My late Father an ex Royal Marine Sergeant told me Marines are only allowed to be frightened by two things. In reverse order of scariness it is a sailor with a loaded rifle but far worse than is an officer, any officer, looking at a map as then you know you really are in trouble.
@@davidblyth5495 Indeed, there is - the definition of a gun is: "A gun is a device designed to propel a projectile using pressure or explosive force", which is why you should never give one to a matelot! 😄
@@donpark759 I would agree that it is a good definition of a gun - simple enough for the men in the mud! 😆 For matelots, it's different! The saying is: "Army equip the man and the Navy(/Air Force) man the equipment!" A bit simplistic as armoured corps man their cars and tanks. In the Navy, the gunners are a separate mustering - the rest of us support them eg feeding, fixing, etc My experience is that the Army is far more complex than most realise. Their staff courses are excellent
@@davidblyth5495 All tongue in cheek David - I have huge respect for all branches of our armed services, and we are all inter-reliant on each other to get the job done. As a Falklands vet, we could not have achieved that result without each other. There are a few in each service who cannot see beyond the colour of their uniform and think they are the sole protectors of our country, but in truth, they don't know their arse from their elbow!
Well said@@donpark759! We did regularly did exercises with the RN in the south Atlantic and we had great admiration for them and would socialise when alongside in Simon's Town. There are indeed those who have a tunnel vision. Often we are inclined to that when more junior until we see how we contribute to the bigger picture. An image that remains with me is the line of RN and SA Navy ships sailing in a line under overcast skies - the ships seemed to stretch from horizon to horizon!
I had visions of him fumble and drop it like it was red hot or made of bee's then landing and accidentally discharging in his Big toe, sorry Andy pandy's...
Wrong. The navy can and do, and as I said use SA80's. They don't have short barreled ones on board for no reason. They may embark marine boarding teams depending on where they're operating but it's certainly not all the time.
That muzzle flash in broad daylight
Do not! Let the navy play with small arms 😂

Sailors go around killing people on subs
Oh ya for sure, corporal set your blokes up in that exposed bun line *Brecon points* (head torch left on in his webbing)
Yep been there.
Hehehe, the Andrews are always arguing, pushing and shoving to be first in line on small arm inspection day... 😂.
I thought his arms looked normal size.....
As we said in the army, NEVER give a matelot a gun!
There's a difference between a gun and a rifle! 😆

BY THE TIME HE FOUND HOW TO WORK it THE ENEMY SHOT HIM WILLIAM
Why is he not capable of loading and preparing it on his own?
Why isn’t this sailor trained in the use of this shizen weapon
Could have dropped a float or something to aim at 🤔

+Ulsterman96

JesusChristNeverLived probably take your eye out lol
Not if you believe!
Absolutely not

Sure, I'm not a weapon person
I had visions of him fumble and drop it like it was red hot or made of bee's then landing and accidentally discharging in his Big toe, sorry Andy pandy's...
They dont use an SA80 for boarding 💀. The Royal Marines Commandos are the ones that boards ships for starters, and secondly they use an L119A1
