@@justaybp6921 No, look at who got the most land after 3 rapeds of Poland - Prussia got Warsaw and most of the true Poland, Russia took away only all the lands where once lived Rusyns, Ukrainians, Cossacks Russians and Belarusians - This is only after Napoleon we took the remains of Poland, but with the loss of independence - It was Prussia that played a key role.
And yes, at first we didn’t want to divide Poland - Then the king was friendly to us in Poland, but when the Austrian emperor and Prussia decided to divide Poland we could not allow them to become too strong - And we had to show our "Friendly intentions" by helping to kill Poland, otherwise Austria could have attacked Russia with the Ottomans, and then Russia would be raped in all holes.
We are most guilty of what happened with Poland in 1945 - Then yes, we have shown ourselves to terribly force Poland and the Polish people to accept communism.
google the difference between the Russification of Poland and the Germanization of Poland - We even gave Poland a big autonomy called the "Kingdom of Poland", while Germany acted decisively and pursued a rather strong policy towards the former Poland. Now imagine what would happen if the Germans conducted such a Germanization in Warsaw.

Venice is one of the best vassals imo.
They can't colonize, they can't convert things for you, and they don't have tons of cores. So why are they so good? Because they exist in an end node *that you do not want to be collecting in yourself* (assuming you want to keep trade power bonuses from your own merchants). That means you don't neuter their income, and they always end up with 40 stacks stacks mid game, and 80+ late. You mentioned holland, novgorod, and byzantium. They all are in good nodes, but in most games you'll want to steer their trade power to you, meaning they'll have no money for armies... unlike Venice.
Also Venice is in a great strategic position. If you give them austria's mountains you can build them a few strong forts which they will maintain for you to guard you from otto in the east or france in the west. The AI also often take defensive ideas which makes these forts all the better.Their soldiers aren't the strongest, but they can constantly rebuild them, and who needs manpower when they have the money for mercenaries? They also have a very strong republic government, and often develop their lands well from excess monarch power.
In practice I find them to be one of the most stable and reliable vassals.

@@chrisporter8391 It's an end node so you can't steer money out of it to your own home node (usually genoa or english channel).

Thanks for the input, have not really thought about end node vassals too much.
      Side note:
When playing as Ashikaga, I found Maguindanao to be a surprisingly useful vassal. Easy stepping stone to all of Southeast Asia, tons of cultural brotherland to feed, military+fleet bonuses, and I can't remember the administrative traditions but they were decent too. As a march they were actually quite useful as a vassal when conquering India, east Asia and even joined in quite swiftly on wars in the Americas.
They don't get colonists though, like a few others in the region can get.
Edit: And the reason I remembered them lol, they are downstream of you, so can use that to your advantage.
Also had Andhra as an Indian vassal which worked well (have not reached Sindh yet).
It is not a WC save. (Even though I suppose it hypothetically is feasible with Ashikaga vassal swarm which I am doing but I just want to have fun and will see where it ends up)
