Exactly. This is why there's a difference in reading specs off a sheet & actually shooting out in the real world. I remember people going gagga about the D7000 over the 49 point AF system & it's 'magnesium alloy' body. Well, in the end, the multi cam 4800DX AF system turned out to be a huge disappointment & the mag alloy body wasn't mag alloy at all. It was 2 thin plates on the top & back with the rest being plastic. People need to realise that the specs a manufacturer gives on paper means nothing until it's tested in the real world

As always, great video! I have a Nikon D500 with a nice base selection of F-mount lenses, including the 200-500 f/5.6. Living in interior Alaska, I have ample opportunity to photograph big game (Moose, Caribou, Musk Ox, etc..) and I live next to a bird sanctuary where I can photograph all types of northern migration birds. I have never been in a situation where I have found the D500 not able to meet my needs, from Portraits, to Astro / Aurora Borealis, to wildlife and Landscape. It is an incredible camera, and when paired with good glass should be a solid camera body for a few more years to come. I have a friend who does wildlife professionally, and he swears by his Cannon 7D2, and his 5D4. He says the same about his Cannon cameras, that when paired with good glass, they are unstoppable. Moral of this long white up... regardless to what body you go with, both are excellent cameras and when paired with good glass, will produce fantastic images for years to come.

Wow, that's amazing that you live so close to a bird sanctuary and get to click all this wildlife. I hope to visit Alaska someday 😃

I can't believe that Nikon have discontinued such a wonderful camera. I met some people recently who were using the 200-500 lens on mirrorless cameras and complaining about the autofocus speed... The lens is wonderful, it's just that many mirrorless cameras cannot achieve the AF speed that the D500 camera does 😃

    Thank you so much!
it's almost impossible to find real comparative tests between the D500 and the 7d mark ii.
Is it (still?) possible to have a comparison of the rise in iso please?
    Thanks in advance !!

The D7500 is a big upgrade from the D7200. It's got the same sensor as the D500 but slower fps etc. Why do you need the 70-300mm?
