What's your favorite song in the Trails in the Sky trilogy?
There's so many favorites, but I'd give it to Fighting Right On, as that track singlehandedly got me into the series (I stumbled across a Persona 3 stream by DangerDoug, and after he finished P3, he moved onto Trails in the Sky the 3rd, and the moment I heard Fighting Right On, I knew, right then and there, I wanted to be a Trails fan). And so far, Trails in the 3rd is my favorite Trails game, and it dethroned Etrian Odyssey V as my favorite game of all time.
Many. But if I had to pick my top, it would be Silver Will, Sophisticated Fight, and Whereabouts of Light (all versions)
I love " A Cat Relaxing in the Sun " so much that I learned to play it in guitar
I love the Trigun reference at 12:45!
Going to watch all your Trails videos.
It warms my heart when composers decided to talk about games' OST, as it broaden my knowledge about whatever the song is about, and also their opinion about it.
My favorite songs in Sky are:
Sora no Kiseki - Falcom JDK Band 2008 Spring
This is basically arranged Shine of Aidios with different instruments. Dreamy vibe, I love it.
Silver Will - Falcom JDK Band 2008 Spring
Another good banger.
Do note that even though I played Sky, I never finished it because back then I was just a young boy who wanted to play the game I liked.
I was exposed to Trails soundtrack through aforementioned album, the Falcom JDK Band 2008 Spring. From there on, I grew liking the OST even more, and looking forward to whatever Falcom is creating.
Great video, and I'm never ready to hear stairway to gehenna, such a great music but it's so traumatising too, I love it.
HE DON'T MISS!
Best game ever
Loved the video.
Kinda sad you didn't talk about the Ouroboros theme (The Enforcers) since it fucking slaps.
I might add a section in the last video for songs I missed. I'll try to cover this one if I do it
Can't believe Merciless Savior doesn't make an appearance here. To me it is the most perfect embodiment of your journey up to that point of any song I've heard in any JRPG, and I would put it up there in the pantheon next to Dancing Mad.
Just got this recommended to me and once CZcams did it's job. Loved this video and subscribed. Great stuff mate.
CZcams knows I watch everything trails related =p
This video deserves so much more views and likes, your amazing work will pay off one day! Bless youtube algorithm for recommending this video to me. Subscribed.
This is good shit.
A very underrated video. Good job this game series has a lot of bangers
I've finally finished SC earlier this week, and The 3rd feels so strange in comparison to the earlier two, especially terms of music, that polyrhythmic theme for the Recluse Cube sends shivers down my spine.
The main overworld theme in FC is actually The Way They Walk in Liberl.
Great video though :)
Ok, this may go viral.
5:35 dat reverse Uno right there. 😅
What about Silver Will, Enforcers, Kohaku No Ai (Olivier's theme), Fateful Confrontation, Gravestone Struck by Lightning, Merciless Savior and Cradle Where Feelings Rest.
Here's a fun fact Decision to Leave was a leftover track from RINNE.
please make a video about all the leitmotifs. I found some tracks between the game very similar and I can't put my finger on it and it's driving me insane
I've been thinking of putting something together! any tracks you've been thinking about in particular?
16:01 you didn't feel in the timestamp to skip to the end at 18:22, dont worry i know editing videos are tough stuff just wanna help
thank you for pointing these out (and for watching)! I was rushing the editing for this video 😵
apologies where @10:30 hamel is there suppose to be some script that was missed during this part of the video?
Edit: OK Nevermind im dumb i didn't see the note at the bottom saying its covered in spoiler section
Soul asf
real
Dude this video is amazing. Trails in general has phenomenal music, love the ost for Zero/Azure, but Sky just has something that the others don't...thanks for this
I love the music in this series so much.
will you be reviewing more trails games? Would love to hear your thoughts on sky, Zero, and all the others! Also love to see another umineko enjoyer!
I've been thinking about it! It's been so long since I've played the pre-Cold Steel Trails games though so I don't think I'd want to do a full-on review for them
11:30 visuals were wrong as its not the whereabouts of hope but repeated shine on Aidios
Ayo, where are the retrospectives after cs3, my dude?
I've finished the script for CS4! I just need to find the time and drive to record the audio and edit the video.
Very good video but on 2:27 is the JDK band 2014 not 2019
8:50-ish: Looking Up at the Sky is from Unisuga, not Takeshita
oopsies
I wont lie i skipped the third game cause it’s more fanservice than important story but it seems like it had the best soundtrack wow!
3rd is still the single most important game in regards to the lore/future of the series so consider looking up a summary at the very least!
Sky the Third is by far the best "Filler Arc" I've experienced in any story. While the world doesn't really change much in this game, there is a lot of really phenomenal character development and it also does a great job foreshadowing and building up the events that take place in the Crossbell and Erebonian arcs. imo it should not be skipped.
I played Sky FC right after Chrono Cross, so I had an insane ost combo going
