    His ambition and humility is priceless! "I don't want to get there first, I want to get it right!" Love that statement!

    i love toyota, but a lot of this stuff really seems to be answering questions that few if anyone is asking. I wish them all the best with battery breakthroughs, without massive breakthroughs in both energy density and cost then bev's will be as successful as bev's of 20, 40, 60 and 100 years ago. and the e palette thing ... whatever, maybe i just need to see it in action to see how it benefits me. but i am enthusiastic about improved lda aeb and autonomy which will be facing many incremental hurdles before we get to levels 4 and 5, the man giving the presentation seemed to be very charming and charismatic and thoroughly enjoyed his role

      Each company tends to innovate technologies/products based on the needs in that country. Japan is suffering from decrease in population and aging population, they sure do need robots or non-human power to fuel their society in the future, hence why Toyota--a Japanese company--puts emphasize on autonomous machines in the future.

    I am wondering if this decision and direction is why Toyota is not featuring production model automobiles in Forza Motorsport 7 and Need for Speed Payback. Not trying to cause any drama, just wondering why that is, that's all.

    Now that you have added Toyota Safety Sense we can no longer modify Tacos or Tundras... :(. Look at the Gen 2 Raptor, Ford added the same features and then more but you can modify... really wanted a 2018 Taco but because of the restrictions (no lifts) I will be looking at a Gen 2 Raptor... sad as I have always loved and owned Toys...

    how is e-palette any different than what Waymo or Tesla or Uber (or everyone else) was planning to do? having vehicles be used for different purposes, and easily interchangable from one purpose to the next is no different than what already happens today (a restaurant on wheels, and video game party van, etc.), just with added autonomy which is what everyone's working on. also, I know it was just an animation, but their vans/buses were not aerodynamic, and they had people standing in them with bikes and such which might be unrealistic considering that an AI will quickly break if someone crosses the road

    I just bought a 2018 Camry and I love the car.But I can tell you this: I’m never gonna by a electric car,no way would I do that.They aren’t fun do drive and have no exhaust note and no character.

    • @RichardRSmith
      @RichardRSmith Před 6 lety +3

      Both statements show a utter lack of intelligence. First because there is no solution for GPS for your $ 40 thousand dollar MSRP 2018 Camry unless you only bought the 6 cylinder which only 5 percent of we Camry owners have done. And second because you may have NO CHOICE in the future. I bought a 2013 Camry XLE Hybrid. You will NEVER buy an electric car. Toyota has invented a new battery which is going to totally change these vehicles. Not that you know any of this.

      I think realistically in the near(ish) future there will be a market mostly made up of electric vehicles or at least hybrid with very small engines. So it's likely that if you want a new vehicle you'll have to adapt. I do however agree with not wanting an electric vehicle if I could only have 1 vehicle. I like the idea of it all and love experiencing new things however the excitement in driving some crazy car with pops and bangs galore is a large factor in car guys purchase choices so i think their will be an even larger aftermarket presence. Therefore if possible maybe having a daily electric/high efficiency hybrid and a weekend car that is really inefficient and fun would be the best compromise. hopefully we still get to have fun cars that use lots of petrol though.
