazing content!
This is amazing, Iâm so proud of you. Congratulations on doing it and on the PB! This was an amazing video, thank you so much for this!
Thanks for the recap, Ben!đ
Amazing result Ben. đđ
Nutrition is one thing that the running community tend to gloss over. Its just "have a gel and drink when thirsty" most of the time.
Selfish I know, but if you could do a video at some point about Nutrition. So like an average week with the specific meals you ate, carb loading before your marathons, during the event and even after in terms of recovery or just splurging on cake and beer after the race
And really get into the details rather than "eat lots of fruits and vegetables" that other channels tend to think covers it. đđ
Congratulations Ben on your achievement, and thank you for your contribution to the sport which has a positive influence on other runners.
Awesome result at Boston, Ben! This recap on your training changes was great. Iâll have to start doing some of those long core workouts in the future. Thanks for this!
Awesome job Ben. I really appreciate how in several of your videos you look at the lessons learned aspect and not just boast about your amazing pb. I've gotten so many good tips and really revolutionized my training thanks to you. Keep it up mate đ
Great recap Ben, Boston was also my first major and first time there, totally agree with your summary of Boston, I pulled it back on pace as I was ill in the weeks beforehand, happy to get to the line and enjoyed every step of it, best running experience of my life, planning to go back next year đ hope your training goes well for the rest of the year
Wow Ben. What a great race you did. Can't believe you were solo most of the race. Happy for you. I also did boston and found the atmosphere amazing. What a fun day. Keep up the great work on the courses and on these videos. Congrats again
Great recap and congratulations on your new PB
An incredible journey from where you started out, been following along for quite some time and your progress is inspirational to many, sadly I can never achieve this being early 50s and coming back from femoral neuropathy, keep up the great work.
Nice recap hoping to do something similar this yr going from Seville in Feb to Leeds in May albeit alot lot slower...
Well Done-absolute HERO! Great tatt
Congratulations for everything you've achieved Ben, amazing accomplishments in such sort time, I'm so happy for you, I hope to see you soon among the elites of the sport.
I have to add, I followed your advice of manual lapping every 5km pointer during the marathon and it was truly game-changing, along with the lap pace on the watch face it was so easy to track my progress during the race, I'm keeping that one from now on, cheers!
Great vlog Ben; loved the training session in London as well as the Boston vlogs too!
Great improvement Ben, its interesting that food and core have been my biggest improvements after sleep (ive always loved sleeping). After changing to a whole food plant based diet I have seen improvements in training and post-workouts/race with no other change feeling so positive. All the best on your journey and be great to see you do another ultra marathon sometime in the future.
Ben I love the transparency with Adidas and Prodirect.
Congrats Ben!1â€đ
Excellent job Ben. Thatâs a hell of a performance on that course.
Amazing work đ.
Good Race Ben!
Dude have his PB on Boston...
Built different...
Love your channel! Great to see your channel growing! Keep it up Ben! đââïžđȘ
Thanks Tim
Well done Ben!! Massive congratulations. You deserve this so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Giannis
Great run Ben. Looking forward to your track season. You'll have the 29:xx for 10k in no time!
Love itttt LETS GOOO đđ
Really satisfying smart race. Pleasure watching you succeed like this, dude.
Thank you Arlo
superb!...really helpful backstory and I think your note about eating and core strengths will ring true with many. Well done on your excellent run...
Thanks John
Amazing running Ben. And an inspiration to us allđȘ
Thank you Ian
Well done Ben. That was a great run and very well deserved for all your hard work.
Thank you Andy
This is so good! And congrats again on your PR! I was wondering if you could do a video that goes into more depth of your nutrition? I struggle that when I try to eat âcleanerâ I end up not getting enough calories inâŠ.
Congrats Ben! I've been following your journey since Hackney last year and it's crazy but also inspiring how much you've improved in 12 months. Looking forward to the next 12 months!
Thanks Matty!
Congrats again Ben! Super proud and I donât even know you! Always cheering you on from down in Aus!
Appreciate you nonetheless Jamie! Thank you
great recap, man. and again, what a race! many kudos!
Thank you Tercio
You development on so many levels are inspiring!
Thanks Erik!
Fantastic result well earned đ
Congratulations on the PB! Really interesting video, a great example of how key tweaks can impact on race day. Could you provide the link for the Kenyan Core Video please?
Inspirational stuff Ben
On that course and in those conditions itâs equivalent of at least a 2:22 on a faster course like Berlin or Valencia đ„ what a run mate! Aaaand sub 30 10k đŻ sounds juicy! Count me in!!
Very sensible smart running Ben . Kenya certainly gave you ways to refine your training, nutrition is key too. Well done đđ
It certainly did! Crazy how many tips and tricks i picked up in just 2 weeks! Thank you Amanda
Mate, unreal! Not just the PB(s) this year but your description of the finish... soaking up the crowd solo must've been incredible!
Thanks buddy, it really was special!
Heck yea. You deserve everything coming to you. Thank you for being such a cool, normal human when i met you in the athlete's village. You are A+ rad!
Thanks buddy! Im just a normal guy sharing the journey!
Felizidades Senorito Ben! Gracias! GG!
Congrats Ben, could you share your video about core routine that you mentioned in the video.
Well done! Come visit South Africa. Soweto Marathon is early November, looking at 50 000 people running through the townships.đ
Simple and humble đ great job bud đȘđ»
Thanks bro, i learnt with the best
Great video mate, will definitely look back at this when I eventually take on Boston in years to come!
đ
Thanks bud! Iâm sure youâll smash it. Canât wait to see you move up the distances
That is great performance ! I suspect in ideal weather, flat course kind of situation you could be even faster :-) love the content you make ; keep inspiring us :-)
Great recap!
Well done Ben
Congratulations Ben, I was shocked to hear that this was only your 4th marathon. Relatively new to your channel, I'd love to know more about your running journey.
Plenty more to come!
I agree, I think marathon experience really helps - you know what to expect, you know how your body will feel, a better understanding of fuel and hydration too. It gives you extra confidence for sure.
Just knowing how you should feel at the half way and the 20 mile point is a huge advantage :)
You da man! Amazing!
Congratulations Ben, absolutely smashed it
Thank you Jack
Brill, off to check core workout, thanks!
Really inspiring, Ben, thank you! Looks like no way to avoid core training, heh... Congratulations on impressive PB!
Ive neglected it for so long. If i can get through 45 mins of death by core i can get through a marathon no problem.
Congrats on the big PB Ben!
Thanks Eric
Amazing stuff and sounds very sensible easing off from the pack etc! Also very pleased to hear Iâm not the only one who has to eat a whole slab of chocolate in one go! x
Excellent.
Great running, enjoy your rest.
And I'm 100 % with you with the chocolate đ
The donuts talk and moderation talk was like talking to myself.
Love the content! Hey Ben where is the link to the core workout from Kenya? Thanks.
Love to see it Ben, on a flatter course, with that effort, what time do you think you couldâve got that down to?
Thanks for the tips on diet
No matter what race, weâll be rooting for you!
Very well done Ben! You finally nailed it đ
Thanks đđ»
@@BenIsRunning top man!
Congratulations! I am hoping to run the London Marathon next year!
Thanks! Hope your lucky enough to get in!
Congratulations Ben! đ Can you tell me where you got this shoeboxes from which are visible in the background?
Congrats Ben! I am curious on a fast course what you think you could potentially run a marathon in assuming everything went as planned?
Thank you so much for your informative video. You mentioned posting a link to the core workout you did in Kenya which was filmed by someone else, however I cannot see, or find, this link?
Inspiration bro! I have been following you always since I have started running! But youâre progress of BostonM23 couldnât make me any much prouder â€
Thank you! Appreciate the support
@@BenIsRunning a question, did Adios 3 Pro gave you an extra push compared to the others?
Well done Ben! Congrats on your PB :) Could you share the link to the core workouts you mentioned in the vid??
czcams.com/video/aTu7PNgZ5Tc/video.html
Would you do a follow along core workout video?
Good on ya
Great video man! I eat fairly healthy for the most part but if I do fancy a donut or a treat food, I like to find a proper recipe and make it myself, which is much more time consuming than just going to the shop and buying it. This makes it easier for me to have things in moderation without feeling restricted because I donât always have time/energy to be making donuts or cookies all the timeđđ
Thats a great way of doing it! It still be that guy eating all the cookies before theyve had time to cool down aha
Time improvement is impressive, but six donuts in a sitting is a singular talent. Many congratulations on conquering the raspberry fillings, an inspiration to all â€ïž
congratulations, you did amazing! i was wondering where can i find the link to the ab workout you mention?
Thanks K, here you go: czcams.com/video/aTu7PNgZ5Tc/video.html
Congrats Ben.. summary: clean eating, strength/core training, and focus on workout.. thanks for inspiring us..
Thank you and building on from previous consist blocks :)

Nicely done! Did h
You train for hills or specific to the Boston course?
†this đđœ best of times to you đ
Total inspiration, sub 20:20 soonđ
Food makes your body what you want to beâ€đ„
Revenge I was reading blood type food diet that seems really interesting subject ( not fab diet)
Awesome job Ben! Huge inspiration! Just ran my first marathon in Toronto this past weekend and qualified for Boston. Can't wait to experience this next year!
Great job youâll love it đ
Great work @Powellcon! And congrats on your BQ!
May I ask what program did you use for your first Marathon training?
@@KenDiaries hi Ken, I modified a version of the Nike Marathon Plan. Very typical marathon plan. Built up to 100km weeks by Week 12. And then did 4-5 weeks at 100km + mileage. Two speed days a week, one reduced day at about 30-40 mins easy. And then the rest are 15-16km days. And my long runs between 30-40km.
@@Powellcon Fantastic! And Congratulations.
Iâm running my first too in Toronto this Oct.
Will be starting training for this one probably by next week.
Iâd love to qualify for Boston someday!
Serious progression in short amount of time
Shit, was literally eating a donut I bought on the way home today cause they were on sale when you were talking about donuts đ đł
Unbelievable! Congratulations! I saw you in Valencia, by the way, I'm from there, what would you recommend us to do for those of us who can't go under 38 minutes for the 10K? I'd appreciate it if you could help us with some words, is running technique very important? Best regards!
6:05 hi Ben, do you have link to the core workout video?
Congratulations Ben! Super Inspiring! I'm about to head into my first world major / marathon training block for the New York City Marathon. Are you doing that one this year?
Good luck, not this year but ive heard its quite a challenging on so down shy away from the hills on your long runs :)
@@BenIsRunning Thank you! I've heard this also will make sure to prep for the hills! I start my training in June all the way through Australian cold weather đ€Ł
Do you include any protein powders or supplements in your diet? Please do a full video on any nutrition and core training đđŒ
About 15 mins slower than Eliud Kipchoge remarkable Ben
good vid bro as ususal haha
Amazing Ben;
Would you race your next marathon in the Pro 3 ?
It certainly would be at the top of the list currently
I think the standout thing for me watching your race was just how comfortable you looked. Iâm sure running at that pace isnât at all comfortable, but you just looked super relaxed and efficient. Reminded me (just a tiny bit!) of David Rudisha running the 800m at London 2012. Has anyone ever looked more like the complete running machine? Good luck with sub-30
Thank you! With the marathon thats the trick i guess, run as fast but as effieciently as possible so you can hold your form in the later stages of the race. fine margins mind you :)
59th well done!
Hey Ben, congratulations on all of your accomplishments. By chance is the link available to the ab workout/regimen you did in Kenya? Means a lot, thank you!
Thanks Marquis: czcams.com/video/aTu7PNgZ5Tc/video.html

Is there a link or previous video for the ab routines? I'm looking to improve my core as well.
Hey Ben! Can't seem to find thr ab workout - can you share the link again? Thanks!
