This is a live recreation of the album K.G.(2020) & L.W. (2021) by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. My inspiration came from an idea of what if the entirety of the Explorations into Microtonal Tuning was performed live in a epic show. This comes from that idea and I implemented it into transitions and edits to recreate a live show experience from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

Jesus Christ, Cavs is such an insane drummer. I play and listen to a ton of metal specifically because I love people pushing drums to the absolute limits of what is possible. But Cavs plays some truly mind-bending rhythms while still being irresistibly groovy. Anyone can play fast with with practice. Not everyone could come up with such wild beats and pull them off so flawlessly in live settings. Gotta be one of my favorite drummers ever

Saw KGLW this year at Red Rocks and at one point i told my friend "CAV's absolutely abuses the skins" The dude at one point looked like Animal from the Muppets back there on the kit. Underrated drummer when it comes to All time greats.
Anybody watch "Sleeping Monster" where Lucas said (paraphrasing) "I'm not that good of a musician and playing catch up with the other guys."? I get what he's saying but goddamn he's a badass bass player. To be able to hang with a drummer like that and play songs as crazy as these puts you miles ahead of many musicians. The Gizz are a humble bunch.
Not to mention he ain’t too shabby on keys either

This music is surprisingly good as background for working or studying! What a cool band they are!
LW is one of the five albums I've been listening to over and over and over again, by KGLW since I found them 6 months ago. This is a real treat.
KG is my favorite of the two. Intrasport and Straws In the Wind are some of my favorite Gizzard tracks.

I'm having a hard time trying to catch up because there is so much KGLW music that I love and I keep listening to those songs over and over again. It takes an hour to listen to four songs
LW and Murder of the Universe are almost always in my rotation
I'm in the same boat. LW is a masterpiece. My favorite is Ataraxia.

I might sound stupid as hell, but this performance awakens my long forgotten dream to be a rock musician. I can't imagine what it takes to be able to create such stuff... I mean regular practice of course decides, but yet again you have to have something special to be like them, and it's not given to everybody.

SLIFT (amazing french space rock band),
Karaka (another french band, heavily sitar-fuelled)
Wand (friends of Ty Segall, with a great singer, and clever song arrangements, I personnaly love their "Laughing Matter" LP)
As for the influences, King Gizz are digging a lot (that's actually what makes them so interesting and fun), so here's my guess
- Rock related : Osees, T.rex, Can
- Hard-rock/metal related ; AC/DC, Hawkwind (there's a lot of space-rock/prog-rock in their early days, especially on "I'm In your Mind Fuzz" and "Nonagon"), Metallica, Black Sabbath
- Jazz related ; Frank Zappa, Mild High Club
- microtonal music related ; Tinariwen, Altin Gün, Erkin Koray
- "others" (weird stuff, electronic, ..) : Autechre, Tortoise

Does anyone know why King Gizz never plays Intrasport or any Butterfly 3000 live ?? It’s my dream to see Yours live . I would achieve reality if I heard the full album live 🤩
I believe they mentioned that some songs are really hard to do live
Probably too many synth parts, plus, a lot of the songs on BF3K are deceptively complex
Saw them play Butterfly at Forest Hills Stadium in 2022 & it was 10000x better than studio!
It is a polyrhythmic masterpiece . That plus timeland has incredible musical structure , absolutely genius and brand new
But I mean they could do a show that’s just butterfly and they all switch to synths and arp loops . I think they used a special instrument to make most of that album I seen on a video
