Warm greetings from Uganda, East Africa.Thank you coach Perry and coach Ntutu for the clarification of the concept of SPEED and contextualizing it to endurance running....it's been an " aha" moment for me . I am gonna watch this video ten times to internalize the tips.

Also. This is all true ! I’ve only done one speed session a week and have only gotten faster . But the business of three to five we ones faster at race pace isn’t what my intervals prescribed . It’s much faster .

I really enjoy your videos. I wish they could be shorter though. My intention span is rubbish. I tend to dip in and out and find myself fast forwarding to get to end summary and miss out all the good stuff inbetween😁

Thanks for this. So what are your thoughts on short c8 second hill sprints with two minute recoveries? I'm 58 and have been doing the weekly km repeats etc for several years. I'm considering bringing in full out sprints to maintain muscle strength. My usual race distance is 5-10km.

Thank you for this. I will probably need to watch this several more times but I get the gist. Q: if I request a half marathon plan in CP, will this speed workout be built into it?

Hi Terry, great question and yes the interval sessions are included.

    I have a request.
Can we please put a halt to the idea that you've got to FIRST start with all this slow, basic aerobic stuff? It feels like these videos are treating us like we just laced up running shoes for the very first time! 🏃‍♂👟
For many of us it's not the FIRST‌ time, not even the FIRST‌ year!

I've been running for about 25 years & I disagree, what they say is very important & cannot be emphasized enough

@R251400 I agree. I've been running 15 years and I'm still learning new stuff almost daily.

@@R251400 No. You didn't understand what I said. I didn't say it's not important; I said in the majority of the videos they keep saying First you have to do this. What if you have been running 15 years only at a slow pace everyday? First with reference to what? That statement is utterly vague.

Internalize the message and pick out what is applicable in ur context. If it doesn't ......well your have a choice to drop it..... Bro, don't get stressed.

@@RaoBlackWellizedArman I've been running fast most of my life because I thought I could save time by running less mileage or less frequently. It was only when I started watching the Coach Parry channel, I changed my training & saw the benefits (no injuries & improvement in speed). Even now, knowing this I still can't resist entering a running event occasionally on a weekend with the intention of not racing, yet still end up racing or going way too fast & interfering with my training.

15 minutes mansplaining boiled down: For longer distances do longer intervals. For shorter distances do shorter intervals. Powerfull stuff!
