  • Here is a walk around of a 2014 Bobcat E45 mini excavator. We are leasing the machine for the summer. I really like this machine, two thumbs up!

I noticed your comment on the auxiliary remotes being on without having to turn on each time which is great. You already have that on your E50's secondary remote that toggles between the remote and boom swing. If you run your thumb off that remote instead of the primary remote, you will not have to always be turning the auxiliary on to run your thumb. As long you don't mind running your thumb off the left toggle and are not using the thumb in conjunction with the boom swing, as to do that you would have to switch the toggle (boom swing to remote) back an forth. The primary remote as you know, also has three settings, which go from high, med, to low. This is better for running a breaker in that you can get up to 20 gpm out of the primary remote versus only about 10 gpm out of the secondary remote. That is how I have my E50 set up, which for me was the better way to go. Thanks for all you helpful tips and information that you post. Ken Wolff

Yea that would get confusing. Our 331 is set up the same way and then I would have to hook up the tilt bucket to the other side, the hydraulic lines would cross. Not good. I see what your saying though

The rotator does have ports on either side, so the lines would not have to cross if you switched to the ports on the other side. But I can see not changing it if that what you have gotten used to. Thanks, Ken Wolff

What might be cool is video the quick tach working with a gopro or your cam in a tripod so we can see the pins going in and out

I like the access, my Takeuchi was terrible, I had to take the rops off to get to the damn starter.......

What does it cost to lease something like this it might be something my friend could do since buying one is a bit expensive even a used one

I have a 331 and am looking to add a bigger machine. I demoed the e45 and liked the power it had compared to the 331, but was not happy with the stability. I am thinking the e 50 will be better for me. In your opinion what is the better machine the e50 or e45?

If you can afford and haul the E50 get that. More power, more lifting capacity, more reach, a little more stable. Its just not a true zero tail swing machine.
