Excellent video. Few things to remember when you drive on these highways.
If you are driving alone a long distance make sure you don't fall asleep. Sometimes boredom of driving alone will make you tired fast. Listen to music , have some coffee or tea but don't be on the cell phone talking to anyone. I keep some chewing gum in my vehicle and when I feel tired I chew gum and that keeps me awake.
Driving at night make sure anyone in the front seat does not fall asleep. If the front seat passenger falls asleep the driver will fall asleep fast too. Ask any experienced driver they will tell you this. But it is going to be difficult for hired van, car or bus drivers. If you operate one of these, you have to be extra careful.
If you are driving slower than the speed limit drive on the left lane. Also heavy vehicles should use the left lane and these highways must have signs that say "Heavy Vehicles use left lane ".
The Traffic Police should include some of these technical questions in a simple manner, that MRJ explaining in this video on the written portion of the driving test.
The Police should clearly state on the driving license application wether driving in Sri Lanka is a Privilege or a Right. I wonder how many drivers know this.

If highway has two lanes right lane is the fast lane and left lane is the slow lane. If you drive it is recommended to drive on left lane. Then those who drive fast can easy to overtake you on right lane. They don’t have to change lanes to right to left to over take other vehicles. Also most importantly you can drive in between lanes (middle of the road) if you change lanes you have to put indicators. Both sides. If you change the lane to right or left YOU MUST PUT YOUR BLOODY INDICATORS. Then the people driving behind you know where you going. When you changed lanes make sure you do with good distance to one behind you. They should not slow down for you.
Pls mention to avoid using high beam light during night drive. also cutting off the overtaking vehicle. Non of the Sri Lankan drivers know about driving ettiquettes. pls do a videon on smae.

1. කාරනය - safe distance:- තත්පර 3ක් වත් වෙන්න ඕනෙ. ඒ කියන්නේ, අපට ඉදිරියෙන් යන වාහනේ පසුකරන ස්තනායට අපි තත්පර 3 කින් තමයි එන්නෙ ඕනෙ. speed drive කරද්දී ට්නත්න්නත්පර 3 ක් ගනින්නේ මෙහෙමයි. 1001, 1002, 1003 (one thousand one, one thousand two, once thousand three) කියල හිතෙන් කියවන්න. කොහොමද ඒක තියගන්නේ කියලා මේ link එකේ තියෙනවා. අපේ රටේ අය නම් පස්සට හොම්බ තියාගෙනමයි එන්නේ.
2. කාරනය - ම්ං තීරුව:- හැමවිටම වම් තීරුව පාවිච්චි කරන්න, දකුනු තීරුව පසුකර යාම සඳහා පමනක් පාවිචි කරන්න.

I've been using Southern express way since 2011.But I had an experience of aquaplane or hydroplane incident when I was driving my Vitz 100 kmph in a rainy day in 2015 & costs me over 1.0 mio rupees.
My advice is reduce the speed up to 60 kmph if the road is wet.
& Mr MRJ please make a request through your you tube channel all drivers & riders reduce their high beam head lamp to dim position when a vehicle comes from opposite direction in night.
