BluShark Nylon Nato Straps - Are they good?

- Hey guys! I am back from an adventure in Moab of which I have injured my foot/ankle. I have not gotten x-rays yet but I might have to. This is not good lol. ANYWAY, The good folks at Blushark straps sent me a few samples and even though nato straps are not my favorite, I really like these. A lot. Come watch!

Last week I went off on a adventure all by myself into the desert of south eastern Utah. I didn't fill up my gas tank, I had no cell service and it was hot. The scenery was epic. I was enjoying myself quite thoroughly but then I got bit on the neck by something. I started freaking out. "OH NO, I MIGHT DIE", I though.
I booked it back to Moab where I was staying all the while thinking I am being poisoned by some random thing. My insides started churning. I was on the verge of panic. I was dying. I was in desperate need of medical attention. I was... I was...
Yeah I was just hungry.

You can get curved springbars if they are too close to the case. I use them on a Citizen to get a thick nato on. I've also seen a tool on ebay that'll bend 'em good and proper if you need to.

minitwatch sometimes when you can't thread the strap due to clearance just remove the spring bars. Position the strap where you want it then install the spring bars.
That's true however, on the SRP481, that is simply not possible with that fat nato.
I have 2 citizens that have that dumb proprietary parts so I have been told most straps won't work ugh
Dude, be careful with your ankles. I busted my ankle, tore up tendons, took me a year before I was able to start hiking again, and I am still far away from my old form and will probably never be able to push it the same way. Take care of that foot.

If you want it to sit closer to your skin, you can always use the "slim"way to wear a nato, meaning you can put your wrist through the extra part of the strap. TGV at The urban gentry channel has a video showing different ways to wear nato's. Check it out =)

I have bought NATO straps from BluShark, Wrist Candy and Clockwork Synergy. Build quality award definitely goes to BluShark. Their hardware is amazing and the square holes don't fray at all. Next is Wrist Candy. Their straps are the longest, and on my large-ish wrists, I don't have to do anything awkward or dangly with the end of the strap. CWS is the last on the list, but they are still very comfortable. Most importantly, they are the least expensive of the 3, and they had a Maryland flag NATO. :)
The BluSharks I have aren't alphas, but they still have the BluShark Sheen, the Polished, Brushed and PVD hardware are all outstanding, and the colors are vibrant and beautiful.

Do you know the trick to wearing it lower to your wrist? Put your wrist through the first loop.

You can spend more on a NATO, but you cannot buy more strap than a BluShark Alpha. I wear them on three watches (New and Classic Bonds). The strap is smooth to the touch, the sheen is really sheeny, and the metal bits are outrageous. It looks like the OEM straps which come with really expensive watches. The BluSharks will make your watch POP.

How do the "HEMSUT" natos compare to these
Texture is similar to the safety belts, great look and thickness! I have two look-a-like straps supplied with my Victorinox Maverick Sport Chrono.
I wanna get these but with Covid19 situation and I live in India. Dunno if I will get them.

Is the bond in the video the brushed or polished?
I like clockwork synergy natos, especially for the range of colors and sizes. I haven't seen anyone else with that range. Haven't been wearing them for very long just got in a few of them a few days ago, but they seem pretty comfortable. They have a good length for me to as my wrist is about 6 inches in diameter. Haven't tried blu shark natos though.

I bought 6 of these Blustraps. They are not worth it. The
tiger one the strips start falling of after two days. The black and the yellow
are hard plastic - just like the 2$ ones.

Ok, but at approximately 10x the price it wants to be better. I pay about 3 bucks for each nato from China and for the money they are just fine. At 30 bucks your ones are a rip off.
hey great video. but the auio transition from your camera mic to the outro is aggressively louder on the latter. Also, you should check out the ZoomH4n pro, it'll be a great way to increase your clarity, volume and overall sound of your audio. If you read these ;)
The great thing about black dial watches are that almost any strap looks great with them. Especially the olive green one.
The one thing I don't understand about the NATO straps is why do they have to be so long? I hate having to fold the end over and tuck it in. I want to know who has a 10-12 inch diameter wrist that requires these super long 13 hole NATOs. Somebody needs to make a NATO that fits the ret of us normal sized people.
BTW sorry to hear about your injuries. You play hard you get injured hard. At least I hope you were having fun until you killed it.
I think they are made long to accommodate using them over thick jackets, etc. Some people cut them down to size and melt the edges. I've done that with a few of mine. I did have fun and didn't let it stop me. I kept on riding for a few days afterwads (which was probably the worst thing to do). :p
For a lower fit, wear the small strap on the outside.

It was in the middle. I still kept riding. Kalani is making a huge movie. He keeps joking that it's my shoulder (see below). I don't think blushark is related to that company but wow, I really want to find a vintage Shark watch!

I use MSR adventure boots which have saved my ankles a lot. The problem is that this was "stomp-impact" which hurt my foot. My left foot came down first and hit the limestone pretty hard. Nothing we can do about that save for putting gel pads...which I have done.

Thanks for the video. I believe looks-wise, you can get something similar from Wrist Candy Watch Club for a lot less. Sure, it's not "authentic", but if you just like the look and standard NATO material and build are good enough for you, I'd look to THE WCWC option.
Also, not sure where you got yours. I know they sell these at Gnomon Watches.
