Every one that drives should learn how to change oil and filter’s , was a must with my dad. ! Glad he taught me how to care for the car myself if I had to . ❤
My dad would not let me drive until I changed tires, changed oil and spark plugs, fix hoses( old days) fixed fuses (learned the chewing gum trick). even changed brakes. I was mad. I said. You never made the boys do this before they could drive. He said he wasn’t worried about them being broke down in a lonely back road by themselves. Can’t tell you of the times I silently said THANK YOU DAD.
When I got my first car my dad gave me a socket wrench set. Told me to keep it in the car and I would be able to maintain it. I learned to change oil and tires. I learned to change spark plugs, check all fluids, jump a battery, change filters. Back then, I popped the hood and could see the street below when you looked down at the engine.
@@reibersue4845 cars were very different back then n yes always had set of tools n jumper cables

Job well done! My husband said, he doesn't know how people that don't do their own repairs can afford a vehicle these days. He said parts are getting outrageous then to pay labor cost too. 😬
For sure. I just purchased a starter for the dozer. If I hired it out to be repaired it would be twice as much to have it done by someone else. The satisfaction of doing it yourself and learning in the process is satisfying.
I’m finally getting to watch the video, my brother had a triple bypass today, so we were at the hospital all day. Surgery went well and they were getting ready to take him to recovery. You made that look so easy. Thanks and Many Blessings! God IS so good all the time!
I am glad the surgery went well. I will be praying for healing and quick recovery
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you!
You mean your brother has priority over watching my video! (chuckle) So glad the surgery went well. Hope he's "back in the saddle" soon!
@@MrRain-hk4zi well, his name is also Patrick and he’s a pretty special guy! Thank you for the well wishes!
Our daughter has a 2013 Kia Soul, so this is good information to have!
The symptom was low power. It put me in mind of a plugged filter which is also located in the same housing.
@MrRain-hk4zi so far, her rig has had no issues. 🤞 But good information to have. I had no clue that's where the pump was, under the back seat!
Very interesting. I am a do it yourself person with limited income. Can’t pay high repair prices.
Absolutely, necessity makes it necessary for an interest in learning and doing yourself when you are limited for resources not just financially but material limitations as well.
Patrick, you always make repairs seem so easy! lol I have never been lucky enough to change a fuel pump the had a convenient access cover to remove the old pump. My choices have always been drop the tank or cut your own access hole. lol BTW I didn’t choose the “cut a hole” method, the owner did. It was a truck and he already cut the hole before I got there. Thanks for another repair video. You do such a good job explaining things. Phil
Thank you Phil. I fixed this for my daughter-in-law but I had a similar set up with my GEO Metro. Once one learns how easy it is to do, it's not intimidating. Of coarse I'm speaking to the choir.
Thank you Pat (and Heidi)!
Blessings! 💜
Now go out and change that pump in that KIA Soul Trish! 😊Thanks for hanging out with us.
Looks like about the same as the Sorento. That was one thing that I really liked about my Kia, fuel maintenance was really easy!
Right, that seems like the common denominator for some of the newer cars. One thing they got right.
Great detailed video. Will definitely be using it to change out my fuel pump
Very nice video and the way you mark everything to make sure the new filter will be in place as the original
is very thoughtful , i don't have a Kia Soul , i have an Optima 2013 it is an instructive video to watch
Thank for sharing
I really enjoyed this and TY for making the video! God bless you mightily!
Appreciate it!
Good Job Pat! That other fuel line is probably a return.
I would suspect you are right Tim. Appreciate your insight and wisdom.
great job sir
Thank you!
Good job Patrick! is there nothing you can't do Patrick?
Plenty, but thanks!
Excellent video!!
Great video! Well done! Love all the explanation and the extra tips. Thank you! Is there a fuel filter on the car or is it a part of the pump? I didn't see anything that looked like it would be a filter.
Wow, you can do so much. Pretty nice. Good.job Mr. Rain 😊
I did a little trouble shooting on the "University of CZcams" to help figure out where and how to get to the pump. Always learning.
@@MrRain-hk4zi we are always learning
Flashing fuel pump light after fill up caps tight
Thanks 😊
Thanks for stopping in!
Thank you. I have cousin who mechanic and he's an azz charges to help us. Well I guess I going be CZcams mechanic. Thx for the help.
Thank you!
...And thanks to you!
So I’m assuming the fuel filter was in the new assembly?
🙏🙏🙏🙂♥️👍. Good tips God bless
Appreciate the company!
I am having trouble finding instructions on how to change my fuel filter on a 2012 kia forte. Can you help me out? Know where to go look for them, or a spec/diagram
