Very few true racing fans commenting here. A lot of them on the wrong page. Great stuff folks and thanks for the weekly broadcast. really enjoy it 👍

A great show that. They always do a good review and discuss topics well when all three are on.

I go to Royal Ascot every year (Queen Anne enclosure with an upgrade to get a bit more space - trackside tables this year) and the atmosphere is hard to beat. I go to as many race days as I can fit in and while my friends who came with me went for the occasion and to see the King, I love the racing. For me the big difference is that you can get bigger fields and some really good horses, so the races are more exciting.
The BBC dropped racing (I remember it well when they did it) because of another financial squeeze from the Government and their excuse was that they could not afford to do all the events they used to cover and wanted to focus on the ones with the widest appeal (football and cricket). Doesn't explain why they kept tennis really though and I couldn't believe they didn't even mention the Derby in the sports section of the news this year.

Darragh O'Loughlin will kick the can down the road again next time. Playing games imo. He'll say we've got the report and now its a police matter. Or it's a disciplinary matter.

why does everyone put Frankel on a different level to Sea the Stars, Didn't Sea the Stars win bigger races?

The facilities at Ascot would put Cheltenham to shame. Cheltenham is in decline long term.

Not sure the quality of racing at Ascot was as high as you suggest. The last race has no place at the meeting. The oz sprinter is not one of their best. I'd have huge juice concerns over Aus and US runners. Godolphin had very few runners. If Godolphin see UK racing as less significant, and our best horses keep getting sold, the quality wont hold up at this meeting. Also, i dont think its ideal the O'Briens winning 8 races between them. A family that adores money as much as Nick Luck!

Johnny ranting about the bbc. Maybe he should be ranting about fatalities instead! Was it Listowel last year that had 7 fatalities at the festival? Punchestown too.

The only reason it was a week to remember was because everyone got absolutely rinsed. The quality of racing was poor and the entire week was nowhere near the quality of previous years, lets be honest about it. One good story: Kyprios. But hardly a miracle. Another thing, and it not limited to this racing podcast: get a mic.
