  • I decided to do something different and do a voice siren setup again with my FBII VS299 (Ademco 745X3). Let's just say after a few tests, the panel wasn't havin it.

    The 299 has gotta be the scariest siren driver ever

    you should run the voice driver off of an external power supply to not suck up the panel power, I use an old Roomba charger with the 4204 relay module for my fire alarms.

      Wdym? How do you attach a charger to a 4204

    • @willsarms3
      @willsarms3 Před 9 měsíci

      I connected the positive output of the charger to a relay input, the charger negative to all the alarm negatives, the alarm positive goes to the N.O. side of the relay@@SodiumInduction-hv

      @@willsarms3 you could just run wire from positive terminal to alarm and negative terminal to alarm for 4204

    So, on these panels, when they’re in alarm, bell output power comes straight out of the battery. This is actually pretty standard for security panels. I’ve seen panels with a high load on the bell output, cause the whole panel to shut down on alarm. That siren driver eats a lot of current too and it’s putting quite a draw on the battery. There are ways to wire speakers on a driver to budget the amount of current the driver draws, usually by putting speakers in series instead of parallel. The battery is discharging quickly when it’s in alarm. A sure sign that the battery is past its service life in AH capacity. I’d check the current draw out of the bell output and make sure it’s not beyond what the panel specified. I’d also go for a new and larger capacity battery. Just because the panel doesn’t show battery trouble, doesn’t mean the battery is actually good in terms of AH capacity.

      That is why I use a 7amp hour battery. It may sound the same but it works with the VS279 and VS299 that have shown that they crash panels whenever they want to with this dude, no issues for me, just trying to get rid of the supervision issue on my panel

    • @officialoofyt
      @officialoofyt Před měsícem +1

      I agree with you. My battery *cables* stopped working (the battery is fine) and then since theres no battery my panel just sounds the siren for two seconds then goes into bell failure. However I found out that if I spam the panics the siren will eventually start going off from the transformer

      5:00 nah it crashed earlier, you can hear the panel dieing when he opens the door. And then at 5:15 the panel got low pitched and did 6 beeps seconds after. Tangled that siren needs to be on the external power supply so it doesn’t fuck up the panel like that.
