- This Camper Van Conversion has been an ABSOLUTE MISSION for two Major Reasons. Number 1, we were on a very tight budget and number 2, l had a very narrow time frame to get it done by.
Having never done a van conversion before it was a massive learning curve with more twists and turns than something that has a lot of twists and turns 🤣
All up it took a solid five weeks to finish the van and l have to say that it turned out pretty nice.

It brings so much joy to me as a father to watch Jack's expression. I am so happy to see you receive such a heartfelt appreciation from your labor. He obviously received way more than what he was expecting. I'm sure he drove home in disbelief with a giant grin on his face. The whole reveil was priceless. Uncle Knackers!! Great job!! I'm a father of a young child and one of the worries I have, is the day I no longer see the big smile and her thinking I'm a superhero. Seeing your adult son have that same "my dad's a superhero" smile, gave me all kids of warm and fuzzies and restored my belief that there's still plenty more of those special smiles for quite a few years to come. Hello, I'm from UK and I've watched a lot of small van conversions over the last couple of years (and most of your videos too). Yours has to be one the most concise and easy to follow process from start to finish. Your woodworking skills and attention to the smallest of details are what make this conversion so neat and practical. You son looked a bit overwhelmed to see what you've made for him. Driving off shirtless into the sunset, choosing a new beach every morning, sausages and bacon cooking while you're watching the waves, lie back on the bed in arms reach of the cold beers, your mates kicking around the place and talking shit cos none of you have any real dependencies or responsibilities just yet, what a life! 😁 Imagine being young again Shane! 😁 Great job, loved it all!

Divine. Form and function. That van is fantastic. Actually, because of the vibe that went into it, magical. Love it so much. Jack-that is one happy surfer, grateful because he knows how it was before the conversion. Bet he appreciates it often. I am imagining his friends saying, “no way, your Dad did this” when they see it. So cool. Hope the foot surgery healing is going well. You are amazing! Congratulations. Well done.

Totally nailed this build, Shane! it looks fantastic, it seems extremely effective while still being simple, excellent use of space to maximize storage and you can tell your son loves it! That's a project to be proud of!

Great van conversion. There is plenty of room for a young bloke. My query is with the solar charging point. The Grey Anderson plug will not plug into the Red Anderson plugs as the different coloured plugs won't plug into different colours as each one has a different keyway. You probably should change one of the grey plugs out with a red one on the lead. Cliff.

What a great ending to the journey, loved every second of this build. I initially thought you might struggle to fit into the short wheelbase van because you're both giants but it works perfectly. One of your best yet mate

1) a fold op table
2) somehow to raise the headend of the bed
3) 220v(or is it 110v down under) outlet for his laptop
And i would have made the cooktop electric, now you have the solar panels

Love the recessed lights in the roof and all that storage is great! Forget renting an RV from Apollo again I'd prefer to have you build something out for my next road trip to AU. LoL The carpet on the wall is great for holding Velcro items and patches and bamboo mats are a super cheap way to catch the beach sand. Good luck with the foot surgery!

Great use of space and well thought out. This will be a future project for myself and the missus when we decide to travel the countryside. Just needs a nice 3m awning on the kitchen side to complete the ensemble.... all up awesome job as usual mate.
