If someone said Michael Romeo was the greatest guitarist of all time, I'd have ZERO problem with that. His talent is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. Symphony X is a band that simply too good to be true.

to me Symphony X is better than DT because Russel Allen is much better vocalist than Labrie and SX is alot heavier. And SX is never boring to listen, when DT sometimes is.

metalRi croatia I prefer Dream Theater, but I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve never heard Dream Theater use the harmonic minor scale in such an engaging way. I love this song’s keyboard riff, and I love Russel Allen’s vocals.

I think the same way, but I also think DT has got better with Mangini. To me there are less boring parts in their music, if any. I think Distance over time is great.

Allen is simply the most powerful voice in the prog space...... There are some other compelling singers, but not anyone that gets to this level. His story telling prowess is just unmatched.... the band is there for him and the overall music drives a complete vision.... What else are you looking for?

This chorus in this song sounds like something of my favorite Symphony X album - The Oddysey. I like it.
Symphony X is the greatest metal band on the planet... PERIOD. Nobody touches these guys. They raised the bar on metal music when they hit the world with DIVINE WINGS of TRAGEDY back in 1996. The rest is HISTORY. They are the new GODS of METAL.

ICONOCLAST is probably my favorite Symphony X album, PERIOD. They kick so much ass on this album, it doesn't even seem humanly possible. All you whiners out there need to shut the hell up. This is the most powerful Symphony X to date. These guys are a METAL BAND! Never forget that. If you don't like metal, don't listen! This new album raises the bar yet again, for what this incredibly talented group of guys can achieve. Just when I think I heard it all... the blow me away once again!

I can proudly say that I'm from the great state these masters of music hail from, New Jersey, and that I've seen them live 4 times (not enough in my book), and that it's great to hear that they've evolved to a heavier sound while still retaining their Symphony X sound. Ladies and gentlemen, this is one of those bands that will keep getting better, because their hearts and souls are in the music, and luckily enough for us they share this genius with us! I've pre-ordered this album already :P

My favourite band for a long time, ever since The Odyssey. Although its been a long wait in between the last couple albums, it's been worth it. Can't get enough of them, can't wait for the Iconoclast tour to come near me so I can finally see them live =)

The Manaus show on June 3rd 2011 was great. It was the second time of SX in Manaus (first on June 2007), and despite the fact we now had a smaller venue the concert was amazing! This song looks incredible nice and pretty sharp to my ears and worked very well live, sounded better than studio version (cool indeed). Congrats and thanks to SX for releasing this true fucking metal missle called Iconoclast into my ears! Keep metal going strong!!!!

Their best album will always be "V: The New Mythology Suite". Such a perfect model. The rest is merely a reproduction of the same patents. Which does not mean that this album is bad. Quite the contrary. Certainly perform better than the last.
