2:28 the scene right after this is my absolute FAVORITE. "He doesn't need me anymore" she says. But a few minutes after this He comes back to camp weak and exhausted from healing thousands that day. And she rushes over to help Him and to wash His feet. And He says "what would I do without you?"

Her role was MAJOR not only in Jesus’ life but even salvation history, her accepting God’s will is what brought salvation to the world, she gave Him His human nature. She prompted Him to do His first public miracle, She’s basically the first Christian, she knew exactly who her son was. before anyone else did, she suffered the most upon seeing Jesus suffer in His passion and crucifixion. Something that I noticed in this scene was when this version of Mary recounted her experience and said that at one point or another, she almost saw Jesus Christ as a normal person while caring for Him. And in this version of retelling the Story of Jesus, so did Joseph. However, with the Holy Spirit and the revelations each person personally received, they knew that Jesus Christ was more than just another person.
The thought crossed my mind that since we all have the gift of agency, we can choose whether or not we will believe someone or something, as well as choose whether or not we'll continue to choose the current choice. Mary and/or Joseph could have chosen to reject their revelation or chosen to push Jesus to be a certain way popular way, but instead, they choose to follow God and help God's Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
So glad I discovered this insight through rewatching this scene!

I don't think the verses from Luke would have made a greater impact, infarct perhaps they tried that and found it didn't fit the fiery mood around the camp fire while everyone was in heated conversation directed at Matthew. I think they were driving the scene to impact what she revealed when Jesus came back to camp, to tired to wash His feet and in desperate need of His mother, when she felt He didn't need her anymore.

This has reached those who’ve never heard, fired up lukewarm believers, fascinated children with a fresh perspective of the human aspect of Jesus that’s never been depicted even though it was as much a part of him as his deity.

AS A MOTHER,IT WAS THE FOLLOWING SCENE THAT AFFECTED ME THE MOST...WHETE JESUS WALKS UP TO FIND THEM ARGUING WITH EACH OTHER AND GOES TO HIS TENT.. SO EXHAUSTED HE CAN BARELY WALK. MARY,WHO HAD JUST SAID SHE WAS RARELY NEEDED BY JESUS PHYSICALLY ANYMORE...FOLLOWS HIM INSIDE THE TENT AND THE HELPS HIM UNDRESS AND THEN PROCEEDS TO WASH HIM WITH A COOL WET CLOTH. THAT SCENE TOUCHED ME SO DEEPLY. I LOVE JESUS SO MUCH...HE HAS NOT ONLY H ELPED ME BECOME A BETTER PERSON...HE HAS DONE S I MUCH FOR MY FIVE CHILDREN. THEIR FATHER DIED SUDDENLY IN 2009 AND THEY HAVE ALL MISSED HIM SO MUCH.

All my 3 sons are in their late - early 20s now...But, as a father I was blessed to see them born live and I'm not a real religious person (lifelong Catholic). When I saw them...inside of me cried so much I couldn't cry aloud. It was a joy and a little bit of fear thinking "how am I going to be a father and husband now?!" Seeing my wife's face smiling and embracing each one separately...the greatest feeling I've ever experienced! +++

Mary got to kiss the face of God. She got to hold Him in her arms. She rocked Him to sleep. I couldn't even grasp in imagination how all of that could have been for her. God chose her to be the mother of Jesus, so I imagine she had to have such a pure heart towards God and her faith is beautiful beyond words.

Hi! The Immaculate Conception and the Virgin Birth are not the same thing, but they often get confused. The Immaculate Conception is the belief that Mary was conceived herself without Original Sin, therefore making her worthy to be the Mother of God (this belief is most prevelant Catholic teaching). The Virgin Birth is the belief that Mary conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit, as described in Luke's Gosple!

How did she do it? HOW?? I would happily give up 5 years of my life, to have one of my sons back in my arms again as an infant for just 5 minutes!! Motherhood is a gift from God that blooms in our hearts as a rose but has sharp thorns that will pierce our hearts many times in their lifetime. When we are old, we mourn the bedlam of all the hectic noise of raising them. Have they eaten, are they warm, do they need a Dr, running every second of the day to meet their needs before ours, was it enough? Then, they don't need us anymore. At the time, raising them didn't give you time to reflect...we were too busy to notice they were growing. Now, they are grown, they are gone with babies of their own, and I wish I could hold them again one more time in the dead of night..softly rock them again, and sing those little eyes closed to sleep one more time.. I cannot wait to meet her in heaven someday and have a long LONG talk.

Hey Dallas and co. I would like to pray over you, Isaiah 50:4-5.
"The Lord has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary.
He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to hear as the learned.
The Lord has opened my ear and I was not rebellious nor did I turn away."
Now, I love that this show is very entertaining, that's good. It's very good quality, thank you very much, although the episodes are quite short. Most importantly, it's not like other shows, quite similar to the Bible being unlike other books.
There's something about it that gives me Bible vibes and I love it. So I appreciate what all of you are doing especially the writers, I know the cast is amazing and the crew is top notch but the story telling is on another level!
As you write the rest of the seasons, my prayer is that the story will be filled with those Bible moments where people watch it and while everyone goes away having enjoyed the content, one particular viewer leaves having experienced God's love, having heard His voice, having received an answer to a prayer, having had an encounter with the Lord Himself!
May people's lives be transformed by watching this show and may this show be to many what Fortina (or is it Photina?) was to the people of Sycar (again not sure of the spelling).
    God bless you!
