    Something so refreshing about the teacher saying you might have to stop and practice this bit or it’s okay not to get it straight away or this is the trickiest bit. Makes you feel fine about not getting it straight away and wanting to keep trying. Amazing lesson thanks champ

    Hey Shane. I just came across this one. You take a song which I can play with simple cowboy open chords and turn it into an amazing piece of melodic music with your technique and application. Really makes playing the instrument so much more fun. Also, if I could play like you I would never put the guitar down.

    Hi Shane , your comments about so many versions and what do you really need to play a song is so appropriate here. Your focus on the A chord is bang on too.Using other than 234 fingers is almost impossible. Never seen it suggested it be done this way but for this tune right on.thank you for making this tune doable for me now.

    Great informative lesson...only thing I might say is that the most common thing most of these utube tutorials do is spend waaay too much time talking...it's not that complicated and I can always back it up if I need to catch something I missed....but other than that was very complete lesson...

    Great lesson! On the intro for the A shape, since the D string is not played, why not shift the fingers so the hammer on and pull off is not with the pinky?

    Love this song! Good job on the lesson. Do I really need nails though to play fingerstyle? I do typing for a living and nails would be a no-no for me, although I think I would really not want them anyway. Can you actually get a decent volume with flesh only?

      Thanks for that Astronomy79 - there are some great players who do not have nails - they get a more mellow tone and it's great. I have always used my nails for finger style guitar - I find they do help. cheers, Shane
