The microwaves require a 120 volt, individual, properly grounded branch circuit with a 3 prong grounding type receptacle protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. Check your breaker box and wiring.

Be careful placing a microwave above stove so close to stove. A family member just had a fire and it melted the microwave. Fire dept told us to make sure this family member DOESN'T PUT ANOTHER microwave above the stove. A skillet grease fire

This does not answer the most important question!!!!!!! The safe functional distance between the cook top and bottom of the microwave.
This guy assumes every microwave is of the same height. I'm putting in a low profile 10 inches high. So this is useless.

Sure can, I've never heard any issues about that. All mine have been gas, most I've seen are gas.
