  • To reduce Hyperpigmentation, Dark Spots and Melasma you need a well rounded anti-pigmentation skincare regimen that incorporates skin lightening agents with the proper balance of skin regeneration, hydration, exfoliation, prepping, and protecting. Together these factors synergistically aid in removing hyperpigmentation and maintaining lasting results. CAUTION!!!!! Skin is so individualized and what right for one person may not be right for the next so I’ve listed several top-notch products for you here but you only need one product from each category. Below find all the recommendations made throughout the video to help you get rid of unwanted dark marks or brown patches.

    Lifestyle Changes:
Drastically Decrease Soy in diet sorry to my soy latter lovers. Soy has an estrogenic component in it and can turn on the alpha MSH pathway.
Choose an anti-inflammatory diet (minimize soy/nuts/corn/etc) rich in antioxidants
Hair Grooming- Keep Hair Dryer away from your skin as heat activates melanocytes
Facial hair- step away from the tweezers and stop picking
No Smoking of any kind/ No Vaping- nicotine will deposit more pigment in the skin.
Hot Yoga, Sauna, Try and cool off the car before entering if it's hot out
Compliance is key because correction can take anywhere from 1 month to 3+ months. Depending on the individual.

I thought actives came from everything else, and all a moisturiser had to do was to ‘seal’ things in. I just wish the audio wasn’t bad, and that you didn’t talk as fast. But MIND BLOWN 🤓

@@diabloazula7643 I like Dr. Vanita too but she did not specialize in Dermatology in medical school and is not a dermatologist. She is just a regular MD....not sure if she specialized in anything or not. I think may to be a General Practitioner. After med school she become a chemical formulator of skin products. Dr. Alexis on the other hand was a chemical formulator first, and then went to medical school specifically for Dermatology. So, from a medical perspective and dermatological standpoint, I think I give Dr. Alexis one or maybe even two up on Dr. Vanita. But, I do appreciate Dr. Vanita as well for sure. And I absolutely enjoyed the video they did together.

Hi. I've learned that Niacinamide and Vit C definitely cancels each other out so Niacinamide usually is a day serum while Vit C can be used at night.
Vit c has also been recommended to be effective with alpha arbutin so put those 2 in your night routine.
For the day, niacinamide pairs well with the azelaic acid.

I think there was a lot of very useful information here, some of which I have not heard in any other video on youtube. But, I think there needs to be - :
    1. Better preparation.
    2. Slower delivery
    3. A more structured organisation.
    4. Focus on products to solve the problems, in a way that is easier to assimilate.
The information is there somewhere, but I'll most likely have to listen to it 10 or 20 times, to decipher it all.
Especially for people of colour, there is a lot of information here, a lot. Just needs much better organisation. For example the presentation format was not uniform, from section to section.
I'll watch the more recent videos to see if she has an improved version.

      i gotchu!
      1. Oil Cleanse/Micellar Water (optional)
if you wear minimal to a lot of makeup, this step would be really good for you! just an extra precaution in order to remove most makeup
      2. Foam/Water Based Cleanse
If the first cleanse *truly* isn’t needed, I recommend starting here. Double cleansing is really recommended, but not always needed. Start your routine off with a good cleanse to clear up oil and debris.
      3. Exfoliate
Like Dr. Alexis said, enzyme exfoliants are recommended for hyperpigmentation, so you can find one that suits your skin type.
      4. Treatment
      5. Moisturizer
      6. Sunscreen
(Go for a physical sunscreen! Chemical sunscreens can cause a lot of irritation, leading to worsened hyperpigmentation.)
This list isn’t perfect, but this is a good start! you can fix and tweak any steps in order to suit your skin better.
