Great video. I struggled with the instructions that came with the pad. You made it simple to program. Well done!

    5828 wireless keypad
When put AA battery it works. But when put 5vdc it does not work. Is there any setting need to do when use 5vdc ?

Does the 5828 need a transformer like the earlier wireless keypads? If not, what is the projected lifespan of the three AA batteries? Also I'm curious about the security of the keypad. For instance if you programmed all of your Lynx Touch L7000's for the same house code, could you conceivably go around with a 5828 and disarm each system from outside? I use the L5200's and use a lot of 5834 keyfobs. Just curious.

Great question, no the 5828 is a wireless keypad that doesnt need a transformer for power. Battery life is on average 3-4 years based on usage.

Also, keep in mind the 5828 is not weather proof. But yes, assuming the wireless signal is not too far away then you could disarm using the 5828 from outside. The 5828 will not know the difference of whether it's inside or outside, but the humidity and temperature could destroy the 5828 as it is truly meant for indoor use.

Thank you for that question on the honeywell 5828v Adjust message playback volume: # + 0 + 2 + 3↑ or 6↓. By any chance are you looking for low cost no contract alarm monitoring services for your honeywell lynx touch system?
