I'm surprised these videos don't get more attention they're really done well. I guess the community's ignorance to offmeta makes people not bother to experiment. As a support main I understand it's really nice to be able to expand the amount of champions you can use and keep the support role fresh
I think a lot of the time people don't want to get flamed for what might be viewed as a troll pick. The community plays a big roll, but, I think it's important to show that most anything can work in league if you master it. Thank you for your kind comment!
@@BCawk Yes I really really hate whenever I play something that's not meta and get told not to play it and get told it's bad usually because either they've seen it once and it did bad or due to the fact it "doesn't exist" means it's bad, yet people can play meta champs and still do bad regardless of following meta. It's about how well you play a champion not what champion you pick

The only time the community plays off-meta picks is when some Pro uses it in a game to surprise his opponents (consider all the MF supports that came out after that one time a pro team used it in a very specific matchup). Same shit happened with AP Varus, folks would flame me for using it 24/7 and then one year it was played a couple times by a pro, suddenly everyone and their mom uses it and says "well duh it makes sense" when those same people and their small brains would have been the first to spam ? ping the AP Varus before.
This community is garbage tbh. Glad you're not one of them though! Hope we get more free thinkers like you.
As a guy who exclusively does off meta shit, like Ammumu top or Sion in mid, I'll play Kayle support haha.
I played Kayle support before her rework, she was definitely better back then. Also i'm pretty sure that her W's mana cost was made bullshit high because there was one patch when pros played her as a support, but Riot didnt want any of that to be a meta pick.
I think a reduction on the mana cost would help a lot.... we got Morgana jungle but Kayle's not allowed to support 💔
Forget the mana cost, let her E have a 1 second root if landed while her Q debuff is on. Make the Q debuff longer but less strong, and people might not even flame the pick every game....lol
@@endynegaming2406 Point and click root on a hypercarry sounds way too op. You honestly buff any part of her kit which isn't her heal without affecting the hypercarry build. Imo only way to buff support kayle is by buffing the heal somehow, like reducing mana cost when using it on an ally.
@@jigthh uh, no, not point and click. She has to land a skill shot first, and also use her execute skill. So it's also a damage trade off. Giving her more healing doesnt fix what keeps her from being considered a "good supp". One item basically gives her infinite mana anyway.
I was just typing that, she was 200% more broken with Athene's holy grail because she used to burst heal double the heal she does now.
As a person who likes to use different characters but only good at support, you really help me. I've always love playing top kayle but playing support is just more fun for me. Seeing unconventional champ used in a support gameplay is soooo fun and interesting.

Ah Kayle support! That was the first champion/role I ever played back in like S2.
hi guys, i'm an otp kayle support too and i can say it's really good. Yes, she can have an hard time in early but guess what, her q is what makes her viable. The slow is great, the dmg scales with ap and is also really good, goes through minions and shred armor and mr by 15% which is a good amount. You can trade, you can poke (her e doesn't cost any mana) and the heal provides ms to both kayle and her target or closest ally, which is why it costs so much mana... But she has a high mana regen with mana ruban, i've near to 0 mana problem anyway. She's really good with all in champions and agressive adc !
What u said is all true, people think it struggles with mana because they only use it once, but when u learn how to use your healing properly its pretty good. They also dont realise that it's not only a healing, the ms is quite good and it can get your adc out of trouble easily. The q is both a good engage and disengage tool and your e allows u to proke ur supp item without using mana. It also still does a lot of dmg in late and heal much more than people think, and with some cd items in late game ur ulti at lvl 3 is just 50 secs cd wich is pretty broken

I was once an autofilled noob ADC and got a Kayle support. Was surprised at first but he really nailed it.

@@BCawk people are definitely always very sceptical when I pick her as support. That's the biggest hurdle I would say. Also I think that people underestimate how much the W with the item boosts actually contributes to them being able to chase. I also made the experience that it's hard to play her well, if the assasins and engagers don't act ballsy enough, which they should be doing when your ult is up on Kayle. Other than that it's quite enjoyable to play her :)

When i came to league i chose reworked kayle as my first champion because i saw her kit and thought she is a good support champion. (I try to pick support class in any new game i want to learn)
Great video, however as a 1.500.000 mastery points Kayle OTP, IMO Kayle support is basically Senna, it's just Senna has abilities to do support job sooner, better and she also scales harder than Kayle support. Kayle has low base damage with high AP ratio therefore she is much more stronger when buying straight AP items and not AP support items. She needs at least 200 AP to stay revelent in game and need at least 400 AP to become a hypercarry (which is why Kayle's meta build right now is Nashor - Riftmaker - Deathcap to reach that power spike as soon as possible, with dark seal / Mejai in between due to how broken it is since pre season 11 and help Kayle snowball the game to reach her power spike earlier).

I remeber playing kayle support and having fun with it in s10 but I could never remember what build I was using.
I think it may have been a bit more effective in s10 but she still has a place now! Hope this helped~

For hard engagers like Alistair or Nauti I go Guardian, revitalize, sorcery 2ndary
I was expecting some kind of aggressive build but its full on enchanter build, there is one thing you're mistaken comparing kayle with soraka tho:
You can spam soraka's heal constantly, even in level 2-3 and you don't lose HP if you land her Q, while kayle has a big cooldown for her healing plus it grants you a movementspeed. Sure it might have more healing but if you land Q with soraka, her passive allows you to heal your adc so much more than actual healing, plus it also grants adc a small movement boost too, so you can't compare kayle's healing with soraka cuz soraka DOES so much better healing than kayle even in low levels.
So because of this cooldown gap, I think moonstone would be better choice on kayle instead of mandate cuz it provides ability haste per legendary item if your only job with kayle is peeling for adc, plus you cannot proc mandate as often without rylai's.
Another problem is mana, you cannot just spam your heals and Q recklessly, but I think you can fix that problem by taking x3 fearie charm on first back to increase your mana regeneration, one for mythic one for flowing water one for ardent.
The only decent good side of kayle support in my opinion is her ultimate, other than that, everything else seems really boring.
Protecting only one ally, no CC, no actual peel (no constant healing, its just for one time skills, do or die), no potential about carrying games, squishy and slow in early game, too late impact and too slow scaling, no good gold income, not good about roaming, might be good about warding and clearing wards but if enemy has speedy boi's like udyr, you're pretty much lost the vision priority too, all and all its REALLY not a good support pick (can easily be crushed at level 2-3-6 dives) and I want him(chron) to come and tell us "in which cases you should pick kayle support, to counter what, to do what and in which cases you should avoid fights or build items differently"
This is -just like poppy support- must be a really specific pick when it comes to playing a support role. Thats why I kinda need more detailed explanation.
Seriously tho, I likely prefer kayle as adc rather than support, considering he also takes aery(?) Whats the big idea with kayle support for real? (Except her R)

Well said. Building Kayle enhancer may become completely irrelevant late game where big damage is done. At least in previous season you had holly grail and this was really good fun. I used to man the healing potential and was always landing about 20 assists per game. Now in this season, the healing is too weak. So I was actually trying out an aggressive build with electrocute and scorch for runes. First item imperial mandate, second some enchanting item such as ardent censor, and then you must build nashoors tooth in order to stay relevant in the game to do some dmg
Hey Caner, sorry I took a while to get to you hear, I had a note to respond but I never did 😅 I also thought Kayle support could potentially be full damage as well but this build surprised me. I think overall using a different mythic could be more viable but I like to present what that person does most often. Always use these videos as a jumping off point never as hard rules!
Overall after trying it myself I can say that Kayle support could use a little love in the buff department, but, it is a bunch of fun and can work against some all in champions pretty well.

If a game goes late, kayle still scales into a beast. Even in an enchanter build, her AP is high, which gives her decent attack speed and solid burst. Shes still scary at 16 in any AP build imo.
@@endynegaming2406 yup, I play kayle support and the only damage item that i build is nashor tooth (well and berserkers and sometimes rylais) but it still does a lot of damage when it hits lvl 11, how the first guy said, i think moonstone is way better because u will heal with every auto and also increade your healing power so it is pretty dope

i was just about to do the same. how did it go?
A couple days ago i got one Kayle main in lobby and as I think, he just have been auto filled on support role. He asked me about can he try support as Kayle when I was on Vayne. I will not sure about that, but give him a try.
The main difference in gameplay when i stay with meta supports - playing with Kayle is about to speed. Her W have crazy boost to speed and also this guy takes Shurelia, with that build we just cosplaying Hecarim and rollover enemies. What also important, her ultimate, when (what you talked about in video) it casted in right moment, it's just negate most of enemy hard control and damage, so after that winning that teamfight will be more easy. All of that it's just my emotions of one game in platinum elo, but damn, I really want to stay once again with good Kayle support.
p.s.: after all this cacophony, I want to say I'm sorry about poor English level. I do my best..

Eek, you're so right and I misspoke referencing the pre nerfed version... I apologize. Any forbidden idol can swap in instead of staff that fits the team in this case. Thank you for pointing this out

RIOT reduced heal at lvl 5 from 180 to 155 and AP ratio from 30% to 25%. They doing everything to prevent kayle support

I have always seen her as an enchanter, always played her as a support. Never liked her as top, and since nunu Got his movment speed for allies taken away she is just a ranged nunu support. Like M5 used to play bot lane
